Guess, we may know now, not only why the GBI was left out of the loupe, and why Sheriff Howard Sills is taking this case so personal. But also why there is over 40 FBI Special Agents, 7 Sheriffs Departments, and the FBI BAU involved in the Dermond abduction/murder/decapitation investigation. Not the norm...JMO
Guess, Homeland Security and the US Marshals are keeping a low profile, huh?

Are the Georgia Guidestones in Elberton, near Putnam county? I thought since the nuwaubian cult was being discussed, we might as well throw in some new world order :cow: . I honestly don't think there is a connection to the guidestones, ok? With talk of cults, Mafia, drug cartels and the like, might as well add the NWO nutsies.

I had read that article about an hour ago. Curious.
I wonder if Mr. D. was racist? Or came across that way to someone? Taking his head is soooo physically, literally, and to-the-soul hateful.

On an early thread, I asked whether the sons murderer in prison was associated with anyone in this cult.

I just realized, one of the surviving sons mentioned "cult".

SNIPPED:

York stated... “We moved to Eatonton Georgia because we are the Yamassee, a branch of the Washitaw Moors, The Mound Builders. Our Ancestors built the Rock Eagle Mound and many others in such states as Wisconsin, Ohio, South Carolina, Louisiana, and Tennessee. This is why we chose Eatonton to live. It is close to Rock Eagle Mound.”

Wow. This post led me to do a little research into this group. They have some bizarre beliefs and apparently have many followers still, even though their "leader" is in prison now. What stuck out to me is he was indicted on May 2, 2002. I wonder if there are any civic-type groups in the area (or even individuals) that had an important role in the prosecution of this man.

Could RD or SD have been a Juror? What about MD? Could there have been some interaction while he was alive?

MotherOcean, native American history has always fascinated me.. A couple years ago there was very little info on the internet concerning the mound dwellers. I've been studying the culture for years(hobby) & collecting their primitive tools and artifacts, etc. I have a farm in Tate, GA where these two marble statues were originally discovered;

The Apalachee Indians(Appalachian Mtns; thought to be the oldest mountains in the world)(Muskhogean -moundwellers) East Missippians, are now located in Louisiana..

:truce: I'm in line for the prize as I submitted that over 10 days ago first! :pillowfight2:

ETA: Ryolite was right before me though... so prize goes to him/her? http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10560443&postcount=964

Nope, nope, nope -- like tomkat said, it's MINE! :pillowfight2:

From way back in the first thread:

Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - Found Deceased GA - Shirley Dermond (Abduction), 87, Putnam County, 2 - 4 May 2014

Of course, my theory wasn't real well developed yet -- LOL. But the germ was there...

Actually, I did think about it and mention it, but it has never been really high on my list of theories. Back when I HAD a list ... because it seems my theories are kind of evaporating as time goes by.

I want this case to be solved. Gotta wait...? That's OK. Just let it get solved, please....

They are far and few between IMHO these days, even in ATLanta with CNN/HLN etc. Much less are actual investigative journalists. It's a shame.

Great post and so true!

So, has anyone here contacted LE about this case with a theory? Or does LE really read the threads?
This is my first case here on a forum. After hearing about the murder/kidnapping I Googled and not much came up with "Dermond" "RD" in the first day or two after they found Mr. D...WS was in the top 10 as I remember. Maybe the top 4.And I remember thinking "what is that?" Websleuths? Hmmm. So glad I joined a few days later! Guess I was too busy with the ID Channel and Dateline..

I hope LE was looking at those few listings...

My thoughts exactly! I have been wondering if LE has been contacted about this theory. Clearly we are more than just one person that are thinking there's more to this "cult" than previously thought.

Thank you! That's really, really curious! Wow!

I would love to visit the Rock Hawk Effigy. The picture looks amazing. Going to read more about it later today. Time to punch the old time clock.

If the Dermonds' killer or killers are found and truly were known by the Dermonds, either vaguely or otherwise, and within the GW/RP community, could the Dermond's children sue the HOA in a wrongful death suit?

TIA! BBL! :seeya:

Why would his son mention a cult?
That's just so bizarre.

Where are the writings on the walls? symbols?

this was no cult JMO
This was greed....It might take a while to figure out but I think they will figure it out.

All JMO
