I can’t imagine a universe where an ‘innocent’ person who’s isolated, restricted, hunted & hated, would refuse to talk.

On the contrary, a man in his position would have to be crazy to say anything to police, given they have almost nothing on him regarding the MM case - unless, of course, he digs himself a hole and incriminates himself in some way.

I imagine an habitual criminal, irrespective of what type of crime they commit, will be reluctant to help police in any shape or form.

This link NF says he was driving to Tomar, but doesn't have times, maybe that may jog his memory

Indeed , hopefully we may get some clarity one day , as we have NF telling us he phoned to say he was travelling back from Tomar and CB saying he was with a 17? year old miles away . Then whatever he told the BKA in 2013 so his memory of May 3 may not be so clouded. The old saying goes if you constantly lie , make sure you have a good memory.

Definitely, and as we know now, he wasn't with the 17 year old, as that was a week later

The problem for police is proving where he was, not where he wasn't.
CB doesn't have to prove anything. He could give a different story every week and police would have to waste time diproving it.
I'm sure CB would consider that a victory

In the age of CSI, juries perhaps demand more than they ever have. DNA. Digital forensics. But justice doesn't belong to just this era. Many rightful convictions occurred before DNA analysis and CCTV were things. Prior ever to fingerprint analysis, if we look back far enough.

CB seems to be a slippery criminal, with sick luck on his side.

If I were one of his living victims, his freedom would terrifying and terrorize me. A GPS tag, no comfort.

No need to railroad him for crimes he didn't commit (which I don't personally think is happening here), I just wish he could be held to the fire for the ones he did.

Have you any evidence that he re-visits his victims ?

Agreed it would be idiotic for CB to co-operate with police by volunteering relevant information at this late stage in the investigation.

But it is worth noting that previous suspects were eliminated from inquiries by making statements in the MM case.
On at least one instance witnesses attending for interview were accompanied by legal representation.

There doesn’t need to be evidence or a history of that for victims to remain terrified.

Would he do that? I don't know. But if I were one of his victims, the mere possibility would would quake every nerve in my body.

Agreed such an individual must be uncomfortable in such circumstances. But it has happened. We know alleged criminals were interviewed by PJ on behalf of SY and were eliminated from the inquiry as a result.

Those are some we know about - there are probably more we don't know about.
