But at 3am?
Right.,and leaving us another string. Now tomorrow he can call a pressor and tell us if the group of people who reported the knife welder was looked into . Like he is buying time .

Yesterday November 29 LE issued an update saying that they towed five cars to a secure location for further processing of evidence. I interpret that as meaning whoever they think maybe did this might have recently spent time in one of the victims cars.
Eh I think they were trying to just put it out there so it didn’t go out as some sort of breaking news. I had been waiting for it to happen, surprised it took so long.

Ever see Cape Fear?

A useless attempt to make people feel safe, imo. Imo the killer is not going to strike again at the vigil.
Definitely not strike at the vigil, out in the open with people and LE present.

However, maybe they think that the murderer is very attached to his knife, as many here have speculated, and they are allowing for the possibility that he may bring his knife, hidden, to the vigil?

Just speculation.

I agree. It's all for show to make people feel safe.

Posing as LE maybe
I could see that if he was knocking on the door but LE isn’t going to be walking around inside your dark house at 3am.

Word salad.
Right?! HOLD UP. This is getting nutty.

They "feel"?! And "redefined into an affirmative answer"?! I can decode the latter statement but come on. If I lived in that and even remotely matched the description of any of the murdered people, I wouldn't live in that town. BBM and as always, JMO

AKA, BT is a bad, bad boy and not allowed to talk to media anymore.
I don't even know anymore!
It's adding to an already highly stressed environment and today's press statement is even more confusing

happens every day in the usa. if the door is open, they are allowed to investigate if they suspect a crime.

Regarding the interview with Latah County Prosecutor Bill Thompson, we feel his responses were messaged to support the implication that new information had been released. Specifically, generalized statements regarding the potential of targeted victims and the involvement of drugs were redefined into an affirmative answer. At this time, there is no change or new information in this case, and references otherwise would be inaccurate.

11/30 Update
"we are not affirming or not non-affirming any implied affirmations." o_O

They sat him in the corner next to the coroner.
I know I shouldn’t laugh at any posts on here but this is the funniest post! And, indeed he should be given a time out with the coroner. He and the coroner should not be confusing all the sleuths. ;)

Yes! And it is a frightening thought that LE must have considered. I'd like to know if the killer left any message(s). JMO
Isabella88, that's my thought too. I have wondered, since LE had said early on that there was a target, if they said that based on some (written?) message or sick "clue" left behind by the killer, that somehow indicated that there was a target.

I hope someone asks them that the next time there's a press conference. I'd rather have a press conference announcing an arrest but I'll be happy with some solid answers to basic questions like this.

The operative word for me all along has been "targeted".

JMO!

So the neighbor says he is willing to give DNA and fingerprints, which signals that LE hasn't asked. Oversight or maybe they don't think he's involved in any way. JMO

If they haven't asked other students for DNA, it would be unethical to ask him. After all, the guy was accused by the internet community based on zero evidence, just because someone thought he was odd. If LE are doing dragnet, they should.

The whole area of Moscow is less than 7 square miles, with very high population density. "A neighbor" might be a relative term in that anyone living there is, essentially, a neighbor.

They keep saying that they are painting a picture of what they think happened that night. I think very soon LE is going to come out with a fairly detailed story of what they believe happened that night because more facts are slowing coming to light.

I think they have dna from the scene but initial search didn’t turn up a hit so now they need dna to compare it too. If they arrest someone just to get DNA, public will go nuts assuming that’s the killer. Must be a nightmare for LE on top of which they saw the bodies. Wish I had the $$$ to send them a coffee machine or two and a few meals. JMO
AND TO THE DISPATCHERS! Their workload has dramatically increased with no staffing increase, AFAIK
