From the confusing information we do know, I fear this case is going to turn out like little Lisa Irwin - zilch, nothing to arrest anyone - case unsolved!

My opinions only.

Yeah, it reminds me a bit of the Madeleine McCann case. Years later and millions of pounds thrown at it - and still LE are no closer to a resolution :(

I don't think there are any methods for detecting lying or guilt that have been shown to work for everyone in all situations... There are just too many variables, and it's a very, very inexact science. Even polygraphs are very inaccurate and the results of them aren't admissible in court in most parts of the world.
I know that LE haven't released the results of the four POI's polygraphs, but honestly it wouldn't affect my opinion one way or another.
I was looking for that article I was talking about (haven't found it yet). But another one I was reading kinda saying the same thing as I was talking about basically said its based on personality types and talked about how LE or in this case FBI will ask questions first or observe you to get a feel for your personality before hand. Idk I'm no expert. I'm just really interested in it. And all this talk here about the FBI behavioural analysis being called in got me to thinking about it again. Its interesting. But I'm not sure how important it is for us here at this time. I'd love to talk to someone who is actually educated in this because I sure aynt. I'm just googling lol

Either way if the sheriff called in the FBI for behavioral analysis to me that says...he believes all four poi. He has no idea what happen to DeOrr and the only logical explanation he can think of is if the parents or any of the poi's are lying and he can't tell so he needs someone skilled in this area to determine if he is missing anything. Just my opinion of course. At least at time. Its been known to change frequently :)

I think of Polygraphs as screeners. They tell you something, but not everything.
For example, when your child is sent to the school nurse for a vision screening, a telebinocular machine is used. If a child does not pass the screening test, it doesn't mean they need glasses, but it is a red flag. It tells you that your child needs vision testing with an optometrist or opthamologist. It doesn't mean they have a vision problem, but they might.
A failed polygraph is a red flag. It doesn't indicate guilt or innocence, IMO, but indicates the person needs to be looked at more closely.

Has the PI updated on anything since the radio interview on the 18th September?

If not it will be the second time he has 'disappeared' for a long period. Surely time is of the essence if he believes the man in the Rubicon is the abductor.

I have little faith in that man :(
Sometimes I wonder if they gave him the boot for throwing gramps under the bus. I have nothing to base that on other then it seems I haven't heard from him sinse. Idk

In the PI's description of the Reenactment...I was a bit confused....Was he saying that GGP actually DID go into his camper??? I never heard LE or any reporter actually report that fact. Is it a fact..that's what he DID do?

My gut is taking me back to the Mountain Lion idea.....hmmmm....

I have no idea. Thats where I have been a bit unclear myself. I haven't seen anything reported but I've heard about it a lot. Thats why I'm hesitate to make any judgement on anyone.

My gut has always said mountain lion or maybe even a coyote. Most likly a mountain lion. Admittedly I didn't know much about mountain lions as much as I do cyotes till my gut feeling made me go research them and I haven't read anything yet that would make me think its impossible or even rule out a mountain lion. In fact all I read made me think it was even more likely. DeOrr was the perfect size for one. They most always bury their kills (could be why there is no sign of him) and from what I understand they are starting to branch out due to lack of food. And they are hunters. And ill (edit) add that from what I read they go for the neck or head when hunting...maybe why nobody heard anything. And once they do get their kill they take it els where to feed. And they travel fast and far in just a little time. It doesn't seem impossible to me that no blood would be found depending on how it got him. One good bite to the head (sorry horrible tought, I know) and if it didn't release him till it got to where it was going to feed then much blood if any probably wouldn't of happen. Idk

Very interesting. I think I read something about a bear doing the same thing, as far as going for the head. Probably a news article because I recall a pic of the man who survived the attack, sitting up in his hospital bed. (But ... maybe I'm a bit :cuckoo:)

I've considered bears as well, but they're not as predatory, and not as stealthy. It's hard to believe a bear could have gotten him and no one would have noticed. I agree with giagreen that the Mountain Lion is one of the most likely scenarios. :( How horrible is that? That poor baby.

Below is a drone video of Big Eight Mile campground and surrounding area.
Although it is not Timber Creek campground, is is about 10=15 miles as the crow flys from Timber Creek campground, so the terrain would be similar. It is an hour and 19 min drive from one campground to the other.
Notice that where these campers are camped is right in the trees; whereas our campers at Timber Creek were out in the open. However, I see some open area at this campground too.
I have tried to figure out what direction we are looking at in each part of the video, but have been unable to do so yet. :)
Again, this is not the campground little Deorr went missing from, but it shows similar terrain.

I was watching some DVR'd recordings of Forensic Files, and Deorr's info was posted at the end of the previous program. I was excited to see it what with the exposure he'll get on national TV. I wish all the news channels would end each program with missing people/animal info.

I never really thought Mountain Lion or Bear because I think there would be SOME kind of evidence.

Those local boys, sheriff and SAR handler's say NO and I believe them.

Thanks, ReadySet. That was amazing!

In the beginning, when some of the campers were milling about, and then they looked up to watch the drone -- it reminded me of a UFO sighting. Drone's erratic flight pattern while orbiting around left me feeling dizzy and a bit nauseous. I didn't mute the sound -- very eerie -- kind of gave me the willies!
(Then I watched the Domino's pizza delivery drone video.) :blushing:

Thanks again!

P.S. What are those two green things with stems hanging down that look like pom-poms?

Good! While everyone is :bed: ... I can monopolize the thread! :bud:

But I wanted to direct your attention to a recent episode of podcast: True Murder (w/Dan Zupansky). It is an interview Dan did with author Allyn Atadero on the release of an updated version of his book, "Missing When the Son Sets." He writes about his 3-year-old son Jaryd's disappearance while hiking with a group in CO mountains.

I tried to link it, but (of course) could not due to ineptitude!

I would have thought mountain lion, if it wasn't for the behaviour of the parents since the disappearance... That makes me wonder if something else is going on.

In his interview the PI said that GGP went into the camper and even referred to it being negligent.

The sheriff has also said no about pretty much everything els.
The parents are solid.
Gramp didn't do it.
IR is being truthful.
Abduction is unlikely.
