I don't think that she cared about Kyron. I don't think that she thought it would be the big deal that it turned into.

Money was her motivation. I believe that she thought that they would sue the school.

Living at home with her parents at her age being able to do nothing must be he**.

Her son J has says she does not have access to those things.

Most of us highly suspect she does.

I think Terri thought everyone would believe Kyron disappeared between 9:00 and 10:00 -- that's what Kaine and she both wrote in emails soon after the disappearance. She made sure she had some kind of proof she was at the two FM's during that time. I don't think she expected that the rest of her day would be scrutinized, too.

I think she's very surprised at the situation in which she finds herself. No doubt she expected that at this point she would be an object of sympathy by her friends and the general public and that LE would be on a wild goose chase looking for a mysterious predator.

I have no significant input to this thread simply because it starts with IF. I counter with what IF NOT GUILTY??

I'll let LE work it for a while, then I'll participate in speculation supported by EVIDENCE.

I don't doubt that Terri didn't imagine the disappearance of a child from school would generate a lot of news, I think she thought she had her plan so cleverly constructed that she would never be a suspect, she would be someone that everyone had lots of sympathy for, etc. She'd never be polygraphed or questioned by LE, just maybe interviewed and have appearances at pressers where she would follow Desiree's lead, and wipe her nose with a tissue and try to look upset, cling to Kaine, cling to Desiree....

If she thought her own life and world wouldn't get turned upside down, she must have been living in a bubble for the past two or three years. The parents and stepparents are always the first people LE look at. Duh. That's either delusional thinking or massive, monumental arrogance.

Well, the thread asks "if she is guilty..." And I was responding to the idea that she might have "misunderestimated" what would happen if she took Kyron.

It's hard to think like people who do crimes like abduct children, or molest them, or try to hire someone to kill a spouse or former spouse. From the get-go, they think it is OK to solve their problems or enhance their pleasure at the expense of another human being. So we normal people are pretty much on a different page altogether. So in my view, for a stepparent not seeing the potential consequences to her own life just confirms that it's not just the motive and the rationale that is twisted; it's the whole notion that the perpetrator is so far above the rest of us that he or she will be able to get away with it.

If she is innocent, however, what she might want to think about is how her marriage got into a state in which her husband is convinced she kidnapped Kyron or that she was plotting to have him killed.

The only thing Terri didn't anticipate is Kaine taking their daughter and getting a RO to keep her away. I think she was planning to get the baby before the s hit the fan. He moved faster. I think J was sent to roseburg in preparation. Which makes me truly question whether Terri took Kyron at all. But I am sure she's looking for the next move. It seems like a one-up sick game.
