We don't know for a fact that he committed a crime. LE are waiting for another interview with him. IMOHe spewed hate, preached love, and committed a crime that perpetuated that which he professed to despise.
How ironic.

He is using his platform to express his feelings about hate directed at certain groups of people.
Much like others in positions of power use their platform to encourage hate against others. IMO
Yes, but the second he staged a fake hate crime, he became a criminal. He is using his platform to express his feelings about hate directed at certain groups of people.

It’s by no means a leap.We don't know for a fact that he committed a crime. LE are waiting for another interview with him. IMO
Correct, but has it truly been confirmed that he is guilty.Yes, but the second he staged a fake hate crime, he became a criminal.
Just because a lot of people are hypocrites, doesn’t justify hypocrisy.
My threshold is clear and convincing evidence that someone committed a crime.Correct, but has it truly been confirmed that he is guilty.
Last I heard LE want to interview him again based on their speaking with the two brothers.
He needs more than a crisis manager now. He needs Chernobyl Clean Up Crew.
And that is fine. My concern was early on many sources that were said to be from LE were later said to be false from the Superintendent. My threshold is clear and convincing evidence that someone committed a crime.
I passed that some time ago.
His story was absurd, and I was skeptical from the beginning. But I waited until there was enough evidence before I reached a conclusion as to what happened.
Everything makes sense for a hoax, and nothing lends credence to any scenario that is even slightly plausible.
I am convinced of his guilt, and sold on these brother’s account.
That statement came from top brass, and they said exactly what they were supposed to say.And that is fine. My concern was early on many sources that were said to be from LE were later said to be false from the Superintendent.
So I'm willing to wait until we actually have someone in authority confirm they have evidence of a hoax.IMO
One person from LE has strongly hinted that they need to speak with Jussie. I did see that new evidence has come to light from the interview with the brothers. That statement came from top brass, and they said exactly what they were supposed to say.
If you suspect someone of staging a crime, and you want to keep the lines of communication open, you do not publicly communicate that the leaks are true.
Since that time, they have publicly changed their stance.
They absolutely want to speak to JS again, but I absolutely don’t expect him to talk. It can only hurt him at this point, and his lawyers will not allow it.One person from LE has strongly hinted that they need to speak with Jussie. Other than that and lots of media saying he is considered suspect....nothing really confirms to me that they have anything to point to his guilt.
If they do have evidence why not arrest him?
Depending on what they have it is possible they will come back with an indictment. They absolutely want to speak to JS again, but I absolutely don’t expect him to talk. It can only hurt him at this point, and his lawyers will not allow it.
Reports today said that a grand jury is set to convene. I fully expect them to return an indictment.
At that point he would be arrested and formally charged.
I have only seen the MAGA comment. Which I don't totally agree with but can understand his anger over some of the things happening in our society today.
The brothers were initially arrested, based on evidence that they were involved (surveillance footage and transportation records).
Whatever they told law enforcement, was backed up by evidence (phone records, purchase records, and items seized from their apartment).
So there is actual evidence in play here that paints a pretty clear picture.
We have absolutely no evidence that any political official directed this hoax, or were involved in the planning of it.
They were simply indirect beneficiaries who unwittingly did JS’ bidding.
Unless evidence comes to light that any political official had a direct hand in this, speculation as to their potential involvement isn’t rooted in any fact.
What they did was wrong, but not criminal.
The Bill has nothing to do with internet discussion boards.
To amend section 249 of title 18, United States Code, to specify lynching as a hate crime act.
Text - H.R.35 - 116th Congress (2019-2020): Emmett Till Antilynching Act
The section deals with acts of VIOLENCE. Words appearing on internet discussion boards are not acts of violence. Sticks and stones break bones; words never cause physical injury and certainly not death. Please read Section 3 (4).
We needed a new law for the above crimes ????? I thought all those crimes were already against the law ?......mooThe section deals with acts of VIOLENCE. What platform? JS isn't running for political office and he has no platform that I can see. This case is about knowingly reporting a false hate crime and being held accountable. He is using his platform to express his feelings about hate directed at certain groups of people.
<modsnipped- keep politics out of the discussion>
Platform as a person known to the public. Or you could say he is using his tweets to connect with his followers as many people do. IMOWhat platform? Hard to sum it up any better than that!He spewed hate, preached love, and committed a crime that perpetuated that which he professed to despise.
