It's good reading and the hammer still might fall on Foxx for this as the press release says special prosecutor hasn't determined whether or not to charge Foxx or others at the Cook County DA.

A few things. First, I love that almost every article posted online about Jussie manages to include this picture of him looking smug and shady as f@@k.


Oh, the sweet irony! Jussie’s lawyer claims the new charges are “clearly all about politics.” Lol! Jussie had no problem swiftly using “dirty politics” to get his past charges dropped, but now has the gall to scream “dirty politics” got him indicted?

Jussie is suing the the detectives for their role in originally prosecuting him, and is outraged they are still on the case.

“This indictment raises serious questions about the integrity of the investigation that led to the renewed charges against Mr. Smollett, not the least of which is the use of the same CPD detectives who were part of the original investigation into the attack on Mr. Smollett to conduct the current investigation, despite Mr. Smollett's pending civil claims against the City of Chicago and CPD officers for malicious prosecution. One of the two witnesses who testified before the grand jury is the very same detective Mr. Smollett is currently suing for his role in the initial prosecution of him.” (Jussie’s lawyer statement.)

A major factor in determining the further prosecution of Jussie (also his egregious lies and man-power used) is because Kim Foxx let her mouth write checks that her behind couldn’t cash.

She dismissed Jussie’s original charges based on what she claimed were dispositions of similar cases prior to Jussie’s case that would justify dismissing Jussie’s charges. (Remember her leaked email hustling employees to find similar cases?) She was never able to provide a single case similar to the sweetheart deal Jussie got.

I am sad that the special project on Lynching, with Smollett in the lead role was never shown to anyone.
