Not to mention it really can hurt you and is considered a weapon/assault. I had a man chasing me one time, my violent domestic abuser ex, trying to kill me actually. He was gaining on me so I picked up a stone and threw it at him as hard as I could. It broke his rib and he went down.
Sorry you had to go through that. :(

Israel not confirming ceasefire start time

Despite Hamas and Egypt’s state-run Qahera TV saying the Israel-Hamas temporary truce will take effect at 10 a.m., there is no confirmation from Israel.

One Israeli official confirms the time to CNN. However, another senior official tells the Axios website that the timing will only be decided later in the evening.

The Prime Minister’s Office declines to comment.

IDF provides a wrap of recent operations and strikes in the Gaza Strip .It says the 7th Armored Brigade directed a number of airstrikes in the Gaza Strip overnight, against Hamas sites from which gunfire was directed at troops.

Troops of the Givati Infantry Brigade, meanwhile, raided Sheikh Za'id, near Jabaliya, and destroyed a number of Hamas observation posts.

The 14th Armored Reserve Brigade raided the Beit Hanoun area, locating a weapons cache inside a home.

Forces of the Paratroopers Brigade's 202nd Battalion clashed with Hamas operatives in northern Gaza, killing several of them.

The Harel Armored Reserve Brigade struck Hamas tunnel infrastructure in northern Gaza from which operatives opened fire at troops several days ago.

The 261st Reserve Brigade identified a building in northern Gaza with Hamas operatives and weapons inside, and destroyed it.

The Navy also carried out strikes against Hamas sites along the coast, including a residential building from which Hamas snipers opened fire at ground forces.

IDF says fighter jets carried out strikes against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon. The sites included a military compound where operatives were gathered and other infrastructure, it says.

The IDF says troops have uncovered and destroyed some 400 tunnel shafts in the Gaza Strip since the start of the ground offensive last month.

Troops of the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit have taken a significant part in demolishing the Hamas tunnels.

A short clip posted online today purports to show Hamas operatives exiting a tunnel and surrendering to Israeli troops in the area of Gaza City's Shati camp. Unclear when the video was taken, or further context. (Via מבזק דרומי)

Syrian media reporting air defenses operating over Damascus, possibly amid Israeli airstrikes.

Syria's state-run SANA broadcaster, citing a military source, says the Israeli Air Force fired two missiles from over the Golan Heights at a site near Damascus. It claims Syrian air defenses downed one of the missiles, while the second caused "material losses" and no injuries.

Really, never heard that, thanks, one of my fav artists before hearing this, pros and cons of hitchhiking my fav album, saw Pink Floyd, and also saw him in concert for radio k.a.o.s. so very disappointing. Sickening

WWIII absolutely. As for Borders, look at the map of the region before Israel was created. The IDF has pushed back the agreed lines, and kicked Palestinians out of their homes, taking over their land, for some years now under Netanyahu. There is a very long sad and violent history here. Ukraine is another story, and Putin is evil. Ukraine has a long history of 'ownership', and of course they should be allowed to govern themselves, as a European country-not Communist. Choosing War is horrific and everyone loses in the end.

“When I was first asked to work there (Shifa), I was told that there was a part of the hospital I was not go to near and if I did I’d be in danger of being shot.

”Does this sound like a normal hospital to you? #ShifaHospital #FreeGazaFromHamas

To civilians in northern Gaza:

Residents of Gaza City, especially the neighborhoods of the Old City of Jabalia and Shuja’iya, we urge you to evacuate your residential areas immediately in order to preserve your safety, via the Salah al-Din Road until 16:00, to reach the south of Wadi Gaza and the humanitarian zone.

There will be a local tactical pause for humanitarian purposes today between 10:00-14:00, in the area of the Jourat al-Lot and Batn al-Sameen neighborhoods in Khan Yunis.

Hamas has lost its control over northern Gaza, and is trying to prevent Gazans from moving southward for their safety. Residents whose way is blocked, can contact the IDF through this number: +972 50-341-0322 or the designated Telegram channel: @gaza_saver.

How all these terrorists' preparations were overlooked by Security Forces is a mystery to me o_O

They were all happening literally behind a fence

JMO
Terrorists have to get it right once, and those trying to prevent it have to get it right 100% of the time.

Palestinian terrorist expected to be swapped for hostages demanded Israel pay for her plastic surgery after explosive she detonated left her with serious burns.

News reports from 2015 revealed how Jabas detonated a device close to a checkpoint after the 45-year-old policeman who was injured Moshe Chan, stopped her for acting suspiciously.

As she pulled to a halt she jumped out and shouted 'Allah Akbar' before detonating a gas cylinder hidden in her bag.
Red bolding mine.

I feel badly for the Israeli policeman, Moshe Chan.
Hoping the petition is successful to keep her behind bars, if she's released it's a possibility she will plan another attack.
Omo.

Not too many of them have actually been prosecuted. Lots of "under arrest" ... some for extended periods of time, some are relatively new-ish arrests.

imo
So in Israel is someone considered innocent until proven guilty? Or are they being detained “just because”. That would put a whole different spin on the situation, IMO.

Families will have 'agonizing wait' as hostages released over four days, U.S. official says

At least three Americans are likely to be among the hostages released by Hamas, national security adviser Jake Sullivan told “TODAY" this morning.

He said negotiators had some information about the identities of the hostages who are expected to be released, including that they will be women and children. But he cautioned that they won’t know exactly who will be released until it happens.

“The hostages will be released over the course of a period of four days. So there will be an agonizing wait day by day as families look to see if if their hostage, their loved one is in the particular release that day,” Sullivan said, adding that Palestinian prisoners will also be released each day.

OMG!
Thank goodness you didn't kill him.
Imagine spending life in prison!!

(It would have been ruled self defense. Circumstances leading up to it were pretty clear.)

"Mass rape was a premeditated part of Hamas's plan."

The First Lady of Israel, Michal Herzog, writes powerfully about Hamas rapists' horrific sexual violence on October 7—and the international community's shameful silence and denial.

After the first 50 hostages are released, the ball will be in Hamas’ court. For every 10 hostages it lets out, we’ll give it a day’s pause. ⁦@cnni

Rachel Goldberg, whose son, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, had his arm blown off and was then taken hostage on Oct. 7, shows a video of the attack to @Pontifex during a meeting he had with families of hostages in the Vatican this morning.

"This is my son. No arm — his arm was cut off."

Al Jazeera has issued a statement strongly condemning what it says is “the horrific targeting of journalists” by Israel during the current conflict.

Writing that “the number of those deliberately targeted and killed in Gaza has now reached 60 journalists and photographers since 7 October” the statement goes to call on the international community to act, saying

Al Jazeera Media Network calls on international press freedom and Human Rights organisations to take the necessary measures to ensure the protection of journalists, enabling them to carry out their profession and urges them to condemn the systemic killing of journalists by Israeli forces.

Journalists in Gaza are making unparalleled sacrifices to reveal the true cost of the Israeli onslaught. Al Jazeera stands firm in its call for justice, accountability, and the safeguarding of the fundamental rights of journalists in conflict zones.

I you're using Chrome on a desktop, it's easy. Translate is on top right. Don't know about other browsers or cellphones though.

Charges are typical....

ETA: I don't want too be critical. Israel is in a different part of the world. Hostage taking is extremely rare in the US.
Abduction and kidnapping are for SA etc.

FIGHTING IN JABALIYA SPILLS OVER TO HOSPITALS, AND STRIKE KILLS 3 DOCTORS

GAZA CITY — Four people, including three doctors, were killed when a hospital was struck amid intense fighting Tuesday in the Jabaliya refugee camp, the hospital director told Al-Jazeera TV.

The director of al-Awda hospital, Ahmed Mahna, blamed the strike on Israel, a claim that The Associated Press could not independently confirm. The medical aid group Doctors Without Borders confirmed that two of the doctors killed worked for it.

The group called for better protection of medical facilities, staff and patients in the besieged enclave.

“Seeing doctors killed next to hospital beds is beyond tragic, and this must stop now,” The aid group said in a post on X.

The Israeli military said Hamas fighters had retrenched in Jabaliya, a densely built district of concrete buildings near Gaza City that houses families displaced in the 1948 war surrounding Israel’s creation. Israel has bombarded the area for weeks.

Oh my goodness!! ❤️ Please let this materialize.

——

“As Israel and Hamas indicated that they were preparing a cease-fire to free 50 hostages, some families of those abducted to Gaza last month were grappling with conflicting emotions: a growing optimism that their loved ones would return that was chilled by a gnawing fear that the deal might collapse — or worse, that they might be left behind.

“If we’ve been on a roller coaster, now we’re going up,” said Gili Roman, whose sister Yarden Roman was taken hostage from Be’eri, a Gaza border kibbutz, during the Hamas-led attack on Oct. 7. “The fear is that the higher we go, the farther we’ll fall. There’s a lot of anxiety.”“

I don’t see subtitles. But most of these hostages being released…almost every name read has, either had their parents murdered or their parent will remain behind as a hostage. That is why the anchor is somber. Bitter sweet.
