Maybe I'm strange, but I don't think the science fair is that interesting. I would have been satisfied with seeing the project at home.
Maybe if I had friend's ore relatives children I would go to see their project, but I just don't see a display with a diorama as that exciting.
I grew up in the era when children went to school, did THEIR own work, played sports by themselves with no parental involvement. School was the child's job and parents had their own lives. It was just expected that we went to school and played outside . We came in when the streetlights came on.
I agree -- it's no big that bio-dad didn't attend. My son had to make a school project (which we did together) and that was my reward. I didn't follow up with going to school to see it (I'd already spent hours helping him with it). He knew how proud I was of him. And it looks like he had help with his project too. The title was obviously done on a laser printer and cut in straight lines, centered, etc.
Just my opinion though.
