The problem with cell phones is you have to get a warrant to search thru them. If LE went thru her phone before they got one, everything they found on it is in jeopardy in a court of law. I have a feeling that LE wants to find Lucas but they also have to protect the investigation.

Would they need a warrant if she handed it over voluntarily? Say she didn't realize how much they could find or thought she had wiped enough to cover herself?

Even at 1-4am?

ETA: Only giving this timeline because I am figuring she would have waited until traffic was at it's slowest.

Kellogg, yes. The frontage road at Oliver, no not so much.

Liltexan- If i know about a tip called in to crime stoppers, can I discuss it here?

It’s a general WS rule not to discuss tips on the forum. This is an ongoing criminal investigation and we don’t want to do anything to jeopardize their investigation.

Just follow what LilTexans has requested and you'll be fine. A lot of folks have posted things that they're not supposed too and it may seem like that those comments are ok but that's because the mod either didn't see them to remove them or because no one alerted a mod to the post. I think some people may post things without having read the mod posts about what is ok to post and what is not, not because they are intentionally ignoring the mods but because they simply skim over the post or in their zeal to share they just share a thought without thinking if it's breaking the TOS. Just read the mod posts and follow those rules and you won't find yourself in time-out.

Yeah, that's where my confusion lies. I've seen all the things I've posted about (won't mention them here) posted about before, so I assumed they were okay.

I just went and took a hot shower, ate something, and regrouped. I'm okay now. I'm just getting too wrapped up in this case and my brain is all over the place.

Thanks. <3

Thank you to everyone who is keeping Lucas' thread updated and continuing to search and brainstorm! I wasn't able to do anything today (I had to get my brain rot covered) and I won't be able to tomorrow because I am going to the doctor with our daughter to see baby and find out if she is having a boy are girl. I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most exciting thing ever!

Good luck! Nice to see some happiness among all this mess.

Ok, all - I didn’t think about this... At Andover Central Park they have a recycling, compost dumpster available at all times. I would think that with City Hall and the library there it would be risky. I only go back to this location because she went out to this area previously. I need to look back through and see if I can find links for it. The actual dump area is kind of tucked away. Surely this has been checked though.

Well, here is an article that identifies the relative.

Here is EG's cousin's words from the article, possibly worth reading with an eye toward analyzing? BBM

On Saturday night, Kristin Edson, the cousin of Lucas’s step-mom, told KWCH that the boy’s parents are devastated.

“Very distraught. Very upset. Devastated. I mean, can you imagine? They’re just very distraught and worried about his safety. It’s cold out. We don’t know where he’s at,” Edson said. “All I know is that they took a nap around three-ish and she woke up with the baby around 6 to check on Lucas to see if he was in his room. She searched. The back door was open, and she called 911

Edson added that Lucas may also be identified by a discernible speech impediment, and said he is shy around strangers.

“He does have a speech impediment, so it’s kind of hard to understand what he’s saying when he talks sometimes. He’s very shy if he doesn’t know you. If he does know you he’s willing to come out and talk to you.”

It strikes me as a little odd that she is saying EG woke up to check to see if Lucas was in his room. And his speech impediment mention struck me at first as useful. Like, don't be surprised if you see him and try to engage in conversation. I still hope that is the motivation.

But I do wonder why this person injected herself into the coverage in such a way, when I don't believe EG had even been identified yet. And, actually, I'm just assuming this is the same relative from the on the spot interview I linked to from thread one earlier. Also assuming this relative has been active with changing stories on FB (and I'm only following here, so any mention of that came from here. I think FLA even referenced the changing stories and will try to find the comment if this is getting too far into rumor territory)

Maybe the cousins played together in the beautiful weather on Friday the 16th.

Has the creek thing that runs almost parallel to Edgemoor been searched?

I’d be happy to tomorrow. I see another “long” lunch in my future and I will take some office buddies with me.

<modsnip>

What if she said he's in a pullup. She's said it MANY times.
So, what if when he's found, he's actually wearing underwear?
Then her defense is, "See! Someone took him! I had him in a pullup. They put underwear on him!"

JMO.

The Gypsum Creek? I think so but it’s long. I was at the end by Rock Rd today and there wasn’t a ton of water. I wonder how much of it has really been searched.

Commercial pickup isn’t random, they have specific times when they are picked up and they group them by area. Having been married to a trashman for a long time, I think there is little chance Lucas would go unnoticed in a residential pickup. Commercial is a different story. It is possible. So many places lock their dumpsters, apartments tho tend to not lock those.

Is commercial, for example apartment compactor, picked up weekly? Or could they sit for a while?

IMO. Lucas was gone long before the day she reported it.

I totally agree. This could also be another reason why Tim Miller says it reminds him of Cayley Anthony. She was gone long before reported missing.

I’d remove all posts mentioning drug use or u are going to get the thread shut down. Drugs haven’t been mentioned in MSM it’s all assumptions and theories.

She lost custody of her son's because of drugs.

Has the creek thing that runs almost parallel to Edgemoor been searched?

Yes, North of Kellogg- I personally have been over there several times. From The Police substation to the Rockwell Library

Come on, folks- WHAT are we missing here?

We need to think of other things she could have carried him in.

How about those storage containers you get at Walmart to store clothing/shoes/linens in? She could have put that in the back of her vehicle and drove off and not be seen, no one would be the wiser as they just moved into their new home and those containers are quite popular.

I'm sure this is laughable, but here goes- how about a bike with a side car for children? I remember folks saying it was warm outside that day. I've been to cities, especially out west, where parents bike with their kids in a side car or a single/double stroller make for bikes attached to the back.

A wagon would make too much noise, I would think. Especially at night, though they have some plastic wagons that are a little bit quieter than the metal wagons.

How about those back pack on wheels that you pull behind you? I've seen some big ones that kids use for college that could fit a small five year old.

Come to think of it, we have suitcases ourselves that have wheels and you can pull behind you.

Grocery cart on wheels that you pull- I don't mean the ones from the store, but I've seen elderly use the fold up ones and they carry about 4 large bags of groceries in them.

Laundry bag? Is there a laundromat near by, where it wouldn't be odd to see someone carrying a laundry bag?

There *are* baby/toddler carriers that are made to support a child up to (and maybe some even higher) than 60lbs. These are quite expensive, though, and not something you can just pick up at any Walmart or Target (not to my knowledge - I haven't used one in a few years as my daughter never liked it). I really doubt that could be it, though, because I feel like someone would notice a not very large woman wearing and walking around with that large of child on her chest/back. Plus, if she disposed of it with him, it would be something JH would probably realize was missing - like I said, they are quite pricy and husbands tend to balk at the price tag for something they think are maybe not necessary. IDK. I'm just trying to throw anything out there.

ETA: These carriers (I'm not sure if I should mention the brand names or not), although advertised for certain weight limits, are popular for the fact that they can carry a load even more than the manufacturer reccommends. There are pictures of moms being silly and wearing each other (yes, weird, I know, but baby wearing mamas can be hardcore!).

Having been on the side of investigating with CPS here in Wichita, from my experience the charges EG was arrested on most likely came from the incident reported to the police by her children’s father. Once arrested, if there is drug related charges, she could have voluntarily admitted to being under the influence or have been given a drug test and failed it. Because they can’t hold you in jail indefinitely without being charged with something, whatever they have charged EG with quite possibly has nothing to do with Lucas. You have to list in the formal charges your evidence and since Lucas hasn’t been found and the investigation is still ongoing, finding something innocuous to charge EG with is serving the purpose of keeping her behind bars. And since there is still minor children involved and SRS policy is to reunite families, if EG hadn’t been charged with something in relation to her daughter, and she were to be bailed out, legally she would have access to her child.

I wouldn’t read too much into what those charges are right now. Child endangerment charges are very broad in scope and can be something like driving with your children on a restricted license, drug use, violence in the home, threatening behavior, etc....especially if there has been history of these issues in the past.
