Can you tell us which court department etc. in order to find it, please? The link just goes to the main page.
I don't know why it won't let me link it! Sorry, it's under Superior Court, Suffolk Civil Court. Search under Brian Walshe

This guy sounds like a wheeler dealer, and his wife obviously was either oblivious
to his shortcomings or as the old saying goes, "Love is blind". I think often people sometimes have their own method of coping and over a period of time she found her own way of coping. Three children in rapid succession had to be difficult under the circumstances.

Yes, re: the Globe -- to which I do subscribe -- article, "your experiences may vary" in being able to get the damned thing. For some reason, once again, the site's refusing to open for me. Ongoing issue, it was ever thus, etc.

Therefore, share all the good stuff, i.e. that first marriage factoid.

In an affidavit filed in Quincy District Court Monday, Cohasset police say Walshe, 47, told them that hours after last seeing his wife Ana at around 6 a.m. on Jan. 1, he had traveled to Swampscott to see his mother, who recently underwent cataract surgery. Walshe, who had been on home confinement awaiting sentencing in a federal art fraud case, had been granted permission to leave his home from 3 to 9 p.m. on Jan. 1 to take his mother home to her apartment, telling the court that she would be staying with him until that date. However, Walshe told police that his mother had recovered more quickly and, he said, drove herself home earlier. He told investigators that he planned to run some errands for her and went to the CVS and the Whole Foods stores near her home.

So what is the true story??
If his mother was at his place after cataract surgery, then how could she drive herself home? How was her car there? Apparently the plan was that he would look after her and then drive her home. But miraculously she drove herself home and her car was at Brian's place. If the plan was that Brian was going to drive her home, her car wouldn't have been there. That doesn't jive.

Was his mother at his house or not? Curious minds want to know.

Lots of interesting info in this article

I am not feeling good about this statement from the article:

"In a letter to the judge, Diana Walshe described her son as “the ONLY reason I get up in the morning. He is the ONLY person to take care of me and he is always there for me.”

“Unfortunately, I do not have a good relationship with my daughter-in-law,” she wrote, “perhaps due to cultural differences.”

Can you give the cliff notes? What was this case regarding?

I am not a psychiatrist, but I would assume that a long stint under psychiatric care (whether inpatient or outpatient) might involve a person being taught such things as self-awareness, how to avoid damaging behaviors, that actions have consequences, etc etc. However, it seems to have been water off a duck's back.

What’s that old saying? None so blind as those who will not see.

Re: previous Austin Riggs stay in 1999

From linked article:
"According to Walshe’s treating psychiatrist, Dr. Tittmann, “Brian felt neglected, unloved, and emotionally damaged from being used as a pawn by his parents in their acrimonious marital relationship.”

Walshe was sent to boarding school in Rhode Island and then enrolled at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg, PA. However, in sophomore year Brian’s mental health continued to deteriorate so he dropped out of school and checked himself into the Austin Riggs Center, a psychiatric in-patient treatment facility that specializes in psychiatric patients who have failed at least one prior treatment.

“His depression, anxiety, and anger left him unable to function, according to Dr. Tittmann. “There he started his long battle to overcome his mental illness.”

Emphasis mine

As Brian’s wife, Ana Walshe wrote to the judge back in 2021, “Brian has been deeply affected by his childhood and relationship with his parents. He was taught to lie and hide. He was told that he was a loser, that his parents should not have had him, that he had no chances of making anything of himself in life, and that he was a lost cause.””

“Unfortunately, I do not have a good relationship with my daughter-in-law,” she wrote, “perhaps due to cultural differences.”

Sounds like baloney. I can't see what cultural difference she's on about. Ana is European and has been in the U.S. for nearly 2 decades! <modsnip> That fits in with upper-class Massachusetts.

I think 'cultural differences' was a euphemism for his Mom saying she didn't like Ana as she wasn't good enough for her precious son so made life difficult for her.

MOO.
