With the condition of the bed slats, the fact her dog was left without food and water, the lights were left on, and that her only vehicle was in the shop being repaired, it seems likely to me she was taken by force after nightfall. And I think something ugly may have happened to her on that bed before she was taken.

I think about her a lot, hoping she is safe somewhere while fearing she is not.

Was she taken by someone she knew? I think it’s quite possible.

All my own amateur speculation.

I realize LE has no mandate to release details, but I'm curious about the state of the bed. The "bed boards" were messed up, which we are assuming are the bed slats. Were the sheets in disarray or was the bed made? Does she normally make her bed? The slats could have been messed up because someone lifted up the mattress looking for something, or because something awful happened on the bed.

I do think there is evidence of something untoward happening. I definitely do not believe she left on her own - if she ever made it back to her house. (I know I keep banging that drum but no one has provided hard evidence that she ever made it there on Wednesday night.) It's possible she was surprised at night and her purse was stolen, but why take the whole purse if you just want to steal money/credit cards etc? Her purse and shoes are missing from the house... presumably the same purse and shoes she was seen having at Cumby's.

I find it interesting that not only has the family member who gave her a ride home not been named, but we also don't know what family member claimed to have spoken to her on the phone that evening. Same family member or no?

I'm not sure she made it home and neither am I sure she talked to anyone from her home phone that evening. I think the phone call is only mentioned in one article and/or NamUs. It stands out to me since the daughter's version of events has been reported synonymously throughout SC's disappearance.

SC was last seen on Wed, Aug 9 about 5 p.m. when she was dropped off at home by a family member.

Crispo spoke with a family member later that evening via home phone.

Has it been established if her grandchildren were in the car when she was dropped off at home by a family member?

Thank you. If she was babysitting that day, where could the grandchildren have been? Were they picked up earlier?

My thought is that they went with SC to leave her vehicle with the mechanic, and they were either with her when she was dropped off at home (if she was) or they were driven home (their home) first. Hard to say with the information available. MOO

I think there was an earlier post about that. It said that the children were with a different relative on Wednesday, because Barbara was busy with her car repair.

Uh oh, I don't remember that. I don't have time to look for it now, but I will unless someone else finds it first. MOO

I’m getting confused too because I thought that was the day the kids were at the beach with their mom, Sandra’s daughter.

Here is the post I was referring to :)
Since Laina was still in Boston, another family member picked up Sandra and the boys and drove Sandra to drop off the vehicle at a mechanic shop. Security footage shows Sandra getting out of the car and going into a Cumberland Farms to buy cigarettes, after which she was taken home.

Laina said she discovered the back door was unlocked. Once inside, she noticed her mother’s shoes and purse were gone. The air conditioning and lights had been left on. Inside the refrigerator, there was watermelon already cut up and ready for the boys to eat.

The house was left in a condition that is consistent with going to the auto shop.

There is no evidence that Sandra, her shoes, or purse, ever made it back to the house after Cumby'

I’m having trouble understanding
“another family member picked up Sandra and the boys and drove Sandra to drop off the vehicle at a mechanic shop”

Did they drag the car behind them? Why would someone need to pick her up at her house? Wouldn’t she have just driven her car to the shop and then have someone pick her up and take her home?

Maybe I’m just slow tonight like WS is sometimes!

I have to look, but there's an article floating around- she realized something was wrong with the car when she had her grandchildren with her. Relative picked up all of them. Take with a grain of salt until I find it ( of course the updates on the web articles mess everything up)

I hate where my mind goes sometimes, but.......what was wrong with her car that day that needed immediate attention? Nothing for us to be suspicious about, such as the possibility of it being tampered with?

I’m getting confused too because I thought that was the day the kids were at the beach with their mom, Sandra’s daughter.

Laina told Dateline her mother was last seen on Wednesday, August 7. Laina had dropped her sons off with Sandra in the morning as usual before heading off for work. Laina said her mother later discovered she was having mechanical issues with her vehicle....................

......................On Thursday, Laina’s mechanic, who checked out her mother’s car, called Laina to discuss needing more parts. Laina had that day off and was enjoying the beach with her children. She called her mother to tell her the news about the car...........................

“another family member picked up Sandra and the boys and drove Sandra to drop off the vehicle at a mechanic shop”. Could a family member be an ex husband ? Just spit balling here

I think if her vehicle was towed, that would have been included in the story. We've heard about purse, shoes, watermelon, bed boards, the beach... so I'm going with SC drove her vehicle. For now. I'm also assuming she made it home. For now. I have my doubts.

Wednesday: SC had the boys, had car trouble, took the car in for repairs, and a family member picked them up at the mechanic shop. They stopped at the store on the way home, then SC was dropped off at home. (It's unknown if the children were taken home before or after SC.)

Thursday: SC's daughter and children were at the beach, she received a call from the mechanic, and she called SC who didn't answer.

*****Subject to change at any time. MOO

That’s what I have in my mind after reading and re-reading the articles over time.

Bump for Sandra.

Purse and shoes gone. But lights on, AC on, and back door open.
Did she walk back to the store? Perhaps she had forgotten to buy something on the earlier stop.
Did she decide to walk to a nearby pub or restaurant?
