At the second press conference,The Da said they were making progress. Making progress could have meant that they found out he was a male, and she fought hard. Then other types of progress could have meant, we got the FBI involved with the case, or, the autopsy is now completed, or we have interviewed her friends etc.
One other thing to keep in mind, is, I am sure they would have said that just to make the people of Princeton, and her family confident they were going to catch this guy, by saying things like "we are working around the clock on this case."
D.A. Early is a nice guy, however, I got the sense by the way he was stumbling over his words during those press conferences, that they didn't have much to go on.
I see. I don't want to criticize them because it seemed they were being very tactful, but I honestly do not understand the lack of progress or more at this point in time.
