Too clean. They've got that honeycomb we've heard about though. Wasn't there a piece found a couple of months ago, rumour it was from a Japanese rocket, did that ever get cleared up?

Was trying to find a pic of MH 370; I wouldn't doubt the pieces are from a boat.

"Marking the anniversary, the council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) in Montreal adopted new measures requiring aircraft to have tracking devices that can transmit location information at least once a minute when in trouble, effectively providing real-time updates.

Other new measures, also brought in in response to the MH370 mystery, include extending the duration of cockpit voice recordings to 25 hours.

The new requirements “will now greatly contribute to aviation’s ability to ensure that similar disappearances never occur again”, said Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu, president of the ICAO council.

The changes will take effect between now and 2021."

I'm so pleased this is being done so no more families will have to suffer relentlessly not knowing what happened to their loved ones should tragedy strike in future. However it is a great pity it took 239 people to die for these changes to be implemented.

None of which help if the plane just disappears.

Fears MH370 wreckage is being hoarded as souvenirs after South African family comes forward THREE months after finding debris

South African family found a piece of debris on a beach in Mozambique

Debris is suspected to be from missing Malaysian Airline's flight MH370

Family came forward with debris three months after finding it on holiday

Similar resemblance to debris found two weeks ago in Mozambique

Raises concerns as to how many pieces of debris people may be hoarding

What the heck?! Who would even do that?!

(mind you, stranger things have happened: we had a case in the UK where some bloke found a human thigh bone in some woods. He took it home but didn't report it. Weeks later the rest of the body was discovered, it hit the news, and the man came forward. Weirdo!)

Wow.

So I googled that SN- 676EB. I found a manual for a Boeing 777 and a bill of sale for a Boeing 777, which labels that SN as being on the access panel:

I think we're finally starting to see an influx of these parts being found, and hopefully one step closer to solving this mystery.

Good thinking to google! I wonder if it broke off right after the plane went down and soon found itself on the beach? Maybe that's why it doesn't look like it was floating for years and why there is no marine life on it

Great find!
Maybe those who are examining for months to determine if debris is from the plane should try googling first.

So, could this access panel part be from the wing or the tail?

Great idea!
It makes a lot of sense.

Thanks guys! I worked in the Avionics field and every single part has a serial number. It's for FOD control-- Foreign Object Damage. If everything is labeled and given a part number, it helps to ensure everything is on the aircraft. Also, there is ALWAYS a publication for each specific aircraft that has all of these PNs in them. Since everything is online now, I figured there had to be at least one publication that was open to the public. I bet these investigators already know where it's from, but just not telling the public yet. Otherwise they shouldn't be in the aviation industry! Haha.

That piece the teenager found on the Mozambique beach was a very big one.

"It was so waterlogged at that time, it was quite heavy. I struggled to pick it up," he told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. The curved piece of debris is about 3.3 feet (one meter) long, and about half that length wide, his father Casper Lotter said.

The honeycomb structure indicates it is either the leading edge of a wing, or a horizontal stabilizer.

Now I wonder if it did have marine life on it that fell off.
