I just watched most of the testimony of the expert witness who is an expert in adolescent brain development. IMO, he was extremely knowledgeable, based his remarks on scientific findings, expressed himself well, and shed a lot of light on the issue of rehabilitation possibility for a juvenile's Miller hearing/sentencing. The defense counsel did a good job of preparing her questions, and I also thought that the prosecutions's cross-examination was very good.
I know we will hear more expert testimony on Tuesday of next week when the court resumes this case, but at this time I think that EC will not be sentenced to life without parole. JMO, but the expert testimony was incredibly powerful, IMO.
Nonetheless, if EC receives a 25-40 year sentence he still may not be able to be rehabilitated and then a parole board can deny him parole throughout his life. As the expert witness testified "the possibility for rehabilitation exists, but it is not a guarantee."
