strange how one paragraph can contain both the best news of the day and the most devastating news of the day. It's like, yay, they have evidence... They can prove their case beyond reasonable doubt and put dad of the year away for good...and then it hits that to prove a murder case beyond reasonable doubt they must have proof that precious little bianca is dead. oh no... They have evidence...

Yes, it is bittersweet. Though the alternative, of knowing someone has been murdered and not enough evidence exists to convict is far worse imo. And sadly we know those cases exist, and exist here at WS.

Way early on in this case I was harping away at this being a very likely no body murder case if she was not found. I still feel strongly it is, and we'll get to see what evidence exists when it goes to trial. Maybe we'll even be lucky enough to have a local able to attend the trial and then post back with updates.

This must be a horrible day for Banika and her family. My prayers continue to go out to them.

No worries it happens.... and reminded me of the funniest time that same thing happened. Very early on in the Caylee Anthony case Val, the owner of the hinky meter site, inadvertently started posting numbers in Caylee's thread, thinking she was in the countdown from a million thread. Not just once but maybe 8 or 9 times before she realized she was posting in the wrong forum. :laughcry:

It was a time when posters were heated and admin was about to go through the roof. I was just lucky to have seen it when it happened so I could explain that the poster was not trying to be snarky and happened to have two windows open.

So no worries, it happens... and I needed the laugh today with the reminder about the countdown thread mistake from years ago.

Gotta find some humor with this tragedy or we'd all lose our minds and not be able to follow these cases as we do.

Oh and on a Caylee Anthony note - to tie that into this case. I am not going to speculate much on what evidence the prosecutors may have. I'm not interested in handing DL's attorney a defense strategy like Baez was handed for Casey's defense. No.Way.No.How.

Other than to say I am sure they have more forensic evidence than just the cadaver dog hits. Those dogs hit in too many places for DL to have cleaned up all possible forensic evidence.

Lane was arrested in December shortly after Bianca’s disappearance for violating conditions of a personal protection order. Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Cheryl Matthews ordered Lane to take an anger management course after he violated the PPO that prohibited him from contacting his ex-wife, Rakiba Mitchell. He was later released.
When Matthews learned Monday that he had failed to attend the course, she ordered him jailed again. He is currently serving 14 days in the Oakland County jail. Lane is scheduled for release on March 23, Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Wesley Beltz said.

Reading between the lines of Kym Worthy's announcement re: the charges today, I feel strongly that there are witnesses. She intimated that DL had abused the child on the day that she disappeared. This suggests to me that there was a witness to the "paddling" or whatever the he!! he did to the precious two-year-old. jmo
