Can someone post a brief synopsis of the Dr. Phil segment about Bianca? Was there any new information, anything that we didn't already know?

I don't know when D'Andre's court appearance is scheduled and won't be home to watch the news at noon. Maybe I'll hear something on WWJ radio while I'm out in the car.

Interesting article. I'm not going to try and understand how they were a victim of a reverse mortgage. I'm just going to say, I'm glad the community has offered a hand up during this difficult time for Banika, both with her home and a job with other Army veterans. I was unaware until today Banika is an vet. She was given a job working with homeless Army vets. It sounds like something she seems to enjoy according to the article.

Also from the above article, it still doesn't appear Banika is on board with believing her daughter is deceased. She's scheduled to testify today...so we'll see how it goes.

The toddler’s mother, Banika Jones is expected to take the stand in the Preliminary Exam Friday. She says she hasn’t given up hope that her missing daughter will come home.

She also believes Lane had nothing to do with her disappearance.

“I’ve never seen any implication of violence in him. Never. I don’t feel like I can comment any more at this time,” said Jones. “I’m going to let things play out in court as they should.”

Interesting the statement about believing Lane had nothing to do with her disappearance is not a direct quote. We'll see how the testimony goes today. Hopefully a local will be able to give us some updates as BDE won't be available for the noon news.

I made the quick round-trip (half hour) to the allergist's for my shot and was home just after the 12:00 news started. The Bianca report was several minutes into the newscast with very little info other than D'Andre's appearance in court today. I'll check for a link.

I don't/won't watch Dr. Phil but would appreciate a quick review from someone who can stomach him. I can't. He comes on here at 5:00 when I'm usually watching WDIV news or HLN.

I saw the show, it was on here in FL this past Wed. Banika was there with her sister and Dr. Phil commented several times to her he thought she was in denile in regards to DAndre.

The show was taped before he got arrested.

Not much as far as "new news" but Dr Phil had his LDT guy on there that explained to Banika that after a LDT the police will generally let you know whether or not you passed(I didn't know that)

LTD guy said 95% of the time if you pass you will be at some level involved in the investigation. If not, then of course it goes the other way (lol)

Banika stated her frustration at the mainstream networks for not very much coverage in Bianca's case like they did with Baby Lisa. She thanked Dr Phil for airing the show.

She believes Bianca was taken and is still alive. She has to feel that way imo.

They also had a long segment about Trenton Duckett. Josh was on there with his mother and Melinda's parents were on as well. The 4 had NEVER met or talked to one another and had some pretty serious words. (sorry for the ot from Bianca)

I did want to add that Banikas sister isn't quite so sympathetic about DAndre. She didn't say much but when she did that was the feeling I got.

On the stand, she testified saying she saw him spank the girl on her behind once when she was jumping off furniture.

Outside the courtroom, Jones told Action News it was the only time she saw Lane hit the child. She also said she would also have disciplined the child the same way, but Lane was nearer to the girl at the time.

Following Jones' testimony, Bianca's aunt, Mary Ford-Grandy, took the stand. After allegedly being carjacked, Lane ran to her nearby home. Ford-Grandy said it took nearly 15 minutes to console a hysterical Lane before she was able to call 9-1-1 for help.

ETA: Sorry, this is just the short clip to show what the show is about, but Bianca was suppose to have been discussed first then Trenton Duckett. I'll keep looking.

I haven't kept up with this case extremely close but here's what happened on the show..

Banika and her sister were both on as guests, and Dr. Phil covered Bianca's case for about 15-20 minutes (first half of the show) before moving on to a different case. Dr. Phil said his producers had invited D'Andre and his attorney to attend but they said they only would following a LARGE list (that Dr. Phil put up on the projector) of stipulations (what not to ask, etc) and Dr. Phil's producers declined at that point.

Dr. Phil basically just asked about the day Bianca was last seen and what Banika and her sisters thoughts were on D'Andre's carjacking story. Banika went over the story that D'Andre gave her about what happened, and she stated NUMEROUS times that she "didn't really keep up with the media, was only going off of what LE has told her" and she also seemed very very cautious as to not implicate D'Andre in any way. In fact, if I remember right, when asked if she believed D'Andre had anything to do with Bianca's disappearance she said no.

The live-in girlfriend of D’Andre Lane took the stand, saying she heard Lane beat his daughter the night before she went missing in December.

The woman, whose identity was ordered to be concealed by a judge, said Lane used a homemade paddle that consisted of a wooden stick, a sponge and duct tape to discipline 2-year-old Bianca Jones when she had accidents while toilet training.

The girlfriend said she heard the toddler get spanked three or four times, and was crying harder than ever before. After sometime, the woman, who had been sleeping upstairs, said she no longer heard the child crying. She hesitantly admitted in court that she never again heard Bianca make a noise.

Friend Rico Blackwell said he talked with Lane the morning Bianca went missing, and when Lane stopped his car, no one else was inside

IIRC wasn't this notated backthread with a picture presented to court and we were trying to make out the person's name? They saw D'andre right before he alleges there was a car jacking? Correct me if I'm wrong please.

I'm not good with maps, so I can't map these places out, but I think the timeline says something like this:
1. D'Andre Lane's home address
2. Dropped off T (nephew) at home address
3. Gas station stop
4. Best Academy (daughter) drop off
5. Wayne State College stop
6. Lane meets R. Blackwell? (this one I can't make out and don't know what/who this is. Anyone?)
7. Video sighting of Lane's vehicle
8. Lane reports car-jacking call to 911

Bump. There it is. R. Blackwell. No one else in car that Mr. Blackwell saw, then Lane reports carjacking.
