MI- Jennifer Bernhard and Stevie Smith killed during targeted child abduction in Washtenaw county

Shuvonne Vinson launched into an expletive-laden tirade after a Washtenaw County judge read the charges against her.

Vinson, 42, along with Gregory Callahan, 37, are both charged with two counts of homicide, two counts of kidnapping, assault with intent to murder, home invasion, conspiracy, and weapons charges — along with a slew of others — in connection to the New Year's Day tragedy in Northfield Township that left two people dead and a third wounded. Another suspect, Keith Findley, 60, is also charged but refused to be arraigned on Friday, said Magistrate Odetalla Odetalla.

It sounds like Jennifer & Jeffrey had the foster child in their care almost since birth? I guess my first question is how did they know where the family lived? We've had this same conversation in other cases where something similar happened, I guess in today's world it's not hard to find names/addresses.

My thoughts are with Jeffery and their daughter, I hope they are surrounded and feel comfort. There is a tremendous amount of public support for them, as evidenced by the crowd source funding effort online.

“Out of respect for my family, I don’t know that there is anything else for me to say other than that my cousin Jenny and my great uncle Steve were kind, caring, genuine, selfless, God-fearing, and the most loving.

My great uncle Steve served others his whole life with his wife Linda through missions, and they passed those characteristics down to their kids. He was witty and funny and deeply involved in his community. I was blessed to see him on Christmas Eve and just a few days ago at Jenny’s on NYE.

My cousin Jenny was full of love and Jesus’ Light. She was an amazing cook and took after her mom. She was sweet and soft, and her and my cousin Jeff always wanted to help people. They never hurt anyone in their life; all they wanted to do was better those around them.

The only fact bringing me comfort is knowing that when they saw Jesus face to face, He said to them, Well done, my good and faithful servants because they lived their lives serving the Lord.

Taken from us too soon and too tragically and it will leave a hole in our family without them.

I live very close to this area. Unfortunately, they were taken off the streets way too late. They don't belong in the jail, they belong under it.

Shuvonne Vinson told a man that “if the police were not going to chase her, she would kidnap her daughter,” reads an order issued Oct. 23 by Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Cylenthia Miller.

“Mother also discusses the case inappropriately with (the girl) and responds inappropriately when (she) refers to her Foster Parents as ‘Mommy’ and/or ‘Daddy,’” the record reads. “Mother is in therapeutic services for her mental health.”

Police point to an interview with a 9-year-old witness of the shooting for some details, according to transcripts of a hearing that ended with the approval of 10 felony charges for Shuvonne Laverne Vinson.

Click on Detroit, which shared a clip of the appearance, reports Vinson is the biological mother of the foster child in the family.

"They deserved to die,” Vinson said in the online hearing. The arraignment was interrupted by bursts of comments, often crude, from Vinson, rendering most of the hearing inaudible
