Exactly nanandjim. Motive is a key component to proving murder.
JY is the only one with a clear motive ( a long list I might add).
The Prosecution does not have to prove motive to the jury in order to gain a conviction. Always nice to have, but unnecessary legally.

It's hard for me to think like a murderer; however, there is no way that I believe a random killer would want to take a chance and stick around long enough to shower in this home. His thought would be to get away from the crime scene as soon as possible.

If it were random (which I don't think that it was), the killer might grab some of Jason's clothes--assuming that he would know where things were kept and assuming that they would fit--and change into them. However, he would not stay and shower.

It was no random murderer who showered there. It was no random murderer who changed into perfect fitting clothes of the husband. I don't believe it; and neither do the police. I'm not an idiot; and I know that they aren't idiots, either.

Jason knows that he did it. He also knows that it is up to the police to find enough evidence to arrest him. He is just sitting tight, not saying a thing, hoping that they won't find enough evidence.

I can't wait until Jason finally decides to press for the insurance money. He'll have to sue for it, IMO. It will be interesting to see what transpires, then. I think, at this point, he is afraid to ask for it and won't press for it...not because it wasn't part of the motive, but because he doesn't want to rock the boat, at this point.

Interesting...and what would be the motive for this crime? Just because...

Only Jason stood to benefit. This was not a rape, burglary or robbery. In addition, this was extreme overkill. Very, very unlikely that it was a random murderer.

Actually,

We don't know rape....the AR doesn't rule that out.

We don't know burglary/robbery....there is some dispute about jewelry.

Random.....LE says not.

Her car was not impounded by LE. There is news footage several days after the murder where her Honda is clearly shown in MF-Y's driveway. I guess they took a quick peek inside just to satisfy Tharrington-Smith ?

"Several days" with MF-F's car? Not just one day? I reckon LE had time for more than just a quick peek.

Do you know if LE got a search warrant for MF-F's car? Nothing has been said about a warrant returned and filed, but maybe LE is holding it for some reason? Maybe you've heard something?

The entire property was roped off as a crime scene. Hence, MF could not take her car for several days. We do know there is no search warrant for MF's car. Why would there be ? I am sure she gave permission to LE to do what ever they wanted with it, and they did.

Not the only one, but I'll let that go for now.

Your "motive" indicates to me you thought JY-Y had a plan. He thought, "If I do this, I will get...."

Money? .....Not.

Freedom?..... Not.

A nicer house?..... Not.

A better job?..... Not.

A better wife?.... Not.

Afraid I can't come up with your "long list" of motive.

You really think he is so stupid he didn't realize he would be the prime suspect? As such, none of these things would come to him? Come on, Barney!

Not only did this rapist / murderer take a shower, he pulled up MF-Ys panties and pants. I guess he was just trying to make it look like no rape occured so he would not be charged with that also ?

Oh no. There was no plan. This murder was not carefully planned. Jy is smarter than that. The motive I refer to is simply Freedom from a bad marriage. No need for the long list after all.

If MF-F did not give LE permission to search her car, LE had to get a search warrant. What makes you think she gave permission?

I believe the possibility exists that a stranger would use the shower if covered in Michelle's blood. Perhaps they had been watching and knew JY left with suitcases and she was alone with Cassidy.

I think it's a very long shot, but it is within the realm of possibility, imo.

A stranger, random killer, sitting outside, hoping, on the off chance, that the husband leaves with suitcases, so he can go in and murder a pregnant woman, who he doesn't know, for no reason at all?

Wonder how many days he sat out there to wait for Jason to leave -

If I was going to just randomly kill someone, I think I'd pick a woman who lived alone and not have to sit outside and wait to see if the husband every left......

In my case, he'd be waiting a long time - my hubby is home all the time, lol!

All I can do is check the AR for information. Makes me suspicious to see nothing in the AR about sex. Surely the ME checked.

You can't have it both ways, Barney. If he had a motive, he had a plan.

As I said, I am only looking at the outside possibility. I still have indigestion from the crow I had to eat in the Runaway Bride case, I swore that guy killed her. From then on I always leave a small percentage that I could be wrong, tho in this case I doubt I am....lol:angel:

Excellent post!

Yep, that's exactly how a random murderer behaves, get all bloody and take a quick shower. Who wouldn't want to take a chance on being caught all wet, cold and slippery?

Not to mention Nekkid!

He had a plan alright. It was just not very carefully planned.
Some folks get stirred up over the smallest things. Some people even commit murder over those things.

--Jake

JMO, but she had nothing to hide. Why wouldn't she give LE permission to search her car? Barney saw all the search warrants. There wasn't one for Meredith Fisher's car. However, I did read in the beginning where LE had her car for a day.

"in the beginning" you probably read Barney.

Barney only saw the search warrants returned and filed. The SW for the hammer/mallet is not filed yet, either. Who knows how many others?

No, I read the story on one of the local news channels, thank you very much. If you insist, I'll go back and find it for you.
Nice of you to admit that the SW for the hammer/mallet hasn't been returned.

Oh I did that Friday? Maybe Saturday.
