She’s good on cross! Less performance!

I know we don’t know anything about the jury, but I’m wondering if any of them suffered from drug addiction. If so, I think all of the drug testimony might sway them from the defense.

I was wondering about his covid, so according to this witness, she recalls his covid test came back positive in late March.

This reminds me, @Lilibet and @Sillybilly, you both had mentioned his covid in the last thread. I had been meaning to comment that I do think it’s entirely likely, based on what we know about covid, and you know L first hand, that he could have had post effects, trouble breathing, hence his mentioning of this from the onset. I have some neighbors, a young healthy couple in their twenties, who told me they’re out of breath all the time.

(I figured this already, jmo.)

Didn't state ask her a question regarding whether GF ever had trouble breathing and she said no IIRC? Seems unlikely if he had Covid not long before. Obviously some suffer more than others. Wonder whether defence will circle back.

No wonder he’s wanting to plead the 5th!

Indeed, a drug supplier. This gentleman (pleading the 5th) can also be seen passing the counterfeit money back-and-forth to GF via the store’s video footage. IMO, we’re starting to get a visual of someone taking advantage of addicts.

Here’s something I want to mention, I haven’t watched her cross yet, but going back to GH: I can tell you from experience, that when you know someone is going to tear into you, you have to put up a tough front, and put on your thick skin: I have to do this sometimes in my job, and it’s a protective type “mode” I have to consciously put myself in, to not get pushed around or bullied. I just wanted to say this, wrt to some who found GH to be combative, as related to her interaction with the defense, that it reminded me of when I have to put on my tough girl suit (because really I’m sensitive and don’t like conflict).

Highly probable someone on the jury at least has a friend or family member who has struggled. It is a very widespread problem.

Yes. I genuinely believe GF did not know the bill was fake.

I think he’s trying to purger her. Is purger a word? Lol

What you may be thinking of what is going on is witness impeachment, which is the approved method for attacking the credibility of any witness. It is for the jury to give weight and make the decision.

Perjury is the crime of lying, for which is a charge. It actually is RARE that folks are charged with lying on the stand as it is so very common MOO. Hard to prove, and as we saw yesterday in court, even eye witnesses are WRONG, but that was their perception/opinion.. vs. lying. MOO

she would be well served to just answer the question..."if that is what I said" by now she knows he has the statement.

We are now finding out GF was in the vehicle with two drug dealers, possibly getting a variety of drugs. IMO, I’m going to say “getting” and not “buying” because I think there’s more to this.

Sounds like Morries Hall was a drug dealer. I’m not surprised he wants to plead the 5th.

Speaks to a hypothetical that I had posted earlier.. hypothetical...

TBH, what can that person add? Is it relevant? e.g. what if he admitted to being the one that gave George the bills in the store, and was using George to wash the counterfits per se. This would move it into a much bigger question, one that I have had, is where is the counterfeit ring as George didn't make them. IYKWIM. It just opens up a big worm farm for the case as to the counterfeit monies MOO, and I don't see how doing such benefits this case at this time. More justice for George that that ring is disbanded?

#DerekChauvinTrial - Ross says in May of 2020 they had both fallen back into opioid addiction.

Ross says Floyd was a very active person. "He liked to work out every day", liked to play sports with neighborhood kids...."he would do anything physical".

Ross: Floyd tested positive for Covid in late March 2020.

Now Nelson on cross-exam.

Nelson going over the interviews Ross has had with various law enforcement agencies and prosecutors.

Ross says they would buy drugs from friend Morries Hall (he has filed a motion to invoke the 5th if called to testify) He was with #GeorgeFloyd at Cup Foods & in car that day.

Morries Hall (red hat/red shorts) with #GeorgeFloyd inside Cup Foods on May 25, 2020.
