Given the sheer volume and weight of discovery evidence and testimony against KC, they are worried about the more rare attorney client meetings in jail? Priorities, priorities, priorities?

It seems that they are NOT focused on the case at all but more focused on a means to seek a 'mistrial' as promised to KC due to ineffective counsel -- due to circumstances outside their control.

All I can think is that there is something already on tape that's extremely damning if it gets out in the public.

And I want it.

ETA:

According to those who've seen the jail video, Casey Anthony is watching breaking news coverage of the discovery of a small child's remains near her home. She reportedly doubles over, then later, according to witnesses, asked for a sedative.

Baez said the video also captured part of his meeting with Casey Anthony in jail that same day. Although there is no sound on the video, Baez claims it is a violation of Casey's right to attorney-client privilege.

I'll start with that one.

Good Lord. Could these guys act any MORE like their client is guilty?

Gosh, I could just SWEAR I am remembering it coming out of JB's mouth himself. Sort of with a smug attitude about why they couldnt' use the rooms without video cameras and I kind of felt right then and there he was using it as an excuse for later on down the line. Oh I'm looking everywhere. Could it be in my imagination? :waitasec:

Wasn't JB complaining about the sound being taped - that sometimes that intercom made clicking sounds like someone was listening? So for that reason he asked that neither the video of the meetings nor the conversations of the meetings be recorded, so there is never a chance of them being released.
And I remembered JS ruling if the media petitioned one or several, that JS would view them on an individual basis and it would be he that the decision to release or not to release.

Was that not it?:waitasec:

...and what the heck is going on in these meetings that makes them any different than other attorney/client conferences?

IMO They are drawing more attention to themselves, the case and Casey than needs be. :twocents:

But jail officials say security cameras do not record audio during attorney-client meetings. They wouldn't say how many cameras they have at the jail, but did say they have more than a million square-feet and almost all if it is monitored by security cameras.

So even finding a place for a private visit becomes difficult, but there are rooms that can accommodate such meetings. Still, jail officials say, by law, Anthony deserves nothing special inside their walls.

“Orange County can't just be required to modify its jail security procedures for one inmate,” said Tamara Gappen, Orange County.

Oh good. I thought the drama was just about drained from this case.

Really we need to have some sympathy for the defense in this case - because apparently there is no appropriate defense to these charges. So they fill the air with a windstorm of paper-filled motions, hoping to find something to stop the inevitable they can feel marching slowly towards them, and knowing they will be crushed under the weight of the evidence.

OT - this case has gotten to me so badly now I'm having action packed visions about it!

QB, that's exactly what I thought. I couldn't remember who said it though. For some reason I thought it was brought up in a hearing. Something to the effect that JB could request a room without video surveillance and he has not done so.

BBM
Exactly LC, he has not done so...
Just like he could have agreed with the Prosecution when they filed a motion to obtain a Gag Order..but we know Baez argued against a Gag Order in this case (That little tid bit I will never forget)

Here's the quote, but I'll be darned if I can find the article. When you click the link for the article the Chicago Tribune comes up but it's supposed to be Orlando Sentinel.

Jail spokesman Allen Moore said jail staff does tell Baez where to meet, but he can always request a different room, one without cameras

I honestly don't think that it is right that they could release the Attorney/Client videotaped visits. I 100% agree that they should be able to videotape them for safety reasons and if any kind of unexceptable behavior were to happen then it would be caught on tape and not just the word of corrections officers observing from another room.

But, again they are filing yet another motion of something that has been ruled on. JS needs to put his foot down.

I agree Lola :)

Could just me be jumbling facts but I thought the lawyer for OC mentioned rooms without video in her presentation in court. Will go back and have a look.

Is it possible that KC may come a little unglued at these meetings and that is why they want to make sure no one ever sees them?

Yes it does appear that way...it seems they have spent more time on these kind of motions and on the Media circuit than on deposing the witnesses involved in this case and getting ready for a trial. :twocents:

JB wants his cake, IIRC I think JB complained the other rooms were too small to move around in. Pick one.

Why is the defense wasting the court's time with the issue of the video taping of attorney/client visits? Judge Strickland has already heard this motion, and has ruled. Is the defense now coming back and objecting to Judge Strickland's ruling? What on earth is so damaging to Casey that the defense feels it o.k. to keep bring up this issue in court? ...and why was it so important that the defense wanted all of those tapes destroyed? Does the defense really think that Judge Strickland would allow any of the attorney/client tapes to be released to the media/public? Is this paranoia?

Have faith Debs...IMO Casey's Defense team will find ways to rev up the drama and put media focus back on the case so they can say she is being pilloried by the press.:twocents:

I'd bet it's more than unglued - has temper tantrums, uses her favorite f word and definitely has her "ugly" face on while her lawyers are trying to reason with her. Definitely not presenting a sympathetic picture for any potential jury.

Heh heh, there'll be "no dancing today" in the attorney/client meeting rooms.
