Pike County police say relatives found 32-year-old Ericka Hall lying drenched in blood by the family's mobile home in Magnolia just before midnight on Friday.

She had been stabbed multiple times and shot once in the chest with a small-caliber handgun inside the home before staggering outside.

'She was stabbed in the back. The knife was still in her back,' Robin Coney, the victim's aunt, told WLBT.

'The girls, when I drove up, they were like: "Tee Tee we didn’t do this." And I was like: "OK, if y'all didn't do it, where were y'all when the people that was doing it did it?"'

Sheriff Kenny Cotton said deputies and paramedics tried to resuscitate Hall but were unsuccessful.

The 14-year-old daughter, Amariyona Hall, has been charged with murder as an adult and is being held at Pike County Jail on $150,000 bond. She is pictured in her mugshot

wow. I cannot imagine a worse tragedy than looking in my children's eyes as they are stabbing and shooting me. What a horrible death. RIP Mom.

Woman slain; daughters, 12 and 14, charged

Cotton said mental evaluations are pending for both.

“They’re charged with murder and we’re going to apply the law,” Cotton said.

The sheriff said deputies heard reported that the girls attacked their mother Friday after they tried to run her over with the family car earlier in the week. The mother had reportedly punished the girls after that and they rebelled with Friday’s fatal attack.

“With something like that, she should have made charges and had them arrested then,” he said.

Cotton said it’s difficult for him to comprehend the nature of the case.

“I can’t imagine what’s going on inside their minds to process that,” he said. “A mom is a mom no matter what.”

I had to read this thread title a couple of times! I mean what on earth? I can't imagine why they did this

This reminds me of the murder of Nikki Whitehead by her twin daughters. But they were 16 and these two are even younger!

I had thought that maybe it was an abuse situation and the children were reacting. But the aunt's comment that the girls were giggly when they denied it seems to rule that out.

I can't imagine what could go so wrong with such young siblings to commit such a terrible attack.

I had thought it might be an abuse situation too. But then I read that other relatives lived a few homes away, in the same trailer park. So I think the girls had other alternatives, as they weren't isolated from help.

I am going to predict that we will eventually find that Mom was just strict, and was trying to enforce reasonable rules. JMO

I wonder if these girls will get the same mental treatment that the slenderman killer girls got.

Why would they? Do they believe in a made up horror meme?

Both sets are children, who likely are suffering mental illness and need treatment.

What about these kids make you believe they are not worthy of being treated the same? What about them?

Pike County deputies heard the girls attempted to mow down their mother earlier in the week, according to the paper.

“With something like that, she should have made charges and had them arrested then,” Sheriff Kenny Cotton told the paper.

Cotton identified the older girl as Amariyona Hall. He said she was being charged as an adult. Her bond was set at $150,000 after being booked into the Pike County jail.

Mom took their cell phones away so they tried to run her over with the family car. That failed, so they shot and stabbed her.

It doesn't mean they are mentally ill. They might be, but they also might just be cruel and heartless brats.

And the two lil girls in Wisconsin lured their friend outside and stabbed her multiple times and left her to die alone. They are just as evil.

But yet they were not tried as adults, they were stashed away in mental facilities and treated with kiddie gloves.

Wonder whats the difference between these two sets of girls.... hmmm?

My point is, especially knowing the statstics behind minorities in the US, the fact they lived in a trailer park, that they likely did not have adaquate access to mental health professionals. These girls are still children and I hope they get HELP not a prison cell.

In the slender man case:

"Three psychologists agreed that the two girls shared the delusion that the internet character Slender Man would kill them or their families if they didn’t kill their sixth-grade classmate. Geyser and Weier were both initially charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide in the attack on their friend, Payton Leutner."

So the 'slender man' girls were initially charged with attempted murder. During the course of the trial, they were found to be legally insane and were then sent to a mental hospital.

If these two sisters are found to be legally insane, they will also be sent to a hospital. But I am not sure they fit that category. Killing a parent for taking away your phone, is not technically insane or delusional.

And I don't think it matters that they live in a trailer park or are a minority. I don't think either of those things are to blame for their anger towards their mother. JMO

They knew what they were doing...... If they go with the mentally insane defense thet will have a hard time with that given they tried to kill their mother earlier in the week by running her over.

I suspect they will be tried as adults (as they should).

They sound like sociopaths, to me. And if they tried to run their mother over, that's an indication they were dangerous. Such a sad event!

It seems like trying to run Mom over is attempted murder and LE would press charges. If it was something like an argument, things broken, then I would understand.
