This part of NG story is clarified. This is good. The conflicting info was a major red flag in the timeline for many of us.

Now, how was Nancy supposed to get to the friend’s house? Uber or drive herself? It doesn’t seem like someone she knew was going to pick her up.

NG normal mode of transportation is unclear.

Jan 31- Uber 10 minutes to her daughter’s house. Driven home the same night presumably by daughter or son-in-law around 9:48 pm

Feb 1 - Expected at friend’s house for online church service but doesn’t show.

IMO

My cardiologist tells me that I might need one some day, so I'll get back to you! :)
Only if you live outside of the US. Looked it up ~ "Used (reconditioned) pacemakers are generally not available for purchase in the U.S. but are refurbished for "compassionate use" in developing nations at no cost through specific programs"

Well, a perfectly good and expensive pacemaker isn't going to be buried with its owner.
My vet said pacemakers can’t be reused by people but they can be donated to the animal world. IMO.

So then what data is synced to the phone/watch? If her heart stopped, wouldnt the pacemaker show it was repeatedly trying to get a rhythm?
I am not an expert at all, I just heard a LE official on TV talk about it. He indicated the data would be confusing and perhaps inconclusive because the little pacemaker keeps beating whether the heart is alive or not. He made it sound like they wouldn't know if it was the pacemaker or the heart beating.

Perhaps someone can refute or verify this.

It means exactly what she said (6 times).

FOX NEWS WILL BE ALLOWED AS A SOURCE FOR THIS CASE ONLY.

Here is post 1 of 6: AZ - Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

And scratch the word "only" in your post. She's allowing it, in addition to other approved sources. It's not the only allowed source. I think I understand. Web sleuths provides a list of approved sources when discussing cases, and the use of unapproved sources can result in suspension.
I know she said it 6 times which is why I asked for clarification. So Websleuths has a list of approved sources that can be used on this forum and in this particular Fox News is on the approved list but in tother cases Fox News may not be on the approved list. Got it. Thanks. Haven't been here in a while.

As I understand it, pacemaker location cannot be tracked but as it needs to be in close proximity to monitoring device (phone or watch?), if they have data from the pacemaker on them they would be able to ascertain the last time and location she was with her device. I need to go back over the timeline as I cannot remember what was stated about the pacemaker data.

Well, I'm in Australia. I'll ask my cardiologist next time I see him. But that's what I heard.

This has been cleared up and also the New York Post has stated that the friend called Annie to ask about Nancy.

8 days of Search & Rescue; and the majority of LE now believe the kidnapping was another hoax. What's left? A missing woman, possible foul play involved... much like so many other cases that do not get solved 🥺
Likely foul play. 1( A local tweaker ran out of money in the middle of the night and decided to break into a house to get something to trade for drugs and NG fought him. Things went South and he hid her body nearby to stall for time or 2) A family member was tired of waiting for their inheritance. Possibly drugged her while at dinner then went back to finish the job and disposed NG nearby. I agree the kidnapping is an opportunist trying to make money off this tragedy. Edited for spelling error.

I think it could only tell them when the pacemaker was in range of her monitoring device, the last communication time between the devices and from that, they should be able to tell her location whilst she is with her phone. So they should know for sure if she was at home in the early hours of the morning or if she never returned home (in the case of her phone being planted).

Edited to add, I have just read a previous post stating the devices only tend to sync once a day.

I think you have to be within a certain distance of the device it is synching to

The client I currently care for has a Pacemaker/Defib -- She has a Hub that data is sent to in her home, which in term is sent to Boston Diagnostics. BUT it will only work if she is within 100 ft of this Hub. Outside the 100 ft it will not connect to send data, but will as soon as the Pacemaker is back into radius.

The hub only collects data, the Pacemaker/Defib will continue to work outside the Hub area (example Client had issue at the dentist, Defib went off).

That would be my opinion, too. I think the kidnapping was an opportunity and/or a distraction by the person/persons who are responsible for her disappearance or by someone who is not involved but seized an opportunity to cash in.

It seems less likely that a "kidnapping" was planned.

I hope that the search for her amps up now since she hasn't been returned.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department has said that Nancy took an Uber to her daughter's house,

which is about 10 minutes from her own home in the Catalina Foothills, just north of Tucson, Arizona, for dinner and some

Mahjong on Saturday, Jan. 31.

At the end of the evening, police say, Nancy got driven home by her son-in-law, Cioni.

He said detectives have since interviewed the Uber driver, who the sheriff said is not under suspicion. The driver has been “very open.”

Thank you, I appreciate that information.
I wonder why her son-in-law didn't pick her up? He dropped her off, so it couldn't have been a drink-driving issue.

For sure can be different in different countries. I’m in the US.

Poor Nancy. It's not looking good.

Which brings me to my question - who ordered the Uber for Nancy?

My questions are:
1) LE has never said the crime scene was "disturbing" or that they suspect she is deceased based on the crime scene. The family seems to believe she was/is alive and the FBI/LE have been entertaining the ransom situation. Is there any reason to believe NG was deceased vs kidnapped?

2) a robbery gone wrong, involving a random(ish) person rarely involves complete removal of the body. The perps simply don't plan to transport and dispose of a body. Clearly NG was removed. What are theories behind removing NG after a botched robbery?

3) Lack of suspect evidence in the house. How did a random-ish person(s) keep sterile during a robbery gone wrong? My opinion has been that the lack of foreign DNA is because the perp is someone expected to be in the house. So how did a random person avoid any DNA evidence?
**you would expect worker DNA in some parts of the house, but not in a bedroom for example
1. Perhaps LE did not see any signs of a struggle, lamps knocked over, etc. Or large quantities of blood, etc. A weapon present, bullet casings, etc.

2. Robbers generally do not want to murder people. They are committing a business crime, and want something tangible. Perhaps a robber who thought a well do to older woman would have some cash on hand, or pain meds, etc. We have not heard that NG had anything of considerable value in the home, like valuable art or jewelry. So not a robber with a great deal of experience or well thought out plan?

A robbery could go wrong and result in a death. In that case the robber panics, a routine robbery suddenly goes very wrong, all of a sudden he is facing the death penalty or life in prison. So spur of the moment, he decides to stage the crime to look like something else, or just wants to hide the body to buy time, confuse the police, hide evidence, etc.

Can I ask how readily available Nancy’s address would have been prior to the incident? Im not American but I know you guys have public record websites. Is it something a person would have been able to easily retrieve? In my country that data is somewhat protected.
