They seem to be testing a variety of help.

Perhaps the use of the word “some” could reflect say: main and current employees.

Depending on the organization / size of the landscaping, pool, house cleaning businesses, the number of people with access to the home could be small and relatively unchanging, or relatively large.

For example, pool and landscaping companies have many accounts, and rotating crews, including new hires , people who have left, etc.

If so, the number of pool and landscape guys over a 12 month period could be relatively large.

That's right she had a pool. I'm sure she hired people. When I had a pool, I had to check levels and skim leaves every single day, year round, (But mine was near a tree)

I don't see her needing much in the way of landscaping service however. I'm thinking probably had a quarterly service, unless she was picky about having leaves blown and everything deadheaded. Based on Google Street view, it looks like she had major trims and brush removal in winter and by November, things had grown over again. Not unusual in xeriscape. Her small lawn in the back appears to be artificial turf.


If her house was built in 1975, it always be in need of repairs! Never ending type stuff.

I feel like someone brought Nancy to the house after she was injured. I feel like they moved her there so they could figure out what to do. I feel like the initially thought they would make it look like a burglary..but then they decided it was too risky and faked a kidnapping.

Occam's razor theory seems to point to this, yes.

Kidnapping for ransom has not panned out.

Robbery would not require taking her out of the house, and nothing was taken.

I didn't get that impression. In fact, she stated that if anyone saw or knows anything to contact LE. I'm glad she's finally using her platform this way, which I'm sure is because she was cleared to do so. Either by law enforcement themselves, her own handlers, or both.

SG on her insta has a wider reach than any billboards, tip lines or LE efforts. She is just using that to get more people looking around and I don' think she has lost confidence in LE. Is she happy about the first couple of days and time lost? Probably not but now all resources are working to find her mother.

Good morning to everyone.

Just a brief comment: the word I keep coming up with when thinking of this investigation by LE is "reticulated". The impression of incomplete steps as they move forward, and having to back up to do something they had skipped is difficult to explain other than to say the crime is extraordinary for the area's LE. This is not to say that they are untrained, but rather that the nature of the crime and the identity of the victim have brought on a degree of pressure that is not helping.

The thought that they are being "toyed with" by actors other than the perpetrator(s) doesn't leave me. Why they have not figured out WHO might be manipulating them and the reasons for this I cannot explain. The world has, in recent years, become harder to decipher...there are too many tools that, when used for nefarious motives, can negate their positive utility.

It has been a long time since NG went missing, and there are too many factors pointing at the possibility that she succumbed to the emotional, physical and mental stress, and possibly to injuries conflated with her age-related health issues.

The person(s) who committed this crime, whether intentionally (because they "planned" it? Quite a clumsy plan, IMO) or accidentally (because a moment's flash of anger escalated and they panicked) must be found. Not because SG is NG's daughter, but because this sort of thing is becoming more and more commonplace in our society.

Could someone in a position of experience and, for lack of a better word, "authority" in this forum please peel back the layers of speculation and make a condensed list of facts and times that we have verified as closely as possible? I think that would help at this point. Think of an outline as if for a school project (is that still a thing? It was when I was young, but we wrote on stone tablets back then); Part 1 times and places, Part 2 people, Part 3 verified evidence like blood, etc.

Something like that would be helpful for those of us who are not constantly on here, and need to catch up?

The same could be applied to her hearing aid. Assuming she wore it during the day and took it out at night, a NY Times article said they were in her home. Would indicate she did make it home and was in bed.

I believe this is the article but it's behind a paywall. If you search 'hearing aid nancy guthrie NY Times, you can see it's mentioned it was found in the home. (no idea if it is true and AFAIK, it's the first mention of it)

I'm not the person you are directing this to.

But from my understanding the sync only happens once a day. In this case at 2am. Meaning it is not in constant updating mode. It only uploads the daily results once a day. And if the once a day update time was regularly 2am. It means by that time she was not near her watch. However it doesn't mean that was the time she seperated from her watch.

If she had say flown to Paris at 10pm and left her watch at home. It would also try to do it's daily update at 2am and put out a result that it couldn't sync at 2am.

LE has not been very specific with what they mean with the fact that the watch couldn't detect the pace maker. So it could mean a number of different things.

I think 'syncing' and 'connection' are being confused here.

IMO her pacemaker would have had a continuous bluetooth connection to her phone. At 2:18, that connection was lost. Presumably because it was out of range from her phone. It's likely she had a notification on her phone and that was logged in her pacemaker app.

Not an original idea, but one I'm starting to favor: Hired or freelance kidnapper/murderer went to the wrong house. Discovered their error either before or after they took the person who was there (if before, maybe didn't know what to do with an old woman who could ID them). In any case, took Nancy. And maybe even decided to continue/invent a ransom scenario when it became apparent deep pockets were involved. The last part would depend on how closely the original "ransom notes" described the crime scene.

This could very well be possible. I was looking up the two other recent deaths in the neighborhood (on crime map), and noticed a lot of the street names are similar. There just seems to be no good explanation for any of this

My understanding is that NG would meet up with friends at a local home to watch the service online. I doubt SG would be able to tell if her mother is online, unless they chat about it later. Especially with the time difference.

NOW YOU'RE THINKING! SG was also out of work due to throat surgery just prior. Admirer/stalker not seeing her on TV...Now she's leaving for MILAN. Wacko person wants to see her and misses her TV routine. Decides now is the time. Demeanor of SG in latest video was almost sheepish..i DID NOT view that as a defiant or desperate video. Putting all this via INSTAGRAM , IMO, was at the ransom writer's direction. Might be a person who zealously stalks her on INSTAGRAM. I am thinking that LE might have looked into a stalker by now..might have zeroed in on something...and SG realizes she was the impetus behind the stalker's abduction of her mom. Being part of SG's STORY>>being connected to her. Think like a criminal or nut job and you will have your answer..JMO. MOO

Agree about the difference in her demeanor on the last vid - yes, almost sheepish! As if, ok bud, might be time to start calling your bluff...and hopefully that works out!

Completely agree. He is usually very boisterous and accusatory.. but not in this case. IMO, he actually acted more like a President in this case showing great restraint.

I am thinking he is being briefed that they think they know who it is LOCALLY and are gathering evidence.... and that the ransom note is a cover up or unrelated money grab.

This entire investigation needs to be retooled fast.
Everything that was done for the last week was half-@SS because nobody, Pima sheriff, FBI, family knew exactly what kinda crime they were looking at, so there was no focus on anything.
It was the family, I think, that latched onto the now apparently bogus ransom notes. Understandably, I think, because it gave them hope. The FBI was lukewarm about it but felt obliged to help the family, and the sheriff’s department never bought into a kidnapping. A week of kicking rocks, climbing roofs and playing flashlight tag in people’s houses.
What we’re left with is, no robbery, victim’s blood, no clue why someone took an 84 year old woman. It’s starting to look more like a crazy, with a strange unknowable motive, perhaps related to SG. I’m thinking a Jaime Closs type thing. Possession more important than money.

I saw your original post and when I went back to comment, couldn't find it. But I did want to say that your idea isn't that far fetched. Something with this entire case is off.

I'm sorry others made fun of you and that is something that should NOT be allowed. This site is supposed to be a safe place for everyone. I too am amazed at how rude others can be when a viewpoint, that is different from theirs, is shared. This is why I don't post a lot, because I have a very low tolerance level for that sort of thing.

Septic/well records that were pulled for Nancy's home. They have no record of a well and state they are connected to the City of Tucson water services. For septic it looks like they had a smaller septic tank that caused drain field failure back in 1991, so they then had 1,000 gallon septic tank installed. Here is the map portion of the approved permitting paperwork if anyone is curious.
