Seems to me that if a family member were in dire financial straits, SG would not hesitate to help them out. JMO
That depends on how much SG has helped them out financially in the past. There comes a time when enough is enough.

Am I imaging things, or was there a video of AG reading some of her poetry?

the whole ransom demand (multiples) thing has always felt off to me, like a red herring. Opportunistic individuals jumping on a hot case involving a "rich" family member's missing parent. But I have been loath to suggest a family member is responsible or that NG is dead.

With recent searches seeming to suggest LE is interested in AG's home, NG's home, and the space between I am forced to examine the possibility that NG may not have made it home at all that night and whatever happened at her home later was all staged to suggest she had. Hard to know if that theory holds any water though because without knowing where in the home cameras would be focused, the whereabouts of AG household members at later times in the night etc. MOO not a lot to grab onto to even form a theory.

I'm not suggesting NG ran inside to leave her phone, but that someone else did. And put it in a unexpected location for the "ransom note writer" to know, to prove he was the abductor.

Now, before I go off to be my very adult self doing very responsible and necessary things, I will propose this: many advice blogs, magazines (AARP comes to mind) and "pundits for the elderly" give abundant advice on where to leave keys, wallet, phone, etc. so as not to "lose" or "forget" them. It is drummed into us that the best place is "always the same place". (This, however, has not stopped me from leaving the timer I've set for some task in the catastrophically wrong place...analog timers defrost better than digital ones, for the record.)

Anyone who has any experience of older people knows that we must guide our lives by routines that help us to remain independent. The likelihood that she has a specific place assigned for her phone is quite high, and it cannot be discounted that a repairman, cleaner, etc. would be able to notice this at first glance.

(Word of advice, when you are expecting someone to be working in your home for a long time, whether it's several hours one day, or several days/weeks, move the things that can give them intimate knowledge of your habits.)

All this, except for the advice, is opinion.

I have to go make some banana bread now...will peek in later. Lord knows what this brain of mine will do while chopping and mixing and mashing.

I thin
Another thing in support of this is would the POTUS really get involved if this solely appeared to be a garden variety homicide with disposal of a body?
Its a high profile case. That tends to draw attention from those who normally would not speak on that type of situation

Back online after 12 hours off...

Is FBI Director expected to make a statement today? I heard he is visiting Tucson today as part of the pre-planned visit.

I would be more inclined to say Russia than the cartel. I just personally can’t see the cartel operating this way but I have no problem seeing Russia operating this way.
Russia gets the blame for much of what our own three letter agencies are doing. The cartels are powerful.
But then I have no idea where Mrs Guthrie is. I just pray she is safe and well.

The bar example I used and that I included in my theory is absolute conjecture - based on the timeline and the locations of AG and NG residences - mostly
Oh, I personally understood that. :)

Considering the FBIs involvement i would anticipate it

5pm is fast approaching and I’m waiting for another video from Savanna and her family to say it’s been paid. But I’m questioning why they are even posting the videos? If they know they’ve made the payment, why would they show that to the world? Also, if they don’t make the payment, what are their options? It’s very unlikely N is alive, I believe she was killed before she was removed from her home. Does the family believe her remains will be returned? I know they are wanting that, but I have a hard time believing that will happen due to risks of being caught.
Could be that they're posting the videos because the (invisible) ransom note writer has demanded that of them (all in an attempt to control and to publicly shame the family)?

Also...might it be possible that the Guthrie siblings have paid something -- but just not all that may have been demanded of them?

Seems the sheriff has led us astray regarding the pacemaker and communications with the iphone or watch. After reading what many WSers have provided about their own pacemakers, it seems that the pacemaker will make an attempt to communicate with iphone/watch just one time per day to download data, it is not a constant monitoring situation.

Thus, the timing of the iphone message is not indicative of when she actually went missing.

All just my opinion after reading many WSer experiences.
I'm not sure that's entirely accurate. I believe there might be some confusion about the actual connection of bluetooth between the two devices.

While most if not all pacemakers don't have real time monitoring between the devices, rather instead an interrogation at certain times. I do believe they would still show connected to ones smart phone.

While there might not be data transmission or "syncing" continuously, they would still show a connection while in range IMO.

Would it be possible that when Investigators said the pacemaker app said disconnect from phone that it was referring to the app losing basic BT connection to the device and not actually losing connection while in the middle of an interrogation?

Edited to add: 2:28am seems like a random time for an interrogation to be taking place. MOO

Yes, pacemakers can maintain a Bluetooth connection with a phone app even when not actively interrogating.
This allows for continuous monitoring and data transmission to the app, providing patients and healthcare providers with real-time information about the device's status and performance. For instance, Bluetooth-enabled pacemakers, like those using the MyCareLink Heart app, facilitate ongoing communication, ensuring that important data is readily accessible without the need for frequent manual checks and reconnecting to Bluetooth.

I'm not sure, I do not live in the US 😟 I meant whether we can expect a much bigger press conference today led by the sheriff with the FBI Director present too (e.g. like the CK press conference in September).

The first ransom note was received MONDAY of last week BY TMZ AND A COUPLE OF LOCAL NEWS AFFILLIATES. Another poster said they were following from the beginning and no ransom note was from the beginning....well, There you go...By last Monday, it was all over the news.
I don't disagree with the conclusion that this was in the news before the first ransom note was received by media (we do not know if any other attempts were made to contact the family or send the note prior to that). But because the timeline here is so confusing, and some of these details may end up mattering, I think it's really important that we try to get the facts straight.

Per reporting by News Nation, local news affiliates and TMZ did not receive the note at the same time, and TMZ only received it on Tuesday, not Monday. Specifically, they say:

"KOLD received the first ransom note at approximately 5 p.m. Monday"

and then

"TMZ received what appears to be the same initial ransom note Tuesday morning, approximately 12 hours after KOLD got it and about an hour after a second Tucson television station received it."

So, it appears that there are at least three separate times that the note was sent to various media outlets. It did not all happen on Monday.

Regarding the “church call”, what changed in approximately 17 hours between the filing of the complaint and the sheriffs presser? At approximately 6:02 PM on February 4th, LE had realized the ransom was a hoax by Callella. The last pressor from the Tucson sheriff was February 5th at approximately 11 AM. Lack of follow through from whoever filed the complaint? It just seems odd to me that the church call was added to the complaint but omitted from the timeline and pressor.

Yes they are. I was raised in Texas and now live up north. I love Texas and it’s a shame what has become of the southern and western borders. Cartels are powerful and people are very afraid of them and sadly, LE is paid off by them and working for them. I mean some of the LE. I have many friends in Tucson. It’s a wonderful city, now controlled by cartels.
I have lived here since 1972 and I was unaware of this information...

Agreed. And asking for money often involves strings and can shift power dynamics.

My heart rate jumps every time I get up to go to the bathroom. Also, a Sleep Number bed shows exactly how long you were in bed, how long it took to fall asleep, etc. Actually, my Fitbit indicates that as well, but not in bar chart form.
Exactly. Heart and breathing rates would be much higher if very active and nervous as with abducting a person or disposing of a body.

I keep asking myself ….Why would a kidnapper hold on to NG for a week? Just doesn’t make sense, to me. This gives FBI more time to investigate. The risk of NG perishing increase by the minute.

I’m on pins and needles today, as most, hoping for good news but I don’t see this ending today, even if the ransom is paid.
