AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

I agree about the family - if they were involved, I'd think LE would have discovered so much leading to them by now they'd be in for extensive questioning, if not in custody. I can't see it for the reason we've not seen anything like. We have AB reporting him being a possible suspect and that's pretty much it.
the whereabouts of family seems to be unknown. I don't know but "extensive question" or interview could be done where they are staying? Or do they have to come to a station? Given the media attention more interviews may be going on off site?

Regarding the “church call”, what changed in approximately 17 hours between the filing of the complaint and the sheriffs presser? At approximately 6:02 PM on February 4th, LE had realized the ransom was a hoax by Callella. The last pressor from the Tucson sheriff was February 5th at approximately 11 AM. Lack of follow through from whoever filed the complaint? It just seems odd to me that the church call was added to the complaint but omitted from the timeline and pressor.
It’s entirely possible that whoever drafted the complaint didn’t even realize that the church call was dropped from the timeline. Maybe it was a clerk in the prosecutor’s office who wasn’t watching the Sheriff’s press conference. Nanos made no mention either way.

Not many outside of Websleuths, IMO, have noticed the omission. (Credit to Axios for keeping up to date!)

Up until today, I’m pretty sure CNN has been including the call in their published timelines (I may be wrong about this!). It only stuck out to me because I’m watching for it now, thanks to the Websleuths discussions.

I agree...but I find it hard to square (if we're looking at AG and SIL) that they would be dumb enough to make up a fake church call (easily verifiable) and also savvy enough to send this type of ransom note.
I must have missed something. Is it verified that AG and SIL made up a fake church call?

DBM; I think I misread

If the bar visit thing is based off my theory - then it was made clear is was my thoughts and was an example of the timeline making some sense. If the bar visit is traced to another source - then just know that my mentioning of it was purely a theory based on the timeline and under my assumption that AG may not be involved and could have been lied to about someone's whereabouts
Moo…If the SIL was hanging out at a bar after dropping her off …I believe locals and the bar would be calling this out. Some secrets you just can’t keep. Moo

Sorry, but this train of thought reeks of racism, I won't entertain it.
I thought people were trying to figure out if contractors visiting the house might have set up the kidnapping. Doesn't matter the race of contractor. Don't see race in any scenario where a worker may be involved.

I keep going to back to language of the video posted on SG's instagram on Saturday. She says "This is the only way we will have peace, this is very valuable to us - and we will pay." I just feel like the wording is so strange. I would think she would say "she is very valuable to us" if she were still alive. (I very much hope that she is). JMO
The wording of the family and how LE is treating the investigation does make it seem like they think she's no longer alive. I wonder if they've gotten any clues in that regard, or they're just being realistic based on the situation. 😞 Not a knock, but I would expect LE to have a bit more urgency if they expected she was still alive ... the investigation drawing on for over a week with few clues makes it seem very grim.

Of course, that being said, I do hope there's a chance she's still alive 💔 Heartbreaking situation all around.

Not one new thing, and some of the old stuff isn’t necessarily fact. Stuff I believe-Nancy is missing. Apple Watch in the house. Nancy’s blood on the porch. Garage door opened and closed. Nancy ubered. 911 was called. Pacemaker interrogation failed. A camera detected motion. Doorbell camera is missing.

A search with potentially FARO scans a week after NG goes missing was "consensual" and "expected"? I don't think that was routine at all in my opinion or just "clearing" them. If they needed to be "cleared", would that not have taken place earlier in the week? jmo
I agree. And you’ve really gotta just consent for optics, because they’re almost certainly able to get a warrant otherwise.

And you KNOW all this how?
#1 - Research cartel kidnappings and murders outside of Mexico. Look at history of such things.
#2 - Lack of a rational motive for a cartel to kidnap an 84 year old woman and then keep completely quiet about it, hide their identity, and maintain secrecy.
#3 - I don't think I need to prove commonsense with the Epstein part.

This seems like rational commonsense. But, I'm willing to (and want to) hear the logical counterpoint.

The "cartel" as most people would define it, is a non-starter for me. Too high of a risk and attention for what in their world would be a relatively small amount of money.
Agreed. $6M is not worth their time to get in the car.

The sheriff went on the record in the first press conference that she needed vital medication or her medical situation could become fatal within 24 hours. The family then referenced the need for her to be taking medication in their Instagram video days later, implying the searches of the house revealed her medication had not been removed. JMO but she likely has passed, bless her soul.

Very good questions. We know media is all over the homes/neighborhoods but what about LE locations to see who is coming and going there.

THERE WAS NO BAR VISIT AND THERE WAS NO SPUTUM IN THE BLOOD.THOSE WERE SPECULATIONS BY POSTERS OR UNINFORMED AND UNCORROBORATED MUSINGS BY POSTERS. THE SHERIFF MENTIONED THE CALL FROM THE CHURCH LADY ONCE. THAT HAS NEVER BEEN DEBUNKED. IF SOMEONE CAN ABSOLITELY VERIFY A BAR VISIT, A PLACE WHERE IT WAS VERIFIED THAT THERE WAS SPUTUM IN THE BLOOD OR THAT THERE WAS NO CHURCH LADY, PLEASE POST IT HERE AS THIS IS GETTING CRAZY. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN POSTER'S OPINIONS ARE TAKEN AS FACTS. SOMEONE OPINED THAT IF SHE WAS BLEEDING FROM THE MOUTH THE BLOOD SPOTS WOULD CONTAIN SPUTUM. NOW SUDDENLY , THIS IS THE NEW BENCHMARK..
Bolded by Tricia PLEASE READ
Same with NG having an inside camera. If that was explicitly stated by law enforcement? I didn't hear that. The sheriff stated there was a notification from a camera that a person was detected. But he explained that notification means movement was detected and it could have been an animal. I haven't seen any substantiation that NG has a pet currently. Meaning, IMO, the camera that sent notification about movement was outside.

I agree.

My father was a teacher and he had to be very cautious about where he was seen. This was back in the 1950s-1980s and it was in a very conservative town, so perhaps I'm applying an old-fashioned set of rules to how things are now.

What that is saying is if LE asks them to track user XYZ, they will then turn on the logging function for XYZ to capture future sessions. So useless for past sessions. Do I have that right?
Yes, that's what it's saying. (Whether there's more to it than that, I don't know.)

A slight aside, while we're discussing VPNs: something I've said to clients (I work in tech) is that if I were working at an intelligence or law-enforcement agency, I would make sure the agency was running a popular VPN as a public service, in much the same way that the CIA once secretly bought and operated Crypto AG.

In 2020, an investigation carried out by The Washington Post, Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (ZDF), and Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen(SRF) revealed that Crypto AG was, in fact, entirely controlled by the CIA and the BND. The project, initially known by codename "Thesaurus" and later as "Rubicon" operated from the end of the Second World War until 2018.

If he's asking for Bitcoin, he must know how to delink his name from it. Takes a bit of sophistication and previous use.
Sorry, I initially replied to this and I think I misread what you were saying, so I deleted that. Giving it another shot 😅

I actually kind of think this might suggest the opposite. If you're sophisticated, there are better cryptocurrencies to use to stay truly anonymous than bitcoin. Bitcoin is still widely used by criminals, so it doesn't rule that out. But I also think that it's exactly what an unsophisticated person would reach for — it's the one they likely have heard of, and they may not actually understand how hard it will be to convert to USD or another currency without giving away their identity. There are ways that criminals do this (or, really, they just use banks in countries that won't cooperate with US LE), but it does take some work and a lot of criminals have been caught this way. MOO

It’s an extraordinary courtesy if the family (SG included!) isn’t taken to the station to be questioned and make statements, IMO.

IMO, interviews are done “downtown” for many reasons, many of them psychological reasons. It’s easier to place someone under arrest when they’re already surrounded by police, haha. And the interviews can be observed by LE higher-ups and legal counsel, and recorded.

However, I see the advantages of a casual interview on a subject’s home turf. As long as it’s “by the book”, it’s probably the same thing, legally, IMO.

Happy to be corrected if any of this is not accurate!

Unfortunately I don't have the source, so take that with a grain of salt (it could also be totally false). I can't remember if it was here or elsewhere someone quoted someone online saying that the SIL (not the sister, for clarity) had gambling debt and that there was also debt for either the SIL or AG for something else. So, it may not even have been worth pointing out to be honest. I think something like that could be an interesting factor, if true, of course in no way indicative of guilt!
Does someone have to be in debt to motivate them to commit a violent crime for money? Could it just be envious of other's lifestyle? Anxiety over future financial resources? Or even someone hating their job and seeing no other career path?
