What does this mean? Only Fox News can be used as a source for this case or Fox News cannot be used as a source for any case except this one?

Fox cannot be used as a source for any case except this one.

Not good if true:

Federal agents arrived in Tucson last week to an icy welcome amid a harrowing search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of “TODAY” co-host Savannah Guthrie.

She was abducted by force from her home in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood in northern Tucson around 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 1, according to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos.

Law enforcement sources described a delay in local cooperation with federal investigators — with days going by before they let them into the fold.

Huh. IMO this would explain the additional searches that were done at NG’s & AG’s. It always seemed to me like someone was running down a checklist saying, “ok did you do this? Ok, how about this? No?? Well go do it! Ok great job. Now how about this? No??? Well go do that too!” Maybe the additional searches that some of us were surprised weren’t done initially was because it took awhile for the FBI to get in there and make sure all investigative leads were done.

But if she charged her watch in the same place, it would have be a known location to almost anyone who came into the house, i.e. cleaning, repairs services, visitors, etc. For reference, I leave my charger plugged in and in the same location. Then I just place the watch there every night before bed.
That's a good point. Perhaps the ransom-ers are people who do know NG and were opportunistic, but not the actual "abductors"? Just a random theory, haven't thought about it before but it's a good point

Was t there a statement somewhere early on they found her watch or cell phone in her car?? I read it somewhere!!

As you note, the info about the location of the watch and the condition of the floodlights could leak. Here are some thoughts about that, which may be relevant whether the people who sent the ransom messages were involved in NG's abduction or not.

Levin says that the location wasn't standard. Two things that aren't clear to me:
  • Was the watch in an unusual location for NG? Or did NG routinely keep or charge the watch in the same unusual location?
  • With regard to the floodlights, is it certain they were okay prior to NG disappearing? Or could they have been damaged earlier?
With those open questions, who might know about the location of the watch?
  • People involved in the abduction
  • Family members, if they saw the watch when checking the house or heard from LE where it was, or if NG routinely kept the watch in an unusual location.
  • People involved in the investigation.
  • If NG routinely kept the watch in an unusual location, people who helped out in the house
Who might know about the destruction of the floodlights? If the lights were okay prior to her abduction:
  • People involved in the abduction
  • Family members who may have seen the lights when checking the house or may have heard about them from LE
  • People involved in the investigation
If the lights were damaged prior to the abduction:
  • People involved in the abduction (maybe)
  • Family members who may have seen the lights when checking the house or may have heard about them from LE
  • People involved in the investigation
  • People who helped out with the house.

All the right questions! I have no answers :-) I’d be amazed if LE hadn’t considered them, though.

This person can be used as a source until further notice. I reserve the right to remove their approved status.
Wow! I just watched his video, honestly he should probably be a comedian. Shocking though he called the SIL "creepy looking dude" at the 6:16 mark and at the 7:07 mark said "she's certainly not going to be sex trafficked, Who the hell would want that?" His semi truck mouth ( I could do better) makes me think he should be a comedian. IMO
Edit to add: For those who didn't watch this video I want to make clear that the quotes I brought up of statements by this attorney were NOT funny, however the other things he said in the video made him seem more like a comic VS. an attorney. Sorry for any confusion.

If they didn't have a search warrant than anything they found would likely be barred from evidence at trial.
Maybe that is why they said they are going back there to both houses again? (tonight? based on 'new leads'?-- IF they have now obtained an official warrant)

I would be INCANDESCENT with rage if I found out local authorities hadn't welcomed the Feds with open arms and coffee to assist in finding my apparently kidnapped mother.

Are we allowed to discuss something that was just said on Vinnie Politan Investigates on Court TV?

This seems odd. Why put up billboards in Texas? Unless they think she is alive and being m
Wonder if all the billboards are east of Tucson? Do we know if any are up going north or west? The ones in TX seem so deliberate.
In one of the articles it mentioned San Diego and I feel like also near LA (but I am less certain on that).

YALL...she might've taken an Uber because she wanted to have a drink at dinner...maybe she just didn't want to drive...maybe sil and ag were fixing dinner and it was easier for her to Uber there...
This is said in my perimenopause alabama accent...and just my opinion. But my eye is twitching again with the Uber speculating....😵‍💫

Sounds like that Sheriffs Dept is a mess.

And THAT is why they have to keep going back to the houses. IMO

Also sounds like that's why it seems like two independent investigations, one suspecting kidnap/ransom and assisting the Guthries to facilitate that investigation, and the other focused more on, ahem, "local" suspects.

We haven't really seen FBI and Sheriff's investigators cohabitating outside of the press conferences from what I can tell.

It also explains why WE THE PUBLIC have been wrestling with both sides of those scenarios.

A shame.

I know this wasn’t the point of your post, but I clicked the link and it clarified the circumstances to someone alerting her family she was missing. I know a lot of people had been confused about that so it’s nice to see some clarification.

AFAIK CourtTV is an approved source.

It's utterly ridiculous that LE has clearly passed on privileged information to Harvey Levin. I don't care if the kidnapper shoved the ransom note up his rear end, it's beyond corrupt for LE to confirm the accuracy of any of that note with him.
The ransom note was sent directly to media outlets not the Guthrie's or FBI (which was one of many atypical characteristics of this "kidnapping')

TMZ, along with local Tuscon TV stations were the recipients and forwarded it to the FBI, so Levin/TMZ know all the details.

The note, which was sent to us Tuesday morning, demands a specific substantial amount of Bitcoin

Question. How long would a bike ride take from AG house to NG house at say 1:30am with no traffic and back roads?
20 min bike ride

do we know for sure that it wasn't sent to the guthries or LE?

I'm with you about the ransom appearing days later. I don't think we know if an initial ransom was sent immediately to the family, or not. DEVIL'S ADVOCATE: Maybe the kidnappers didn't like the fact that LE hadn't announced an original ransom, so they figured they'd go through TMZ, knowing they'd probably release it to the public.

I'm still entirely baffled why people believe it could all be a hoax. NG was obviously taken from her home - call it what you want, a kidnapping or abduction. If LE thought they were dealing with a homicide, they definitely wouldn't have NG's kids pleading for her return on national television all these days later. Regardless whether NG is alive or not (I hope the latter isn't the case), it would be difficult for kidnappers to care for an immobile, 84-year old woman with a pacemaker, in need of daily medication. You know what else would be difficult? Removing a body from her home, then trying to find a place to hide it.

FWIW, I am totally stumped.
So so true! I agree with every word you said!
