Does anyone else feel SG could have made a more explicit statement to take the heat off AG? For example, "I know there is a lot of discussion right now and people are trying to help - but please, my sister had nothing to do with this - she is hurting just like I am, and I would ask you to be respectful"?

For all we know she may be blaming the sister or had some turmoil w/ her. I am not privy to their relationship but humans interact and react in many ways in crisis (shifting blame, guilt-tripping, whatever). Maybe she doesn't feel that is necessary or she would. We don't know the real dynamic there at all.

Yes.

If NG wore dentures/partial, she most likely would have worn them for dinner at her daughter's on Saturday. If LE found such dental apparatus at NG's home, that would be an indicator that she did return home after dinner. (This assumes she habitually removed the apparatus to clean it before going to bed).

The same could be applied to her hearing aid. Assuming she wore it during the day and took it out at night, a NY Times article said they were in her home. Would indicate she did make it home and was in bed.

I believe this is the article but it's behind a paywall. If you search 'hearing aid nancy guthrie NY Times, you can see it's mentioned it was found in the home. (no idea if it is true and AFAIK, it's the first mention of it)

I'm sure she was told not to say anything that might interfere with or compromise the investigation. Even if she felt that way, she wouldn't have been able to say that.

she just can't do that....she is saying what LE approves and not getting into the case.
I agree and that opens a whole other can of worms for people to read into

I feel so bad for Nancy, she had cameras installed but not the software that records data, she probably thought she was safe at home :(

Her statements are direct about her missing mother. That is what is important now.

Any ugly accusations directed at family members may be dealt with down the road.

Yes, I understand that. My question is what is the point? If you're supposedly so close you attend the same event (in person or virtual) but don't acknowledge each other? What is the point of attending then?
I have relatives out of state but we watch the same sporting events, TV shows, movies at the same time so we can text, email, or talk on the phone about it. It is fun to connect with relatives this way.

Welcome to the conversation. I myself do not believe AG and SIL are perpetrators or involved. However, there must be a motive for what happened and it's probably financial.

Some will point out that there is apparently a great financial disparity within the 'G' family. AG and SIL are also saddled with day-to-day responsibility of keeping an eye on NG. The other siblings live thousands of miles away. Over time, in theory, resentment can build. A resentful person may think it would be nice to get a slice of NG's estate sooner rather than later.

For myself, I think if AG and SIL were involved this case would have been resolved by now.
Thanks for the response, I agree.

To those pointing out the financial disparity and possible resentment, I get it. That can be common in families. However, NG was fairly independent, and from what we know, she wasn’t draining financial resources from her family members. Not to say there wouldn’t still be some sacrifices they’ve had to make being the ones who live closest to NG, I’m sure it’s hard carrying most of load of caring for their mother.

But IMO, AG and SIL would have to have quite a bit of resentment or be in complete financial turmoil themselves to resort to planning the murder of their own mother/MIL. And to think they’d get away with it and think the risk is worth the reward. Is it impossible? No. But from what we know right now, I just don’t see any evidence that indicates this is the case.

Savannah has had AG in every video except the latest one, but still mentioned her siblings in the one yesterday. Presenting a united front. I think she truly believes AG/SIL are not responsible. I know this isn’t concrete evidence, but I believe Savannah is a smart woman, a lawyer with a history of covering crimes in her journalism career, and we’d be seeing something different if she has any inkling AG or SIL was involved. Loving adult children who don’t have a history of issues (criminal or otherwise) don’t typically resort to violent crimes involving their parents, IMO. Again, I’m basing all of this on my own gut feelings and I could be wrong.

they are putting this on digital boards all over....easy to do and often billboard companies will put it on as public service info and no charge. Takes a few minutes t o get it up. Like an amber alert.
IMO the RN author has requested this. He's really liking the attention of all of the videos, commentary, etc. He's causing quite a ruckus and he's probably within 12 miles of NG's home! MOO

First time I’m hearing that. Do you have a link?
from the update:
A source close to the Guthrie family says key details about how Nancy Guthrie was discovered missing on Sunday, Feb. 1 have been reported incorrectly.

According to the source, Nancy was not scheduled to attend an in-person church service in Tucson that morning, as some reports have suggested.

Instead, every Sunday since the COVID pandemic, Nancy regularly gathered with a small group of friends to watch a New York–based church service via livestream. The group would meet at one of the friends’ homes and watch the service live from Savannah Guthrie’s church in New York.

On Feb. 1, Nancy did not arrive at her friend’s house as expected to watch the livestream. Concerned, the friend contacted Annie — Nancy’s daughter and Savannah Guthrie’s sister — to report that Nancy had not shown up and could not be reached.

The source emphasized that Nancy was expected to be at her friend’s home that morning, not at a Tucson church, and said the circumstances surrounding her absence have been inaccurately described in some coverage.

Something in my gut tells me this will be an unsolved crime. LE seem to be nowhere after well over a week.
I think they may eventually find the body. It’s been noted the AZ heat, dryness, sun can quickly destroy DNA ( if outside).
LE may have to use other methods to find perps, if body not found soon.

I do the same. We watch a lot of sports online "together" and text during the event.
NG and her daughter were connecting in a similar way.

Then how do you explain the pacemaker syncing until 228 AM?
I'm not the person you are directing this to.

But from my understanding the sync only happens once a day. In this case at 2am. Meaning it is not in constant updating mode. It only uploads the daily results once a day. And if the once a day update time was regularly 2am. It means by that time she was not near her watch. However it doesn't mean that was the time she seperated from her watch.

If she had say flown to Paris at 10pm and left her watch at home. It would also try to do it's daily update at 2am and put out a result that it couldn't sync at 2am.

LE has not been very specific with what they mean with the fact that the watch couldn't detect the pace maker. So it could mean a number of different things.

I love this site because everyone has such creative thinking.

I believe that they used TMZ because they were confident they would release the information. Reliable news, sources may not have.
Ahh! Yes that is also good thinking

What is the point of attending the same service without communication? Wouldn't you Facetime beforehand a, "Good morning! It's so nice to see you! I'm happy you're joining me for service!" Or a quick check-in afterwards?
She had a friend’s group that met and watched together. Moo.. they may have had a covered dish bunch.

It’s Savannah’s church in NYC. She apparently attended, while in NYC and they knew her well.

Hoda (Today Show) interviewed Paster David and they sat on Savannah's row. It was aired this am. NG knew a lot of folks including far and wide.

I just feel like they are struggling the same way we are.

there is a lack of evidence in a way. it's very clean. except for the blood. as far as we know, this is the only evidence that she was somehow "taken"from the house.

so
the blood was mixed with other DNA from Nancy, so DNA from her mouth was mixed with some of the blood. To me it seems unlikely the blood was planted, it's still possible but super unlikely.

they think the "kidnapper/kidnappers " stayed in the home for 45 mins.

we are told Nancy entered home that night through the garage, so if she was taken out the front door I will speculate that was to avoid the light thrown from the garage.

they managed to remove her without leaving a further trail of blood or signs of struggle.

the cameras are easy to remove, the back door? the lights...everything low to the ground on a single story house.

I feel like someone brought Nancy to the house after she was injured. I feel like they moved her there so they could figure out what to do. I feel like the initially thought they would make it look like a burglary..but then they decided it was too risky and faked a kidnapping.

I know...

She seems to have stopped caring what LE do and is taking matters into her own hands. Even a "my sister and her husplband are victims too" statement?

I didn't get that impression. In fact, she stated that if anyone saw or knows anything to contact LE. I'm glad she's finally using her platform this way, which I'm sure is because she was cleared to do so. Either by law enforcement themselves, her own handlers, or both.

I agree and that opens a whole other can of worms for people to read into

I feel so bad for Nancy, she had cameras installed but not the software that records data, she probably thought she was safe at home :(
From what I understood from the many articles and specifically with neighbors interviewed, everyone thought it was a super safe neighborhood, and her cameras were more for "wildlife observation" than primary security. As someone who takes security seriously I find such a residential DIY set up very inadequate and not having the cloud subscription useless for even her stated purpose.

A recent interview with a former FBI agent who visited the scene pointed out how struck he was about how dark the neighborhood is due to Tucson's low light ordinances. He said it was a security nightmare, but people live in the illusion of a "good neighborhood" (which is what my friends still on the job call a neighborhood "where the bad guys shop")

Not an original idea, but one I'm starting to favor: Hired or freelance kidnapper/murderer went to the wrong house. Discovered their error either before or after they took the person who was there (if before, maybe didn't know what to do with an old woman who could ID them). In any case, took Nancy. And maybe even decided to continue/invent a ransom scenario when it became apparent deep pockets were involved. The last part would depend on how closely the original "ransom notes" described the crime scene.

To the best of my knowledge, it would have continued to sync even if something had happened to NG, and until someone turned off the blue tooth or deleted the app, or turned it off using her phone.
