AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

I've been reviewing some of the crime scene footage and taking screenshots.

Not seeing any signs of forced entry on the doors or side gate, although it's true the Sheriff never confirmed there was forced entry.

Thanks for this! It kinda looks like a big drag mark on the driveway. I now wonder if the garage door opening for 2 minutes was to remove Nancy from the scene.

Forgive me if this is pinned somewhere, but is there a diagram of the house & grounds available? Any past real estate listing, etc, with more photos and info?
No, because she's owned the house for decades, and never listed it. There's a bit of information on the assessor's page.

So, the NY church service was Good Shepherd that NG and her friends tune in to.
Hoda Kobt interviews the pastor here:

It is interesting that NG watches a live stream from her daughter's NYC church instead of one in Tucson area. It seems like SG is very much the golden child. I was also watching some clips on SG's social media and she made Jenna Bush the godmother of her first child, which I thought was notable that it wasn't her sister. It may be that her sister does not share the same religious beliefs. On the other hand, SG called her sister her "spiritual life partner" in a clip of the her 2018 book that someone posted here.

I'm sure the family dynamics are interesting. Just like in all families I'm sure in addition to love, there are tensions and resentments and jealousies. It seems like AG probably did most of the heavy lifting with NG and, if it is anything like my experience as a caretaker (also to an mid 80s family member who is basically "independent"), the faraway siblings have no idea how much work it can be-- and I don't mean physically. It would be hard to see them traveling the world, having summer houses and NYC townhouses, and seemingly having no money worries while I stayed in my hometown.

thank you for the valuable and most importantly factual info on this "church mystery". Now it makes sense and think about it. Without that call the crime would. maybe not have been found until much later in day. That NBC report is so sad. I just don't know how the family is coping.

And looking at Good Shepherd’s site (link), it says the “Digital Church” service begins at 11:00 AM (EST).

11:00 AM (EST) would be 9:00 AM (MT).

I believe the Sheriff has said AG or “family” got the call at around 11:00, so (no criticism, just noting for timeline purposes) the friend alerted family a couple of hours after the beginning of the service.

Catching up from last night! Does anyone have the source of where it was said they're taking DNA of workers? I just am not seeing that online.

Re: the dark skies policies in parts of Arizona, I've only been once, to Flagstaff, but man it did freak me out. Walking around a semi busy place at night with hardly any lights, kind of creepy. And going by homes in neighborhoods that were all dark outside. I could see how more crime could be common. That said, the stars were amazing and I'm sure that's wonderful once you're used to it!

I'm still hung up on the ransom being likely fake. Let's say the perp isn't a family member or someone close to NG, but a random worker or along those lines. Wouldn't such person(s) see that SG may be willing to pay millions and in some way try to cash in on that? Or is the crime too horrible to want any chance of being found out? Or is there a lack of sophistication with the perp with regard to a money transfer that can't be traced, like bitcoin? Or was it not motivated by money in any way? This part doesn't make sense to me.

Do we actually know that the first ransom note was sent on Monday? I think the only reason we know who got notes is because those organizations released the information to the public themselves. It appears there are 3 local Tucson news stations and we’ve only heard about 2 of them (along with TMZ) receiving communication. It’s entirely possible that communication was sent on Sunday to a different news organization (NBC national, the other local Tucson news stations, local newspaper, etc.) if so, they just didn’t broadcast it to the public.

Us civilians have almost no concrete facts. I think LE stating they have nothing is a ruse.

Snipped for focus.
Makes me think the perp had very intimate knowledge of the house and maybe had a key ?
That should narrow it down a bit.

Unless they are private roads, we have the right to peacefully assemble.
As long as roads aren’t being blocked, driveways aren’t being blocked, bright lights and noise aren’t being utilized

I can follow your logic but there could be other reasons for choosing TMZ in addition to the local stations. TMZ suggested that they were chosen because the sender wanted to know it had been received and the local stations who received it before they did weren’t disclosing it. See the link to the news nation article below.

But also I am not sure that the 2 local stations and TMZ were the only places that it was sent just because they are the only ones that acknowledged they received it. My first thought when it came out was why not send it to NBC or a local NBC affiliate? But maybe they did and maybe NBC chose not to disclose that. How would we know?

And regarding whether sending it to TMZ was from someone under 30…. Well I am considerably over 30 (more than twice that) and well aware that TMZ often talks about things sooner and/or discloses info that news agencies might not.

i think that's a fair point that TMZ could've been chosen because sender knew they would talk about it. NBC definitely could've kept it under wraps while LE was vetting it. i just kind of feel like if it was an older person and NBC didn't give it any attention, they would send another saying hey don't ignore this letter rather than deciding to go to TMZ. But, i could be totally wrong.

And you've got to have respect for LE when they are getting criticized constantly for lack of progress.. but we have no earthly idea how much information they already have but they are exercising great caution in divulging anything that would alert the perpetrator(s) to change their behavior because LE is onto them.

With this large team they have to have something... or they can maybe at least totally rule out certain people.. But they won't go public with that for obvious reasons.

I "feel" like we are going to get an arrest or POI this week.
Agreed and I hope you're correct !!
Fingers crossed for a break soon !

She absolutely had help. Her son in law lived minutes away and could have helped out with the pool (I do this for my mom's house). I would imagine he would stop by and help with subcontractors and workers hired (I wouldn't leave my 84 year old sick mom to handle that alone but who knows?)

She certainly had work done on the house and people coming and going. The neighbor who called in the "camera on the roof tip" stated in an interview that NG's roofs looked so clean in the drone footage because she had them recently re-sealed (which is large job, usually 2 or more people). Even with the low maintenance desert landscaping a property like that has a lot of upkeep.
SIL is a full time teacher and has a child with AG. I am sure that NG had pool service probably weekly to balance the chemicals and clean. I also don't think "84 year old sick mom" is accurate description of NG who seemed to be an active senior with friends and not sitting around being sick. Her meds indicate some chronic conditions and walks with cane. In her plea to captors SG stressed her fragile health to make it more urgent to return her now.

Are you referring to the mark between the person standing just outside the garage and the person to the right of the garage? If so, that looks like gravel worn down from the tires of the car. Theres a similar but less noticeable mark to the left of that which appears to line up with where the car is parked in the garage.

I wonder if the digital service is available on YouTube for later, non-live viewing.

Great! Thank you much for posting this. I am posting a general fact sheet/ working sheet and would like to include your post, if that’s okay?

Cheers,

I think the person or persons that did that has infiltrated into their lives somehow someway. It’s possible whoever has Nancy has been inside AGs house as well and that’s why LE was there for 3 hours on Saturday taking pictures. Has it been confirmed that there was no warrant and the search was consensual? If LE did not get a warrant I find it hard to believe that they would consider anyone in that house a suspect -MOO

Ransom is now a moot point. It wasnt paid, as directed, to the Preferred BITCOIN account. FBI, LE, and Websleiths do not have a crystal ball as to whether it was legit or not. Family makes the decision. They didn't pay it. They rolled the dice either way. Frankly, I am surprised. What happened to "we will pay" ? MOO

I haven't seen anywhere official that the ransom wasn't paid. I think a lot of us are wondering when we will know that for sure - that either it was paid or wasn't.
