AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

I just can't get over the fact that the day before Nancy was taken, 2 hours away in Scottsdale, two teens with supplies, disguises, and tools committed a home invasion demanding 66 million in crypto. And were instructed and paid to do so by anonymous masterminds(allegedly). Then the next day some guy/girl shows up at a home in another Arizona city, also with supplies and a disuise, also at night, kidnaps Nancy, and ransom notes demand 6 million in crypto.

Coincidences and oddities happen sometimes, but I can't get over that.
Would you please provide a link to substantiate this?

Maybe I’m off, but has anyone considered this person broke into the wrong house ? They get in , find an older woman, harm her or something, get out of there with her. The next day they find out whose home it was, either get on the kidnapping scenario, or the kidnapping is not related. I do not want to think an 84 year old would be kidnapped for ransom.

I know nothing about guns but can’t help but think that’s an awkward way to carry one.

And he walked to purposely miss the blood droplets area imo. Maybe blood droplets not yet at area. Why would he need a gun to abduct an 84 year old frail woman who had health issues and mobility problems? Seems like NG was not at house when the gun guy showed up. Seems staged
There’s no blood droplets in the video. It appears as though those came sometime after this.

NBC speculating the perp may have slept outdoors, camped, and that is why the backpack is full.

Not my opinion.
It would be somewhat cool though? Someone will recognize his clothing, backpack and shoes. Whatever is in the backpack doesn’t look too heavy, but bulky.

No verification he had a flashlight. Nest doorbells have a built in light. My feeling is that the full moon and the light from the doorbell illuminated him AND the hanging flowers we see in the photo. JMO
You can see a light in his mouth on both of the videos.

And the this video you can see light illuminate on the ground when he bends over to look at the ground closer.

Sure

Very much could be true but imo if he had a fake face on- i think he wouldn't care about concealing himself on camera. He'd know the disguise wouldn't be quickly recognizable and would instantly just rip off or break the camera. He wouldn't go through the trouble of finding a plant to cover the camera.

I think he may have had to unscrew the camera from the mount and was holding that stuff over the lens while doing so, so that no extra footage of him up close would be captured.

I commented on this photo as well and it does not seem to be there anymore? You look back and see if that photo you were looking at is missing?
It is still there. Here is a screenshot

This is also a very clear image of the mouth makes it more certain to me that this was somebody that either actually has facial hair or had some sort of fake facial hair as a disguise.

Can you imagine being awakened by that at night? Scares the heck out of me.
Looks like a halloween costume. Like why go to trouble of removing front door doorbell camera looking like that. Car was probably near garage if on property, so take NG out the side door. Just seems like NG was already removed from house and this was a coverup.

or a woman? The eyes look like those of a female. But I am NO expert!
A person in transition???? Female eyes and a mustache? Thinking waaayyyyy outside the box!

If you live in an open carry, no permit state, you see lots of scary gun positions.

Middle Eastern male, 30's, 5'9-6', 200-230 lbs., dark hair, mustache, goatee, appendix carried sidearm
Middle Eastern??? in my opinion that’s a huge stretch

Like a body bag?

Good eye! I know a bit about guns and it is a very strange way to carry a firearm. So weird and awkward.

Apologies if this has already been said but should we assume Nancy had already been disabled inside the house when this video was taken?

Don't those ring cameras alert you to movement on the doorstep?

I thought that was the whole point of them :(
They were Nest cams, but yes they send a push alert. Ring ones don't always do it in real time btw, sometimes there is a lag of several seconds depending on your config/wifi. In Ring you get a "person detected" push text but you need to see it on your phone and react to it . She could not play it back without the sub just a live push notification.

Could the gun and holster have been borrowed or given to perp for this crime? These images are frightening.
