I’m stumped trying to think of any cases similar to this one. Going through possible options for motives.

Motive doesn’t appear to be a robbery. If that was the case, the perpetrators would usually break in when they assume the place is empty or they’d tie up occupants, potentially physically assault them to get them comply, take valuables and leave. Or in worst case, murder and leave the bodies behind. Based on those things, and the full backpack/nothing being reported missing, robbery is 99% ruled out for me as a theory.

If it was a motive of SA, again I’d expect her to be left behind either deceased or injured and/or bound. Taking her from the scene to assault elsewhere is a risky move and would be unnecessary as she lived alone, it was the night time, nobody is likely to drop by and interrupt an attack.

If it was a motive to murder, why remove her from the scene and create more work for yourself?

If the motive was a ransom, I’d have expected there to be instructions not to involve police, specific times and dates, and some proof of life that they had her. Ransoms in general seem far fetched in this day and age. Can’t be ruled out but usually the perpetrator would get increasingly agitated with demands not being met and would become more threatening or send proof of the hostage being injured as a result of demands not being met.

That for me leaves a more personal motive. Someone who knew her or someone close to her directly or indirectly and wanted to either hurt them, or get their attention in some twisted way. She was absolutely an intended target, but why?

also, if there are no legit ransom demands, i'm unfortunately having trouble imagining a scenario where NG is likely to still be alive.

though that doesn't mean there isn't one. and, as you suggest, it's hard to tell what kind of scenario we have here. this is a weird one.

NG’s phone and watch were at her house and her devices lost connection with her pacemaker at 2:28am. So she has to have been home until that time.

NG and her phone and watch were together until 2:28 am. Could have been somewhere else, but yeah, it makes the most sense that she was at her home.
Edit: I assume LE knows the location of her phone and watch based on phone data.

I asked earlier this morning how they identified the person who was detained because I thought he said he didn’t know why they suspected him. I was told that it was because of cell phone tower data but I just found the video with him again and he DEFINITELY said he does not know how. That may have been my post but it was deleted because of no source. The person who was detained does say “they have my phone” what ever that means. Did they keep his phone or could that mean phone location from tower data, who knows. JMHO

The flowers are f'in weird. I've seen teen porch pirates who navigate a ring cam with more ease than this flower move. Why do a little "oh " dance and look for something to cover it when you could JUST COVER IT WITH YOUR HAD.

IMO he was using the plants as a grip to get the nest Camera off. He was wearing stupidly bulky gloves so looks to me that he couldn't get a grip the first time. Aren't they sticky too?

Absolutely. I'd imagine he'd have to pop that mouth light out sometime, unless he was planning on grunting his way through an abduction. (Not impossible, though; firearms speak volumes.)

100% i do not believe this was random at all, whether burglary or kidnapping. It was preplanned and they knew who they were after. If a robbery, why take her from her home? She doesn’t know who they are with the masks etc. Kidnapping, the $, it’s more often than not. I still believe the SIL is involved, how exactly, I’m not sure. Could be in hiring someone to help with the kidnapping, set up ransom, etc., was he there that night? Yes, I believe so, not sure what his part was exactly (maybe he gave Latana flower guy details about the home/cameras etc), as an example, but not sure what his part is exactly. The date and time were known ahead of time to commit this and others were involved to help with it. I don’t have anything to prove this theory. MOO

If this glove is in fact from the abduction would you really be able to extract actionable DNA from a black glove that has been sitting under the desert sun for over 10 days?

Reportedly, MIL said he did "fedex or something" for work. Likely pinged as being in the area delivering when LEO reviewed cell data. A tip and a hit on cell/other data = a visit.

Agreed. That's a welded steel residential "security door". It has it's own bolt set (I own a very similar one on one of my houses). With it's own keyed deadbolt it can be a hassle (extra set of keys) so like a lot of families the garage (easy fob or keypad entry) might have been the primary way to come and go. You are quite right that she may have kept it unbolted if she found it inconvenient, just like some people who have an alarm in a "good area" don't always arm it.

Those security doors are secured with their own metal frame over the framing of the door, usually with propriety lag bolts (so you need a special tool not a common ratchet set) that go at least 3 inches into the wood framing around the regular door. You can winch or pry bar them open but it takes a lot of efforts/leverage but they won't be kicked open or breached by pulling. In the academy they teach door breaching for these kind of doors which are common on trap houses/high crime areas. Anyway the lockset and frame was intact so they did not breach the front security door --it was either unlocked or it was unlocked from the inside if anyone went through it. If she had a single cylinder deadbolt then it could have been opened from the inside (if they gained entry otherwise) I use double cylinder deadbolts (keyed on both sides) for many of my deadbolts --the worst thing you see in residential applications is a single cylinder deadbolt and a window right next to--2 seconds smashing window w/ a rock/branch and flipping the deadbolt open and you're in.

Agreed I really think LE is grasping at straws and has no clue where NG could be located. Hence why they need to find the abductor and be able to either retrace their steps or get a confession. JMO

I truly think it’s something the public should pay attention to. This is such a high profile missing persons I can see the NEED for closure. Forced confessions are real

Yes- i've said very early on that PCSD calling off search efforts after a day was a bad idea. Even if they thought a crime was committed from the get-go NG could've been abandoned somewhere quickly out in the desert.

I understand LE resources are limited and they probably started focusing on the ransom, but there are plenty of people who'd be willing to help conduct grid searches. If NG is somewhere out in the desert- 10 days later isnt a good outlook.

Completely agree! They clearly have no idea where she is... why not try the simplest grid searches ANYWHERE they reasonably suspect she could be. Main priority.

The only thing I can think of otherwise is that they DO have proof of life and that's been ongoing. But I am highly skeptical that's the case (despite SG's video Monday... now two days ago).

Maybe the desert preserves things like that, but they also have dirt and pollen in the desert. They also have gravity. As in: A glove will lose the shape of the hand it was in fairly quickly after it is removed.
