AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

If you could ask LE/FBI any question about this case and receive an answer,
What would you ask?
I'd like to know what the ransom note said or what the house looked like inside.

Interesting. I wonder if someone actually delivered something large to the house recently and even assembled it. Like furniture. They may have seen photos of Nancy with Savannah. Maybe recognized SG and asked NG about it who proudly told him she is her mom. That may have given the delivery guy ideas for a kidnapping for ransom. JMO.
Maybe he does not work or deliver alone.

Is it true that the man apprehended and released in Rio Rancho last night was only of interest because a tip stated that his eyes matched the suspect in the porch video? To me, that would indicate that law enforcement has absolutely nothing at all to go on in this case. It seems like a very desperate "Hail Mary" play to carry out such a large operation on such flimsy "evidence".

IMO he was using the plants as a grip to get the nest Camera off. He was wearing stupidly bulky gloves so looks to me that he couldn't get a grip the first time. Aren't they sticky too?
I always reach for flowers when I can't get a grip. Seriously though, black latex/nitrile gloves are pretty grippy - even if worn over another pair. Hard for me to understand it.

Hope they get him alive so we can find out.

Most likely already brought up. But I put the picture up of the door and watched the video several times. Looks like he definitely pushed the doorbell three times while covering the camera with his glove. Why ring the bell if it was planned.
Sorry I haven't seen this reported or said before. Can you break it down a bit more to explain/post screenshots if possible? That seems relevant if true.

I was on X & typed in AGC's name & someone posted a pic of DE & WOW
Who is DE? Wracking my brain on this one.

I'm a 60+ woman living alone in an ultra-safe, bland community. But even if someone said they were LE I would never open the door.

I'd speak to them out the window and call 911 and ask for verification that authentic LE - be it local cops, state, fed, whatever - were on my doorstep. The police station is a mile away and anyone pounding on my door can wait until a squad car arrives to back me up.

I would not open at 2am to a recognized voice unless I could see them, see their vehicle and see that they were unaccompanied. Otherwise, calling 911. Even threat of a gas leak, I'd probably just open a couple of windows till the responders arrived.

And I am lax, hardly paranoid, about security. But there are too many good ruses out there.

As an aside, beware of kittens meowing. Pretending to be an abandoned, scared kitten is one of the eerier ruses used to lure people out of their homes.
Interesting about the kittens, what a ruse! Kind heart opens door to look for kittens…

Reminds me of the puppy ruse, with child abduction, human trafficking, grooming…

People let down their guard….

Keep seeing the misinformation that the family waited one hour to call 911.

This is not true.

They called 911 almost as soon as they arrived

[The source of this misinformation was the sheriff in the first press conference but it has now been debunked]

Source: ABC7 news official police timeline (Feb 6)

New York Times (10 Feb) A Timeline of Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance

"When Ms. Guthrie did not arrive at a friend’s house to watch a live-streamed church service on Sunday, the friend notified Ms Guthrie’s family. Family members went to her house just before noon to check on her, discovered she was missing and called 911."
Thank you. I can't believe people are still talking/questioning it that
they waited an hour to call

. I wish there was a way to force people to read confirmed timelines and then continue on in the forums.

Bring up a picture of the front door. The door bell is to the right. Watch the video at the same time and he is pushing in to something right where the doorbell is located. The camera is a little above and he is covering that with his glove.

That is what was reported/he said...bottom line is regardless if that is it or something else..it appears like this is very disorganized.

What does his MIL need to apologize for? She defended him persistently over and over on national TV to anyone who would listen that he had nothing to do with this and he was at home when Nancy was reported missing.
Oh, I thought it was stated she was the one to contact LE to say that his eyes resembled the security footage ?
Still it appears that LE were just following up on the tip.
It'd seem that they had more to go on than that he may have resembled the person on the sec. cam.
Jmo.

The flowers are f'in weird. I've seen teen porch pirates who navigate a ring cam with more ease than this flower move. Why do a little "oh 🤬🤬🤬🤬" dance and look for something to cover it when you could JUST COVER IT WITH YOUR HAD.

Seriously - you can see a ring from the curb in my experience, roll around that corner and immediately cover it, WHY DILLYDALLY IN FRONT OF IT?!
Agree. Was odd to me, if nothing else

Just got off the phone with the FBI...here is a Nancy Guthrie status update as of Weds afternoon:

-Despite Bitcoin deadlines passing days ago in original ransom note, it has not been ruled in or out as legitimate and still part of overall investigation

-They are still operating off Kash Patel's latest statement that there are "persons of interest" aka more than one

-They are following up on "tons of leads"

-will not comment on Carlos Palazuelos detainment/release

I've all along thought the BIL but he would have a key I am sure. Such a puzzling case.
I actually don’t think he was pushing the bell. I think he was trying to gauge how securely the doorbell was attached to the house.

When he realized it could not be quickly lifted away he went and got the plant to cover the lens.

Seriously some of you are absolutely unhinged, can't do your own research or just completely stupid.

Iranian sleeper cells?
Cartels?

Should have to pass a test to post here.

Jesus wept.

Seems very cold here lately.

Yes this could be the case with service providers, repairmen, delivery people who assemble furniture, etc. They come into the house, see the pictures of NG with her daughter. They get ideas about making some big money.

Moo...just cause, my mom is 88 bad knees...she should use a walker but no, she drives fine, but no nite drive.
What was the point of taking the woman? Any legal problems with any of the family? Journalists do have big egos, it is a necessary for the work they do . But egos are fragile.. if it is not about money...what is it about?
Good points.
Still wondering if someone was upset with Nancy and all they wanted was for her to be gone permanently.
Just seems so difficult to fathom, IF that was all.
Omo.
