That may have been my post but it was deleted because of no source. The person who was detained does say “they have my phone” what ever that means. Did they keep his phone or could that mean phone location from tower data, who knows. JMHO
Thank you for the clarification!

eta: of course NOW I find the video you were referencing and realized it was a totally different video than the one I saw :) i don’t know why it’s so hard to find the interviews!

The newly found black glove looks as if it has been positioned pointing in a specific direction.. creepy

BE had an open box of these. Hopefully a reporter didn’t drop one from their reporting in the area. I’m sure more than BE showed them for their report. He said they’re easy to find and buy in the area.
They're everywhere.

An apparent ransom note for Nancy Guthrie demanded payment in bitcoin. While authorities have not confirmed if the ransom demand is legitimate, they have previously said they are taking the note seriously. Ben Weiss, a crypto reporter for Fortune, joined CBS News for analysis

Cybersecurity expert Alex Stamos says data from Nest cameras — like the one that captured video of a person outside Nancy Guthrie's door — is streaming constantly to Google and may not be deleted for some time, even for non-subscribers.

"Internal storage uses a very lazy deletion mechanism, so the data wouldn't be available to users who didn't pay," Stamos said. "The video for non-subscribers would be marked for deletion, but depending on the exact implementation details the actual files might not be deleted for days and the actual data wouldn't be overwritten until the storage was needed."

Most likely already brought up. But I put the picture up of the door and watched the video several times. Looks like he definitely pushed the doorbell three times while covering the camera with his glove. Why ring the bell if it was planned. I've all along thought the BIL but he would have a key I am sure. Such a puzzling case.
Maybe ringing the doorbell was supposed to get her to open the door, so no forced entry? I’m just throwing thoughts out there, because I have no idea — it is a puzzling case!

Im surprised how many people are speculating it is BIL in these images. It’s safe to say that his own family would recognize him if that were the case.
maybe? In my opinion, you could probably put my dad in one of these and I don’t think I could recognize him. Or my mom

So maybe, but then maybe not. In my opinion.

I was responding to the person who said she opened the door a crack and they pushed their way in. That's what the doors are there for... to stop that as well as forced entry.

When commenting on a post... I also read the comment to which they are responding... for

Those are extremely common screen doors. I'm a neigbhorhood volunteer and see them all of the time. The door doesn't prevent a homeowner from opening it. There does not appear any forced entry. Yes, she could talk through the screen door, but he either accessed through the front door that was cracked open or entered the home another way.
My mother's house has a door similar to that. It has the bars and glass, so you cannot reach through. I doubt she opened this door. So, either he came to disable the camera before using the door, or someone else let him in, not NG. I don't know where I saw it mentioned that NG came in through the garage, but what if someone who had been in the house knew that she always uses the garage door and that person unlocked the front door? She likely would have expected it to be locked and didn't check it before going to bed. My mother never used the front door, but occasionally, one of the kids would open it and it would have remained unlocked. She never thought about checking it, but then she left the back door unlocked while she was gone. It used to drive me a little crazy.

So, this just kind of thinking out loud, theorizing, and asking questions — no verified info at all, truly my opinion only. So you can freely skip this entire post if that's not of interest to you and you will miss nothing of value.

Also, I assume authorities are already doing this stuff, so I'm not trying to suggest that I'm coming up with novel ideas here; just thinking out loud and trying to learn......

On the cell phone topic, I know some things about how the cell network works, but I'm far from an expert in it. And a lot of my knowledge is probably out of date.

I'm curious if anyone here knows roughly how many active cellular devices might be in range of a tower in a neighborhood like NG's? I'm thinking probably somewhere between high hundreds and mid thousands? Quite a few, but not 100K or anything. Of course if you pulled in more towers, you'd end up with some more, but you also might be able to narrow it down by only considering devices that were talking to multiple towers such that they are more likely to be in the area of interest.

So, how big of a list do you think you'd have if you wanted to look at every single cellular device seen in the area in, say, a four hour period? You could probably quickly eliminate a bunch as known residents of the area (not saying clear those people of suspicion, but the presence of their devices here isn't notable). With cooperation from the carriers, and a team of workers, I'd think you could get through the list relatively quickly, and at least categorize into three or four buckets of relevance (ranging from "this is clearly not interesting" to "we must look into this one immediately").

Of course, it's entirely possible that, like Bryan Kohberger, the person or persons turned their devices off before entering the area. Or (less likely IMO, but possible) that they simply did not carry any devices with them. But at some point they would have to turn the device back on/reunite with it. So I guess at that point you'd have to expand the radius, which would exponentially increase the number of devices to consider. Maybe not practical. Also, very possible they used burner phones, but even that would be worthwhile to identify.

Anyway just wondering if anyone here is more deeply familiar with the cellular network and how you might approach this. (Not really interested in AI summaries and the like; I can generate those myself..)
I've found opencellid.com to be quite useful for checking out the positioning and range of nearby towers.

As far as your other questions, I have no idea, sorry. But I like your line of thinking.

Neoprene gloves are pretty grippy on their own. The juices from a soft plant would only make it more slippery.
Another way to link the discarded glove to the lantana.

Does that make it any better that they were tracking him and it looks like it wasn't him at all?
How do you want law enforcement to solve crimes if they’re not allowed to investigate? Wasn’t the line being said earlier today, “Shouldn’t they investigate first???” Now that it turns out that they did, there’s outrage for having investigated him beforehand and it wasn’t actually all based on random eye comparisons? lol

His glove on the right hand was enormous, looked like a boxing glove. What else was he going to use to gain a better grip?
My opinion only, but I believe that when something gets super close to the camera like that, you get somewhat of a fish-eye lens type distortion, making it look much bigger than it is.

MOO

And which phones were moving from cell tower to cell tower shortly after 2am? You’d think thats possible, right?

Hopefully all the name-calling and rudeness I've seen on here in the last 24 hours isn't a regular occurrence here. Just today I have been labelled ageist and homophobic for proposing theories despite being an elder gay myself!
It's been very unpleasant. I'm sorry, and am hoping it will die down soon. 😔

In that case, you would do best to report such comments

Only the link to the original post, which I included in my OP. I included it again, above. As I stated in my post, I said that it had been posted on WS.

I know NG attended a gathering with friends to watch a church service remotely, which is in the article.

The article you linked says nothing about NG being picked up by someone to go to the gathering, which you stated in your original post, and is what I was questioning.

The article actually says, The source said that Guthrie and her friends regularly gathered to watch church services online together. When Guthrie did not arrive at her friend’s house for church on the morning of Feb. 1, that friend called her daughter, Annie Guthrie, the source said.

Which sounds like NG got herself to the gathering on Sunday mornings, and when she didn’t arrive, the friend called AG.

Is it just me or did masked guy at the door walk and move so calmly almost reluctantly. Or so calmly, more indifferent like a hit man. Like im clocking in, dont really feel like doing this vs today. Almost like a sort of non character lazy-ish hit man.
He seemed anything but professional and indeed even a bit bumbling. He was staring down and walking slowly so as not to trip coming up to the porch and when confronted with the camera he incompetently just held his fist partially in front of it. He could have just placed his thumb over the lens while he examined how to remove it. Then backtracks to look for something, finally a plant, to cover the lens.

Someone said that the holster was not the correct size for the gun either, so it’s not clear he knew what he was doing with that either.

To me, he looked like he came straight from the bar, just before closing time. It had been a long night of drinking.

In my opinion, it does not seem like this is something that they have done before. Or even practice to do before.

It's possible.

It's also possible they are searching the brush in the area because Tomasso lost a guitar pick and wants to jam to pass the time so he asked them to find it.

And that they're canvassing AG's neighborhood door to door asking for donations to the Pima County Annual Police Ball.

I mean there's a lot of possibilities I haven't seen them get mail btw. just taking pictures late at night inside the house with a crime scene van, and leaving the house glove with an evidence kit suitcase and evidence specific bags, not a duffle or tote for personal items. Also the Guthries could have helpers/assistants run out for grocery/supply runs. They are renting a nearly $2M mansion for their stay. You think they're sending agents to their house that has been abandoned for days for snacks?

please forgive me if that came off snarky but I like to use hyperbole to drive home points.
I do believe the reports earlier today specifically mentioned them checking the mail fwiw.

We really don't have any definitive proof that NG made it safely home. We're just going by what we've been told. Who knows anymore? I sure don't.
I can only assume that phone data from NG and TC confirm this.... maybe LE is intentionally leaving out details, but they seem to act like they think she was dropped off.
