AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

Brian Entin interviewed a retired Sheriff’s Dept officer. He felt the case has been botched from the beginning and blamed the Sheriff’s huge ego. He said the Sheriff would not relinquish much of the investigation to the FBI; the Sheriff’s investigators have only been hired in the last few years and limited expertise; stated it was laughable that the Sheriff rushed out to Rio Rico to be out front if they made an arrest of the Door Dash guy - said Sheriff should remain in the office to coordinate the investigation, etc. Obviously the retired officer had nothing good to say about Sheriff Nanos.
This is was a good interview. Re: his statements about Nanos' character, I couldn't help but wonder how much, if any, was inspired by interpersonal hostility. I got the sense (opinion!) that the retired officer never liked the guy. So it made me question any demarcation between "emotional" and "likely".

My geez, I hope this ramble makes any sense. Smh @ myself.

This video, and another showing a guy trying car doors, are visually very compelling.
But why would a probably homeless guy suddenly decide to break into a house, and after encountering a mobility challenged 84 year old woman, decide to take her. And how in the world would he take her? I doubt he had a car with him.
I'm thinking it wasn't a homeless person. The guy on Nancy's porch looked well nourished and the clothes, mask and bag didn't look like they had any wear and tear. I think the videos are unrelated.

They blurred the face but if you watch the original video without the blur it definitely looks like he is also wearing a mask. Very strange if unrelated.
Interesting they would blur someone wearing a mask, especially if that would be helpful for comparison.

Lol these reporters zooming in for clues on a luggage tag

The zoom in provided useful information on a potential reason they were there. It appears they are carrying a cell phone and the phone showed agent had height app on phone. Photo of phone from Fox Digital. Not confirmed, but possible the mounting bracket for the ring camera was taken.

Its still very good info to have!!
Yep. He could have purchased online as well. But definitely not an item I could find on Amazon. I searched to see and nothing came up which would indicate it is Walmart specific.

Absolutely! And they will run down this lead.
Even if he boughtcstuff online. Lets say you have suspect search warrant. Hey buddy, we are going to need to see you online history, bank statements, and maybe your Walmart purchase history "ordered recently" was saved. In that case, strength to the case.

I’ve been thinking about porch lights too. In images fbi released we see lights behind masked man. Initially I saw folks comment maybe car lights. That’s frequently corrected to be porch lights from house across from Nancy. So, they could use porch lights?
Yes, NG's neighborhood is set up similar to mine but for wildlife; specifically for migrating birds between US and Canada. Too much light knocks them off their known migratory flight patterns. No more spotlights over garage and properties; or driveways, gardens lit up with small lights. In my neighborhood use of motion detector lights is preferred, and our security systems do have that. Big difference overall, takes time to become accustomed to it but once you do – you don’t want all the lights unless something sets off the motion detector.

You can literally see his bald head there is no mask. Both the video by TMZ and the ring footage showing another guy checking for unlocked cars are unmasked and not wearing gloves. Just opportunistic burglar imo. The guy on NG front porch was masked and probably double gloved meaning what crime he was about to commit was a lot more sinister and had some degree of preplanning

New here.

But honestly , at this point this has been seemingly so botched and delayed in collecting evidence/ sealing off in key locations I’m expecting them to find her right under their noses.

We can gather now that the blood on the porch of Nancy's was fresh because it doesn't appear to be on the camera that LE recently released. Meaning we can rule out it didn't happen at an earlier time.

It is more likely that Nancy was at her home before she started bleeding not elsewhere. IMO.

I feel like anything they have on that porch cannot be used at this point for how open they’ve left it so hopefully it leads them to something useable
I think that would depend on what and where they found evidence and who the evidence matched with. Could be saliva or skin cells found on the inside of the screen/security door. They should collect everything they find and if they think they can use it later on, let the DA decide the inclusory value to a prosecution.

It's not definitive but it really looks like a mask like the classic old man bald head mask. They seem to pull on it a few times in the video.

I don't know, but it's interesting they hired their own given that most of law enforcement in country is already working on this. i don't understand any of this.
If you have the means, most would do everything that they could to find a loved one. MOO

Then why does it say Tucson Walmart? I can't see the article
"The Daily Mail found this 25 liter Ozark backpack in a Walmart just miles from Nancy Guthrie's home"

That's what it said under a photo in that DM article.

I have a love hate feeling with the media yall...sometimes I feel like the urgency of finding Nancy gets lost in the sensationalizing of the story. But at the same time the media coverage is how we know what is going on with this case.
Just my opinion and no links because it's just my observations and thoughts overall

Even if cash, there may be an image of a face! MOO

Edited to remove a comment.
If he bought the things a month ago with cash, would Walmart still have the footage?

This may have been shared already, tent going up outside her front door/porch area.
View attachment 644214
But why the white tent though? I’ve usually only seen this in cases where they are trying to hide remains or protect from the elements (which doesn’t seem to be an issue today).

Maybe a recreation of the video to attempt to get height or other things they may have missed?

Someone here mentioned that going to a bar could be an alibi. Someone misread this and the bar keeps coming up. A rumor that keeps getting repeated. Imo
THERE IS NO BAR!!!

I didn’t say they shouldn’t collect it, simply that the argument is there for basically everything to be contaminated
