Yea that note is so weird. His reasoning for needing the bitcoin make no sense as he could get the $50K reward if he went to LE. Apparently he gave his name and his email address in the first note he sent.

So they can easily find and charge him with extortion.? Totally insane. Yes, his reasons make no sense.

Day twelve, with no description issued to the public of a suspect vehicle. It’s dark in NG’s area but does someone familiar with the area know if there are better lit roads nearby, with cameras? If so, how far away are they?

Source: Google maps and 40+ year Tucson resident.

The main roads around the area are Campbell, River, Skyline, First Avenue, and Orange Grove. Street lighting is very dim everywhere in Pima County. There are laws to protect optical astronomy.

Campbell would have been the closest road to exit the neighborhood from but depending on which way you were heading, you could exit on Camino Miraval to Skyline.

The thing is, all of these intersections have traffic cams. I have not been able to find a live or archive link for these cameras though. I'm sure the SO knows every car that went through those intersections in the early morning hours of 2/1

It’s because uncertainty is psychologically harder than bad news.
 So our minds cycle through potential possibilities. Is it a political angle, a stalker, random predator, planned murder, something else that maybe the media is hiding or isn't saying, etc.? This is a normal cognitive loop called threat completion bias. Our brains want and are wired for a clean narrative. There isn’t one atm and that’s hard for people to square with. There is so little the public knows. People are trying to make this situation make sense, and we, myself included, are unable to do that. So the loop continues.

He said that something had changed from yesterday to today and that it was chilling. I assume that's what the OP meant

That's what I think too. Until there’s verification she physically entered her house, I think it’s fair to question the timeline. There

Here's a thought ... what if LE KNOW and they also know the 'struggle' or evidence a crime happened at Nancy's house ... was staged ?
Who stands to gain from Nancy being gone ?

What if they know she was not returned back home because with a cane she may not have opened/closed her door that quickly ?
What if they know her car was used and brought back by someone who had no problem opening/closing the garage door in under a minute or two ?

Am hoping very much that LE are figuratively miles ahead of us, because it doesn't look that way right now, just an opinion.
They've been reticent in the past about letting the public know much, understandable, and I have to assume that the release of that doorbell/cam footage was intentional to make the perp(s) sweat.

If she never came home and they took her watch and phone to stage it and make it look like she did that would have broken the connection much earlier. I believe AG lives ~20 minutes away.

LE would be able to tell by cell records where her phone was and watch were, as long as they were on which we know her watch was due to knowing when the pacemaker signal was lost.

Am I missing something? There are so many posts questioning if she made it home, but I don't see how it's possible given the watch/pacemaker issue.

Honestly I get what you’re saying. I’m trying to kinda cut these guys some slack because but it’s been a bit difficult. I do suspect that they are all Exhausted and tired and frustrated and overwhelmed and grouchy, etc. They know eyes are on them and it’s gotta be doing a number on some of them that they don’t have NG back or anyone in custody. Egotistical finger pointing and infighting is probably happening as well.

I think they made a mistake by not establishing a task force early on. I think things would have went much smoother cooperation wise etc. We’ve seen that happen in many cases.

I can't say I have heard of this news site before (not saying it is not relevant or correct). But this is the first time I have seen mention of the smartwatch being at the foot of the bed.

TMZ had said LE took the second ransom note more seriously because they referenced where the watch was in NG's home and it wasn't in a normal place one would guess.

It was in one of HL's earlier videos after it was received.

Gloves found at Guthrie's house are being sent out for testing, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a statement this afternoon.

The department said "several items of evidence" were found at the residence, but provided no details beyond the gloves.

It's really beyond me that they only now have several items send for testing.
If the house was processed thoroughly from day 1 they would have all the test results back by now - IMO
I would be extremely upset if LE handled my mom's disappearing this way.

It was apparently an error due to neighbor involvement. Then again, they are now asking for footage from the entire month, so I dunno what to think.

I’m assuming they have enough proof to believe that she was in fact back at home late that evening. They probably found her clothes in a hamper from earlier. Also, the phone and pacemaker app probably helped give more definitive answers, because the app being out of range shortly after the motion on the nest cam. If this was set up and she never was actually returned home then we probably would be seeing an arrest of the SIL. JMO.

I thought I had read that it was on its charger.
Why on earth would it be at the foot of the bed?
Did the kidnapper make her remove it, or remove it themselves?
