The latest ransom note

Right. So the second ransom note was definitely from the kidnappers and not a hoax. But it doesn't appear that LE took the note seriously since no payment was made to the bitcoin account. Since they don't seem close to an obvious breakthrough in the case, are they thinking they are dealing with a kidnapper and not a killer and therefore they have the luxury of time? I think there is a risk that the kidnapper doesn't even need to "kill" NG. He can simply abandon her wherever she is hidden away with no food and water and that will end up killing her. That is a real risk if this kidnapper decides to walk away frustrated. MOO.
is it correct that kidnappers have not given proof of life, ever?

As for the gloves being tested for DNA, we don't know if any foreign DNA was present at NG's house, and they don't yet have a suspect that we know of. All three things have to be connected to be useful. LE put up and took down a tent at NG's front door. I would think that might be to photograph to make a more exact determination of the height of the masked man, and to home in on details. Is anyone else thinking someone broke in the back and let the masked man in? I am starting to think there may have been three - one driving, one who broke in and handled NG, and the masked man, who took down the camera.

I don't think the man in the TMZ video is the same as the man in Nancy's camera video because even though Nancy's camera video is in black and white, you can tell the backpack is a lighter color than the coat. And in TMZ's video, it's the opposite. The backpack is black and the coat is a lighter color.

no proof of life but they provided some "insider info" about NG's room (like the location of her Apple watch) that only someone who was in that room would know.

To your point, it is interesting that LE has not ruled out family members. I think there could be different reasons for this, including keeping the perps more comfortable.

But, I also think that family had access to NG's home, etc. and it doesn't mean they weren't involved in some other way shape or form. JMO.

Just not sure it's clear in either direction at this point, other than nothing LE has indicated would say that the family WAS involved
Agreed. I just think with how little we know and it being 12 days in, it’s interesting that no family has been publicly cleared. Sometimes that’s done early to calm speculation. Maybe there are good reasons they haven’t, but it just stands out to me.

Infrared reversal?

Gloves found at Guthrie's house are being sent out for testing, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a statement this afternoon.

The department said "several items of evidence" were found at the residence, but provided no details beyond the gloves.
This seems promising. I thought maybe it was a typo, but the link rephrases it and it's clear that the gloves were found AT the house, not just random ones that were found discarded off the side of the road.

“The note also referenced two specific details inside the Guthrie home: a white smartwatch at the foot of a bed and a white backyard floodlight that the sender claimed was destroyed.”

It seems that the only individuals who could possibly know this information would be 1.) the perp, 2.) those who first came to the house to check on NG, and 3.) LE investigators (incl forensics, photographer, etc) at the crime scene

I was referring to this article which states;

"Gloves found at Guthrie's house are being sent out for testing, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a statement this afternoon.
The department said "several items of evidence" were found at the residence, but provided no details beyond the gloves.
The news comes after multiple reports that a nylon glove was found at the home."

I think that was probably a mistake since I can't find anything from other sources on this. JMO

According to their report, the e-mail came from a person who claims to know the identity of Nancy's kidnapper. The e-mail was received by TMZ just after 9:00 a.m. Arizona time.

The person who sent the e-mail, per TMZ, claimed that they are "not being taken seriously," and made ominous statements.

"TMZ is cooperating with law enforcement by not disclosing specifics," read a portion of the article.

Per the report, the person explained why he wants a bitcoin, saying that they will "need money to lay low after identifying the kidnapper for fear of retaliation," and worries he might be "incriminated like that Carlos guy," referring to a person of interest who was detained and subsequently released.

The e-mail, per TMZ, ends with the person saying this is their final attempt to help.

According to the report, this e-mail came just one day after an e-mail asked for 1 bitcoin in return for the kidnapper's name

I think ime that for some people/families tend to do it more than others even those not necessarily wealthy. In my circle I have known some people who everyone in their family has an alarm setting in their home. It wasn't a thing for anyone in my family and I honestly wish my parents would as they get older and do have people come to do wok on the home :(
With more people ordering on-line, it may be a deterrent from folks taking delivered items off your porch. My next-door neighbors have timed lights when they are away from home. They’ve never mentioned it, but it is obvious to the neighbors who can see their house.
