How would a neighbor know if someone had temporarily disrupted their internet or WiFi service at approximately 2:00 a.m. in the morning?
If they have a Ring camera (I'm guessing other brands do this as well) it does an auto screenshot every 30 seconds up to every 14 minutes depending on what you set it at.

Going back to the video of the perp.
Who brings a full backpack to a robbery? NO ONE....
Have you ever bent over with a heavy backpack? It throws off your balance to a degree. The perp had no issues bending over for the lantana. My assumption is the backpack was filled with lighter "stuff". No bulges to suggest otherwise. He's already carrying a gun. No need for weapons in the pack. Clothing or sheets, perhaps?

That bite light is also interesting. I've only seen electricians working in the dark use these. Mechanics trying to use both hands. Plumbers in cramped spaces.

Btw, if you don't want to be caught on camera, why approach it with a semi closed fist? Wouldn't you splay your palm open?

Someone opined that he could have had other bags inside his backpack to put items in. His backpack is unzipped at the top of it.

To me he walks up to that front door like he is not expecting that camera to even be active. He raises his fist to the left side of it as if he might strike it and then realizes it is active. That is when he starts to block the camera with his hand and tries to remove it with his other hand.

Door bell camera disconnects at 1:47 a.m.
Software detects a person on camera at 2:12 a.m.

According to another poster (and the neighbour Brian Entin spoke to) the camera keeps a history of wifi disconnections and may even give you a notification that the camera disconnected

I just asked my husband what happens when we're on vacation. We have, on occasion, gotten alerts that the Ring system is no longer connected to WiFi; however, in those instances the system goes into an emergency backup (of sorts) to a cellular service. Not the cellular associated with our phones (we are not here for that to happen). It's a cellular backup between the cameras and the overall Ring system.

Of course, I have no idea what happens with Nest, but I'm guessing it might be similar.

Obviously I can't say this with certainty, but I'd imagine if NG didn't have a subcription for the camera, she likely didn't have a cellular backup either (if Nest has such an option)

The holster is a weird thing

Would it really be more difficult/expensive to acquire a holster that actually suited his weapon?
Not at all.

It would also make more sense to me not to have a holster then in that situation and just have the gun concealed on his person or tucked in beltline under jacket and remove when needed. It was an over-convoluted and unnecessary display IMO and I've been carrying almost daily for 30 years in some fashion or another.

Seems like what he had or made due with quickly and also makes me wonder if the gun was real or a replica for intimidation/coercion.

I'll entertain this thought. The perp was walking from where he was dropped off/left his car/etc down the road to NGs house. He walks with his jammer on in case he may pass security cameras. As he walks by other homes, if in close enough range they lose connection for the 10 seconds it takes for him to walk by the home. Ok now you ask which neighbors experienced these disconnections and it'll basically show the trail in which the perp walked/how he entered the neighborhood.

Why I find this investigative lead to probably be a dead end:
The home are very spread out in that neighborhood. The range of consumer grade jammers are quite small.
"Average consumer-grade Wi-Fi jammers typically have an effective range of 10 to 50 meters (roughly 30 to 160 feet)"

This perp didn't have some military grade signal jammer that could reach multiple homes at once.
Also BE himself said that NGs specific area in the neighborhood has terrible cell service. Could all be coincidental. A lot of times my wifi router resets itself in the middle of the night. I stay up really late and have experienced many times where my service/wifi drops out between 2-5 AM.

Unfortunately I don't think this will get them anywhere. Kinda shows that LE has nothing concrete and yet again are grasping at straws. JMO
I searched for "jammer plus backpack" and there it is. One perp is holding the backpack near the camera (I think), and this reminds me of the perp on NG-video, who was filmed by a neighbor's camera a certain time before Nancy's abduction. You remember? He also was holding a bag or something over a wall/a fence, then took it back. I wondered, what that was supposed to mean.
Is there a connection; do we now perhaps know the purpose of the (filled) backpack of the Lantana man?

Agree the backpack was filled with light items such as tarps. JMO
I feel uncomfortable saying this, but I'm going to say it anyway: a body bag would probably be lightweight - but it might not explain the blood on the porch, unless it wasn't zipped all the way.

If it was a stalker or someone obsessed with SG, I wonder if any of her childhood memorabilia was taken.
I am guessing some family photos for sure. I am also going to refer you to that Instagram video SG posted of an old home movie showing her mom and AG and herself. It was odd and seemed out of place. I initially chalked it up to grieving. However, I then thought this was like an acknowledgement from SG that perhaps a corresponding still photo was missing from the home. I cannot find it anywhere I look. It was online and on TV. Anyone know where to look? JMO

Criminals don't care if something is prohibited.
True, but it isn't like you can go to Temu or any other supplier and buy military grade equipment. My comment was directed at the claim that a wifi jammer could jam all radio communications, gps, cellular, wifi.... The small jammers people are calling Temu jammers don't have near this capability and are directed specifically at wifi. Any jammer capable of jamming all radio communications is way beyond the scope of what LG may have had and would be huge, heavy and military grade....think electronics warfare.

The couple said they have four Ring cameras on their property, and that the one that is closest to Guthrie's home said “not available” when they went to look for footage from the overnight hours on the day of the abduction.

I believe they are claiming that when they went back and looked later, they noticed that one camera wasn't recording at the relevant time.

I think there are a lot of assumptions being made about a possible wifi/internet outage in the area.

I believe investigator were likely attempting to corroborate some information they might have been told. By asking various neighbors if they noticed any disruptions. MOO

Maybe someone purposely disconnected that camera so it wouldn’t show anything? Not knowing if this is the home the FBI have been to multiple times? They would be able to find out, I believe from the security company, right? Maybe it’s nothing, but seems off to me.

I agree completely.

I was wondering about the neighbor's camera and the fact he/she said that period of time was unaccounted for or the camera wasn't operating.

My thought was that this theoretical jammer jammed not only the WiFi but the cell service between Ring (or whatever camera service) and the provider's network.

I've asked this before and not sure if it's been answered. Was NG removed from her home in her pj's/nightgown? Does anyone know if the perp made her change clothes?

Wifi jammers have a fairly short range, especially the type you can carry around in your pocket. They won't knock out an entire neighborhood. They might not even knock out an entire home system, just the parts nearest the jammer. Think 50-100 feet or so, depending on model and power. That part could be important in this case.

They are also illegal for anyone to own, sell, or operate under federal law. Since they work by flooding the typical wifi bands of 2.4GHz/5GHz with noise, they can also be detected as they leave an unmistakable signature.

Think of it like a digital hurricane. Nothing else can be heard over it.

This is why EVERY home security system needs to include a hard wired ethernet component to complement wireless. Criminals are increasingly using jammers, which unfortunately aren't that hard to find if you are truly determined, regardless of the fact that they are strictly illegal.

A camera that is hardwired to the router and goes through a cable is unaffected by any jammer, and will record to the cloud, send notifications to your phone, and continue to operate normally even in the case of a jammer attack. Some even detect jammer attacks (because of a sudden flood of information on 2.4 or 5 GHz bands which can ONLY be a jammer).

Everyone should know this for their own security. ANY wireless camera is pretty easy to take offline by these criminals.

Now, if only the one camera on the neighbor's house closest to NG's house was affected that is solid evidence of a portable jammer. It could also explain why cameras reportedly went offline yet captured images later on.

As the perp walked around the house the radius of the jammer would move as well, causing its effects to travel. It would also suggest where the perp was and when, as most systems will tell you in the event log when exactly they went offline.

Moral of this story: install hard wired cameras. They are harder to install but jammer proof.

All of this means this is more likely to be a lone perp. Walkie talkie suggests a second person. Wifi jammer doesn't move the needle either way, but it doesn't support a second person the way coms would.

JMO, but I don't think the perp's intention was ever to shoot Nancy. I also don't feel that she was SAed. The sheets, tarps may have been brought to wrap her up in for on the way out and to keep the car/trunk free of NG's dna. And they may have been used to bury her later. All jmo.

l don't recall her clothing ever being mentioned by LE or media.

In Tucson, the garbage cans must be taken to the street. JMO
Well, believe me, if you have say, municipal pickup, and you have a disability, with proper medical documentation, they will come to your yard. Similarly, some areas where i live have NO MUNICIPAL pickup and must private pay. For an additional fee, they will come down the driveway. JMO

I believe the jammer is in his backpack and the outline seems partially visible. The pocket could have a walkie talkie. Both can be present here.

I remember Nanos stating early on that she was taken from her bed. He then said he meant it figuratively. Could he have slipped and meant she was taken in her bedtime clothes?

The FBI were back out in Nancy's neighborhood yesterday and a street they were seen going down was E Camino Miraval.

There was a Larceny reported Sunday January 25th at 6:07 a.m.
in the 2500 block of E Camino Miraval - just 4 minutes away from Nancy's.

That was exactly one week to the day that Nancy went missing.

It's possible.
