snipped for brevity:

About 3 weeks before Kelli disappeared, there was a soldier raped very close to the bar. I would say probably within a mile of the bar. From where NH allegedly dropped her off, she would have had to walk quite a bit. From my understanding, from what has been in the news, the first victim of the serial rapist was jogging early morning. All the rest of the victims were asleep and the rapist broke in. Let's just say the rapist was stalking and then all of a sudden, down walks Kelli, cute blond girl, and the rapist finds a new target.

Going with your scenario, why does he kill and hide her? That's not been his MO.... but, (to answer my own question) what if Kelli actually knows this person and can name him... where the other victims of this rapist can't...

I have seen cases in which a rapist who doesn't kill, does when he knows the victim can really ID him...

Yes. And in several cases, in past years, I have heard about the rapist going one step further with one victim and that becomes the new MO.

I truly wish Kelli's entire family a great holidays, to the best of their abilities

It would be awesome if the Ft Bragg soldier's conduct their own search and investigation for Kelli, if that's allowable

The serial rapist theory is interesting. And not all a 1million to 1 longshot

I took some time for all of you to read up on some of the recent rapes/crimes in the Fayetteville NC area and from reading these news stories, the possibility of Kelli falling victim to this rapist is very real

This is a complete google.com search with several stories of the rapist at large in the area.

It's pretty eye opening

Since many on WS Kelli's disappearance believe the possibility of a rapist on the loose, here's a link I found.

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- A crime alert in Fayetteville has residents of one neighborhood on edge. Four women have been sexually assaulted at one complex in the past four years.

The latest attack happened in the King's Grant condos off Ramsey Street.

The scariest part according to a criminal profiler is that this attacker may be living among, or close to his victims.

Amber McLamb is on edge knowing a rapist is on the loose in her neighborhood.

"It's so close to home and I'm an avid runner," said McLamb. " It makes me nervous just knowing who is around."

McLamb lives a few blocks from the King's Grant condominiums. Police say sometime after 3 a.m. Friday a suspect pried open a window, climbed in and sexually assaulted a resident while her roommate slept in another bedroom.

The suspect in this incident is being described as a white male between the height of 5' 8" and 5' 11" tall. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark colored hoodie that's described as being of a wind-breaker material.

"What I am telling you is you have got a serial burglar here who is a rapist, not a serial rapist who is just entering homes," said criminal profiler Dr. Maurice Godwin.

Godwin has worked many high profile cases, including the DC sniper attacks and the disappearance of Kelli Bordeaux. He thinks the suspect may be involved in as many as eight attacks in north Fayetteville, since 2009.

"He is stalking them," said Godwin. "They are coming and going from apartments and condos and he is stalking then when they are jogging or walking along."
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact Special Victim Unit detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).

This news story about the rapist at large was published just 2 DAYS AGO

http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/7988324/

This rapist seems to wear a hoodie and always covers the victim's face. The rapist has been attacking condo/apt complexes, where he kicks the doors down while women are sleeping

Fayetteville, N.C. — Police are investigating a sexual assault that was reported early Saturday at an apartment complex near Morganton and Westlake roads to determine if it's linked to other sexual assaults in the Fayetteville area.

A 38-year-old woman reported that a man forced his way into her apartment in the Morganton Crest complex at about 12:50 a.m. as she slept and then sexually assaulted her.

Police said the woman tried to get a look at her attacker, but the man covered her face. After he left, she went to another apartment and called 911.

"She came to the apartment, like, really freaked out, and I was freaked out too, so I called 911 and everything," resident Cierra Bowen said.

The woman was treated at a local hospital and released.

Police said they don't know if the attack is connected to a July 6 incident that occurred about two miles away. In that case, a man kicked open the door to an apartment in the Brittany Place complex in the Montclair neighborhood and raped the woman inside. The assailant in that case also covered the victim's face.

There was no word on whether either incident is linked to a string of burglaries and sexual assaults reported in Fayetteville and Hope Mills between June 2009 and January. In each of those cases, a man broke into an apartment late at night and sexually assaulted a woman."At the present time, of course, it's too early to tell," said Dan Grubb, spokesman for the Fayetteville Police Department. "Our task force will absolutely look at a link there and see if there is a tie."

In some of the cases, the attacker stole money or jewelry from his victims. Police said the woman in Saturday's attack had something stolen from her apartment, but they declined to be more specific.

The Morganton Crest complex has no fencing or gates, although several other apartment complexes nearby do.

"Even though there's one way in and one way out, they should be gated or have security in the front," Bowen said.

Sorry to make several posts tonight, but I do want to try to help out by showing everyone the rash of rapes/murders to young women in the Fayetteville NC area.

This story involved the death of a Ft Bragg female who was found I guess near the Cape Fear landing slip and also is I understand fairly close by Froggys.

Further reading her boyfriend was charged with her murder. Her body was found about 7 miles from Froggy's near the Cumberland Landing/Bridge area.

I've wondered if LE has searched this Landing & Cape Fear River banks?

Fayetteville is like some kind of rape capital of the area. There are a lot of rapes there, not just at the time of Kelli's disappearance but over many, many years. It's a known town where women must be extra cautious and vigilent. But it's not just rapes that occur there. Robberies, murders, drugs, they have it all and they have it in spades.

Those rapes/sexual assaults in and around the FB area could have just as easily been NH. I wonder if they have ceased since his incarceration?

Edit - and this is coming from someone who is quite skeptical of his involvement. I just think that going down this logical road could just as easily implicate him as exonerate him.

Let's just say the rapist was stalking and then all of a sudden, down walks Kelli, cute blond girl, and the rapist finds a new target. He has been doing this since 2007, at least, and not been caught. From what I have seen/heard of NH, obviously I don't know him personally, but from news interviews, he doesn't seem like the brightest bulb. He more than likely did not finish high school, seeing as he was arrested at age 16. He was caught right after he raped the 5 year old child, ect. If he was responsible for her disappearance, I truly believe it would have been solved. FPD has some very bright detectives, and if he had done it, I am sure they would have caught him by now. As for her husband, he would be an obvious suspect, just based upon history. Look at all of the recent cases involving soldiers and their spouses being murdered, and it has been the husband (or wife or married boyfriend) who did it. But if he was in Florida, and did not leave Florida, he couldn't be in 2 places at once.

Don't confuse intelligence with being cunning. Predators like NH are quick to learn and adapt. The level of formal education has nothing to do with that. Also, remember, those fairly bright detectives have stated that NH, not the husband, knows more information that can lead to Kelli.

Tonto-- the story I just posted was about 3 days ago, woman's condo door was kicked in, she was raped, burglarized

This rapist wears a hoodie, covers his victims faces and has been doing this early mornings

Probably the same guy

Anyone's thoughts are welcomed

I've read somewhere Nick was released from prison n around 2007? Is that correct?

The Fayetteville rapist has been on the loose since 2007 and it seems the rape/burglary's have been steady since 2009 to 2012. Det Godwin believes the rapist is a burglar first, then a rapist

On what income has Nick survived on since his release?

Froogy's owner said he did odd jobs for him, but that can't be very much income for gas, car insurance, food, etc. He did save money living in his car

So since 2007 where did Nick work or did he just get medicaid, live off the govt, food stamps, etc?

For a guy not making much income, from what we know so far, I'm wondering how did Nick survive?

Since Nick will be in jail for awhile, I wonder if LE is bringing in previously sexaully assaulted/raped women in the area to view a line up of different suspects?

Holbert was imprisoned in the NC DOC/PS system from 09-15-2003 until 07-12-2008, on 3 separate charges.

Good question about how he got along. My guess is, doing odd jobs for FB, he also ate their food and drank their soda/beer/etc...I wouldn't be surprised if he also did odd jobs that weren't steady.

He did some painting for a while there too. That ended because of his unreliability. Froggy's didn't serve food. They had a breakfast car out front in the mornings though. He may have eaten there. I'm not sure on that. He never acted as if he had money. He did always have smokes on hand though.

Thanks VOH. I completely forgot. You had told us before about the food car.

NH also was looking after a lady's pets, so she helped him out including getting him a prepaid phone.

Great question MASOOTZ

I'm wondering now the same thing if LE has looked at the homes where Nick did odd jobs?

Especially if the homeowners were away for long periods of time, Nick could easily have driven there, maybe even had a key for access, and maybe disposed of Kelli in their backyards if wooded enough to conceal a human being.

Thanks Madeleine74 I did'nt know the neighborhood had that bad of history of rapes.

I did find this site which can help everyone see for themselves. This gives aerial photos, markers of the rapes from around the Bordeaux's apt complex near Ramsey Street.

Very interesting stuff on this site
