Sundrop, you seem to have a grasp on what is going on. Any explanation on why there's not even an indictment yet? This seems to be dragging on longer than normal.

Well I hope it's not the latter. I think we had discussed it in brief earlier on. I think it could present a problem for the DA if it is determined that the PI was acting as an "agent" for LE and NH had previously exercised his right to remain silent, which I'm sure he did at some point. I would think that would show itself as a Motion to Dismiss or Motion to Suppress Evidence, if and when charges are ever brought.

Here's the deal though. IF IF IF IF it is ruled that the PI was acting as an agent of LE and IF IF IF IF Nick had asserted his right to remain silent when talking to LE, then any evidence found as a result of that violation of his constitutional rights would be inadmissible, including the discovery of her body. The longer this goes, the more concerned I am getting frankly.

Or... it could be nothing is happening and there are other cases in the pipeline ahead of this one. Or... we're not privy to any info and unless someone who is privy to info (like Sundrop) pops in to tell us something, we'll not otherwise know.

Deeply saddened to read cause of death. I pray Kelli didn't suffer long. I think of her often. RIP Kelli.

I think we are in that familiar "lull time" -- the period between arrest and trial where we hear about search warrants if they have been sealed and the 30--60 days have elapsed; or a True Bill has been handed down by a Grand Jury, etc., etc. The Long Wait between arrest and plea deal, or the longer wait till trial. Patience and other cases on WS are the only remedy. A trial prolly won't be scheduled until late in 2015 or later. Cumberland County has a lot of crimes/trials. Ho-hum.

I'll re-check the docket...

ETA: Well, we have a new date, but again it's in District Court. Maybe it will be newsworthy enuff to make MSM.

It's scheduled in District Court, so it shouldn't be The Trial, IMO, but maybe this time it will be noteworthy and we will get the details.

We'll see.....

It would be nice if MSM did an article updating the current status. There has to have been an actual indictment by this point. They can't just hold somebody without charges being leveled. There has to have been discovery going on by this time. I agree with you. I would hope by February we get some indication of the case status.

Give the local Fayetteville newspaper a call or send them an email and ask them to write an update on the status of the case.

There's problems with the case. Also, the killer of Danielle Locklear has not been indicted either

You wanna expound on that? Usually those problems are played out in the form of motions to dismiss etc... where we know what is going on. I suspect they are going to argue that the PI was acting as an agent of LE like we've discussed, but usually that plays out in the form of a Motion to Dismiss or Motion to Exclude Evidence. There has been zip reported on this trial.
