Holbert has not even been indicted, so the motions wouldn't be forthcoming at this time

Yeah know all about it, not sure it matters the guy confessed but a lot of problems with the case, he's not even been indicted

This is very upsetting. I feel so awful for Kelly's family.

"A private investigator who located the body of a missing Fort Bragg soldier and helped Fayetteville police arrest a suspect in her death said Monday that he has found more of her remains that authorities missed at the crime scene."

Wow! Thanks for finding. That does not sound good. Well at least NH remains in jail...
Will add this to the news thread:

Lazy, incompetent

This shocks and saddens me!! How could they have not found all the bones the first time? The location has been open for all these months, who knows how many people have come through! I wonder if her body was in different parts? Sickening and sad! But with these bones just now being found, wonder what that will
Do to the case?

Nothing really changes in the case, nick has not been indicted yet

  • #791
Bones often get scattered from wildlife activity. She may have started out intact but things happen over time (animals, weather).

I hope whatever these issues are preventing an indictment are not so serious that NH will basically get a free pass out the front door of the jail. He's a dangerous offender and the public needs to be protected from him.

These bones were still in the grave

  • #793
Wow..still in the same grave they found her and just now found?!?!?

  • #794
Police CSI and SBI did a poor job

  • #795
Then lazy is a good word for it.

However, it doesn't change anything. The remains they did manage to recover were positively ID'd. NH is still the killer. The complication with the PI is still the same complication, whatever that ultimately means in the case.

However, two different autposy reports gave different cause of death, one beating and one stranglation, the hyoid bone was left in the grave and was broken

Wow..what will this mean to a jury? So messed up... I just don't get how this could happen? I think FPD is a good dept, but I have always wondered why they didn't go harder after NH? We spent how many months on websleuths trying to figure out what happened to Kelli, because NH was running free and from what we could make, not a suspect. What is the deal with NH? He rapes his 5 year old
Neighbor and gets but a few months. Now he murders a soldier and is just chilling in jail.

  • #798
NH was always a suspect. The primary one and the only one who could be the last placed with the victim. Some WSers didn't want to believe the violent sex offender homeless dude last seen with Kelli could possibly be involved and were hellbent on blaming others, but NH was always in the detectives' sights as the probable perp, and they were right all along.

He could have done both and either could have been fatal. Her death is still a homicide and NH still did it and admitted it. If I'm on the jury that's what matters the most to me.

Wasn't NH her friend or was he the guy who worked at the bar?
