I was thinking since he is a sex offender and of a young child, that LE might want to search a few of the local school grounds. Just in case he wanted to feed a fantacy or something.

And also cemeteries in the general area.

I still can't get past a few things that haven't really been confirmed by LE.

I cannot locate where LE confirmed that NH picked KB up, and dropped her off. Only that NH is saying that he picked her up and dropped her off.

or used her phone while she was up singing Karaoke? just a thought (it has been reported she was singing karaoke)

If I was Nick I would not do this while she is singing Karaoke, I would be worried that the friend would text back, tipping off that I had sent the text. I think she might have sent the first text .... but why would she? that is the question I have, why would she be reporting to her friend in Fla. unless it was something they discussed earlier....makes no sense...IMHO

LE has not confirmed many of the things being assumed. If there isn't a direct quote from someone official then it hasn't been confirmed by them.

Was Kelli's brother on HNN tonight? I cannot find the video, but Kelli's brother may have stated that NH gave Kelli a ride to and from the bar. I'll keep looking for this.

  • #247
IF the brother revealed the text comments and recipient, then I believe it.

I just think the whole "A MAN is taking me home" does not sound like a normal text that a girl would send to her friend. It just sounds wrong. It makes it sound like someone that she has never met that is a man is taking her home. I can't see her sending that herself. If I got a random text from a friend that said "A Man is taking me home", I would be totally confused and think that she was playing a joke on me. Who sends a text like that??

If the family doesnt believe she sent the text, and they have more information than we do that says a lot to me in this case. I believe i have fallen off the fence and have one burning question. Where is Kelli!

Matt Henson said he doesn't believe his sister sent the message, or one to the same friend about an hour earlier saying she was getting a ride home with a man.

"Things don't add up. That's very plain for anybody to see," said Henson, who has been searching for his sister since she disappeared after leaving Froggy Bottoms bar on Ramsey Street at 1:20 a.m. April 14.

Are the LE questioning the daylights out of NH trying to get him to give up her location at this time before he lawyers up? Is this why no searches and the bitter silence?

Is "a man is taking me home" a direct quote of one of the two texts KB allegedly sent? It could be someone's interpretation of the text. Unless we see a direct quote....I'm not treating it as such.

He did. He stated what the texts said and who they were to. He said the guys name was Justin and that is all they said about his name. He did say that Nick gave Kelli a ride to and from the bar but never said that this was confirmed by LE. He did say that he does not believe that she ever made it home.

Okay, I am going to show my age here, I don't text...so can people who text answer me a few questions...

When you text to someone, can you then erase the text after sending it, so that if the person your texting replies, you don't see the original text you sent? I can see this is not what a normal person would send, the verbage is all wrong. But I still think Nick would know there would be a risk that in the return of the text from her friend, that he would be found out for having used her phone hence tipping Kelli off as to something being amiss, which could make her choose to take a different ride home, hence foiling his plans for not only that night, but for any future nights.

Edited to add, could he have made the text then removed her battery? This would make it so she could not get any new texts from her friend, yet no risk of the friend texting her back. Who would check to see if the battery is still in the phone, if the phone would not turn on, you would just assume it needed charged....hmmmm

I know if I saw that someone had touched my phone it would freak me out, and I would make an assumption making me choose a different ride home, a taxi or the like.

Could he have made that text and then shut her phone off. I think about this too, but if she is the type who is on her phone constantly you would think she would notice. IMHO

Yes you can delete a text from your phone after you send it. It will still be in a log file at the cell phone carrier's, and of course the person who received the text will have it, but it won't show up in your list of texts in your phone if you delete it from your phone.

I'm curious if LE did find her phone (and I'm not assuming they did), if NH's fingerprints are on it.

Makes no sense for her to text a friend in FL about arriving safely back home from a bar in NC. Nope. This confirms my suspicion that those texts were sent as a red herring. And how ironic they were sent to the ONE person NH had met who he knew for sure was a friend of KB's.

Very ironic. Would love to know the time the text was sent. Was it right before the battery was removed from the phone? (Assuming that was the way the phone was disabled...)

I'm betting it was. I'm also laying odds that it was the last time the phone pinged - near Froggy's.

We don't know what time the first text to "Justin" was sent. The second text, "Got home safely" could have easily been sent at 2:30 or later without causing any hint of alarm.

Does anyone know if KB has an alarm system in her apt? Just wondering if there's any indication she did return home that night.

In the article that Nursie posted farther back, Kelli's brother Matt is quoted as saying, "everything was left as if you'd be back in a few hours."

Combined with that statement and his others saying that the family doesn't believe Holbert dropped her off, plus LE verifying that the phone last pinged outside of Froggy's, I think it is reasonable to conclude they have multiple indications that Kelli never did make it back to the apartment at all that night.

If LE says phone last pinged there, that's one layer. If family says apartment looks normal, that's another layer. Family further states that none of them believe she was dropped off at all, and they've been given far more information than we're aware of - that's another. Also, search focus areas haven't been central to the apartment, but rather Froggy's.

Cumulative info from valid sources consistently points away from Kelli's return. Seems like a safe bet for me to consider it most likely correct. I'm going forward with the premise that Kelli was last seen with NH near Froggy's - and never made it home from there.

"Henson said Holbert has acknowledged that he picked up Bordeaux in his car and took her home. Holbert told WTVD Channel 11 that he dropped Bordeaux off near the entrance of her apartment complex.

Which doesn't mean Holbert really did pick Kelli up, only that the family is aware that Holbert said he did.

Mind you, 'acknowledged' could be a synonym for 'admitted'. It implies that he had to agree to that as fact. Perhaps others knew Holbert had picked Kelli up, so he had to acknowledge that, too, as part of his attempt to weave partial truths in amongst the other lies.

Also, even if Nick did pick Kelli up, there is nothing to indicate where he picked her up, it might have been from somewhere other than at the apartment complex.

Has there been any indication that Nick slipped a roofie in Kelli's drink? Was she suddenly acting tired? If this is the case, he could get her out of the bar and she would pass out, he puts her in a trunk or a back seat with a blanket thrown over and she is out for the count for a bit. At least long enough for Nick to go back in the bar and know Kelli wasn't waking up right away.
