NC vs. Raven Abaroa ~ the Trial

Hi fellow WSers. I'm new to WS (although I've lurked in the Travis Alexander board) I have a question... Has the husband offered another solution to her murder? TIA

(hope I'm doing this correctly!)

Welcome! :seeya:

No I didn't know Janet personally... I became involved with the case here at WS and back then my husband and I built websites for a living. Janet's family asked us to help them build a memorial website for Janet. TearsforJanet.com. During that time I flew out to Durham to meet the family and help with the Candle Light Vigil and after that stayed pretty wrapped up in the whole case. I had the pleasure of meeting a lot of Janet's family and close friends over that time period, gathering photos, and lot's of emails with ideas and info for the website back and forth, that kind of thing.

ETA: It was really hard not to fall in love with this family. They are really strong amazing people. Mrs. C is a special kind of woman, that's a fact!

Ahh, thank you for your perseverance and loyalty to Janet's family and this case. I am so happy you are here, now that we finally have a trial, to give us your insight and opinions.

Yeah, what my friend with crappy manners said :drumroll:

For the life of me I can't find a link to the ABC Primetime show that they did on the case. I spent hours transcribing it and even those files are nowhere to be found. Sorry about that.

(My DH who did a whole lot of work on this with me passed away last summer and I am guessing a lot of my files are on his computer, which isn't up and running anymore.)

If anyone finds a link to that show anywhere I'd love to have it.

Oh sweet friend. Hugs and love to you. :grouphug:

Looking for the link myself.

Hey, we're all here at WS for a reason and this is the case that grabbed me, so I'm happy to still be here.

I've been going back and reading old old threads too. Wow, I have forgotten a heck of a lot of the details that so many great sleuthers found and shared. I had totally forgotten that Ted Kennedy's death was yet another thing that shoved Janet's murder out of the media spotlight. I think the ABC show was postponed because of it. We lost a great blogger because he went with the Runaway Bride story instead of Janet's and later wished he hadn't. That kind of stuff.

Thanks. I appreciate that. Funny thing is.... today is his WS anniversary date. His handle was JelloShotz and he didn't post, he did a lot of reading and he did his best to keep me out of trouble.
:tyou:

That is so sweet. I'm sure you miss him crazy :(

Oh I do, and depending on how this trial goes I may need another babysitter here to keep me from getting banned. LMAO!

No you won't. This trial and the thread will remain civil and focused on justice for Janet. Public lynchings not allowed.

I found this in my photobucket account. Raven and Kaiden sitting at the desk playing on the computer. It came from some media site a number of years ago. Raven looks so very different now.

I found the interview that I was looking for. I confused the WRAL video with the ABC special. Blonde moment for sure.

Raven Abaroa talks to Fox 50's NC Wanted in October 2007 about his life with his late wife, Janet Christiansen Abaroa, and her death.

This is a video interview in four parts and will give you an idea of what Raven is like. This was May 13, 2009.

I don't know why it says May 13, 2009 on the links and the video was in 2007. Gave me another "duh" moment.... I've had a lot of those today. Crikey!!

BTW: Raven loves the sound of his own voice.

He does. I always wonder what goes wrong in someone's life/head/spirit/whatever that can make us forget our most basic moral codes.

Oh oh oh, you might be right!

I honestly believe this man has no moral codes. I feel he's another Scott Peterson. He mirrors other people to try to figure out how to "act" and he is purely lacking in any kind of moral compass, empathy, emotional attachment, any of it. Is that what we still call a sociopath? I know that's the word that was thrown around a lot during the SP case. This is not your 'nice guy next door' guy. He's empty and he needs to feel in control all the time. I think it makes him angry. All just my humble opinion.

Listening to his voice again in that video kinda bugs me, turned him off. Must launch iTunes and get it out of my head.

Maybe nervous knitting? I don't know who she is. Also not sure who the lady with the silver earrings is.

Whomever they are, please friends, let's not let this become a mud slinging contest. I beg we all focus on justice and leave both families out of our discussions. :please:
You're right. I apologize.

That's an interesting note on the date. I took it as correct, of course, and wondered why he would wait so long to do something like that - I mean if one would EVER do something like that.
Was Raven ever a suspect early in the investigation?
