I believe that is when he made several stops. He arrived in Vegas around 7:30 am. LE showed the truck driving straight through the valet lane at the hotel, then driving away. Then several stops were made and they know the businesses involved, just didn't say what they were.

That's curious unless he had the time and was getting up courage. At first I thought the long route had to do with buying the mortars, but they are illegal in CO, NM, AZ and Nevada, per google searches.

I live in Colorado. Going directly west from Denver is Interstate 70. He would have encountered snow and very low temperatures on those days. I don't know how prevalent charging stations are along that route, but that could have been a factor too.

A few years ago, we drove to Boulder, Colorado from South Texas. We avoided the shorter route due to weather. Glad we did. My daughter and her BF took the shorter route through Raton Pass. They ended up closing the pass and were delayed by a day.

found a Defense Department Common Access Card in the Cybertruck which exploded at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. The name on the card is Matthew Alan Livelsberger. He shows him at the pay grade of E8 or Master Sergeant. His journey to NV started on Dec. 28.

Maybe he wanted to reassure himself the lane was free, no crowds. This guy didn't want to hurt anyone except draw attn to the hotel owner & vehicle company owner. So, what was he trying to draw the nation's attn to? Also, there are 2 hotel owners, not just one.

It is very likely they will get a lot of additional data from the car. Telsa has an in-cabin camera that records and saves locally inside the car as well as a dashcam. The storage is in the front of the car inside the glove box so it may have survived. Tesla will also know where and have video at charging stops.

I can tell you first hand about the camera data. It depends on the privacy selection of the owner. Some data is stored only in the car (the inside cabin camera) and cannot be sent to Tesla. Some external camera data can be viewed if your privacy settings allow it. All of it is stored. There will be telemetry for speed data linked to traffic and weather monitoring (which it uses to update the Tesla Navigation system). Tesla also keeps a very robust set of data locally about the car. Tesla techs have access to all of this without the owner if they need it, its in the fine print of the privacy agreement. (if you go for service, you don't even need to provide a key)

I think if he wanted to carry out a mass killing he would have used the Tesla to run down pedestrians same as Jabbar, imagine what a Cybertruck could do to pedestrians with its weight and sharp edges doesn’t bear thinking about. Instead the explosion took place at a time when most residents of the hotel would be asleep. I don’t think at all it was a terrorist attack. Plus being special forces he would be an expert in explosives and know what is involved yet he used some fireworks and a gas canister

Regardless of whether they killed anyone, they were planned and executed to ensure the public was terrified so the message of their act could be spread across the US and world. They both wanted to instill terror in the general population and they accomplished that goal.

Having driven that shorter route myself, in early January, all I can say is that much of it is not plowed regularly and parts of that Utah section are pretty desolate (the part between Green River and Salina).

The southern route is rarely shut down completely due to snow (although it can be, it is plowed regularly). Also, none of it is particularly desolate. For all we know, he stopped by Grand Canyon as well. Maybe he was concerned about finding enough charging stations.

But I'm guessing the Big Snow shutting the I-70 on Christmas may have factored into it. Colorado News is saying there is continued avalanche danger:

By definition, both of these attacks are terrorist attacks. Regardless of whether they killed anyone, they were planned and executed to ensure the public was terrified so the message of their act could be spread across the US and world. They both wanted to instill terror in the general population and they accomplished that goal.

I don’t think this incident was planned to cause fear to the population, there has been no manifesto or a shred of evidence of extremism or radicalisation. I think it is just a case of a severely mentally unwell man taking his life and wanting the maximum attention.

The explosion went off at a quiet time of day where 90% of guests would be asleep after the excesses of NYE, i don’t think he can be compared with Jabbar
