Suarez (on cross examination) is upset because "the govt" is laughing at his questions ... sitting back there laughing at his questions.

He wants the record to reflect that the govt is laughing at its own attempts to destroy the country.

This is all because Ivanka was speaking positively about the govt - a first for any member of the trump family.

"I've objected hundreds of times now," an exasperated Kise said, arguing that the state attorneys used documents with less foundation provided.

"I continually object to your constant insinuation that I have some sort of double standard. It's just not true," Engoron replied forcefully.

Ivanka Trump, sitting feet away from Engoron, appeared to watch the exchange in disbelief.

"I wish it were different. I respect your honor's position. I just see these ruling ... frequently going in a different direction," Kise said.

"Their objections have been of greater validity than yours," Engoron shot back.

he isn't using racial epitaphs for the AG, rather he continues to call attorney Leticia James a "racist"
Does anyone understand why he is calling her racist? Have I missed something?

Trump believes--and a whole lotta of voters agree--this lawsuit is a direct result of "reverse" racism and was brought for purely political reasons. If anything, it has had the opposite result of what the DA intended: Trump is the leading Republican presidential candidate for 2024 even though he is refusing to debate.

I never voted for Trump and certainly would not vote for him in 2024, but taxpayers are picking up the tab for this nonsense, which Trump is successfully exploiting as a form of paid advertising for Trump. He's luvin every second.

Trump is a toxic narcissist. Toxic narcissists thrive on attention no matter whether it is negative or positive. They never take responsibility for their own actions and blame everyone else.

Thursday, November 9th:
*Bench Trial continues (Day 26) (@ 10am ET) – NY - New York vs. Donald J. Trump (76/now 77), Donald Trump, Jr. (45) & Eric Trump (38/now 39) & the Trump Organization, Inc. (Allen Weisselberg (75/now 76) & Jeffrey McConney) are being sued by Letitia James, the New York Attorney General, who is leading a civil investigation (which cannot result in criminal charges filed on 9/21/22) & has spent years looking at whether the company committed various acts of fraud over several decades. In the civil case, Ms. James has filed a lawsuit against Trump & two of his children accusing them of "astounding" fraud & deception.
New York is seeking $250 million in financial penalties & asked the court to ban Trump, Donald Trump Jr. & Eric Trump from serving as an officer or director in any corporation registered or licensed in New York. James also requested the court ban the former president & his business from acquiring real estate in New York or from applying for loans from any New York financial institution for five years. James's civil case accuses Trump of lying from 2011 to 2021 about asset values at the Trump Organization, as well as his own net worth, in order to obtain better terms from lenders & insurers.
Lawsuit against: Donald John Trump, Donald Trump, Jr, Eric Trump, Allen Weisselberg, Jeffrey McConney, The Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust, The Trump Organization, Inc., Trump Organization LLC, DJT Holdings LLC, DJT Holinds Managing Memer, Trump Endeavor 12 LLC, 401 North Wabash Venture LLC, Trump Old Post of Fice LLC, 40 Wall Street LLC & Seven Springs LLC.
All charges against Ivanka Trump were dismissed in June, 2023.
Bench Trial began on 10/2/23. (could last until 12/22/23 per Judge).
The lawsuit’s remaining 6 counts allege similar acts of fraud (that Trump inflated his assets on statements of financial condition that he submitted to banks & insurers for personal gain).
Judge Arthur F. Engoron presiding / NY State Attorney General Leticia James & senior enforcement counsel Kevin Wallace, Defense attorney Christopher Kise & Jesus Suarez & Alina Habba for Trump, Weisselberg & the rest of the defendants for Trump Org. / Clifford Robert of Robert & Robert PLLC for Donald, Jr. & Eric.
Trump fined $5,000 on 10/20/23 for violating his gag order & on 10/25/23 Trump fined $10,000 for violating his gag order 2nd time. Both paid on 10/30/23 per Alina Habba.
Judge Arthur Engoron on 11/3/23 has expanded a gag order prohibiting Trump’s attorneys from making any further comments about confidential communications between the judge & his staff inside or outside of the courtroom. The judge said violating the order would result in “serious sanctions.”

11/8/23 Update: The AG's office submitted a filing today arguing that some of the Trump team's proposed experts should be barred from testifying when the defense begins presenting its case. The filing contends that three of the experts would opine on issues the judge already decided ahead of trial & that two were listed as rebuttal witnesses against experts the AG's office wound up not calling to testify. Trump's lawyers are expected to respond to the filing in court. The defense is scheduled to begin presenting its case Monday.
Bench Trial continues on Thursday, 11/9/23.

Huh, pale, male, stale and hopefully in jail? I understand. (I know this is a civil trial, but Trump and both his sons have made admissions on the stand-I haven't caught up with Ivanka's testimony yet- and further Trump was deposed for seven hours-which may be used against them in future in criminal courts)

I don't think it's necessarily true that Trump is successfully exploiting this as a form of advertising, but concede he has tried to do that. There may be lots of people who only listen to his short sound bites, and certainly he is getting lots of probably successful exposure with them. However, there are lots of people that are taking notice, and frankly Trump is not coming out well from his exposure. I have read an opinion that Trump's popularity will plummet if he gets any criminal conviction.

His pathology-and I agree he is probably a toxic narcissist-is, unchecked, a danger for America, and frankly the rest of the world. He is not going to stop by himself, as long as he draws breath, and has an audience, he will rant and attack, cause damage and division. Part of that pathology includes this fraudulent behaviour. He needs to be tried, and held to account if found guilty. (I know-count one, but there are six more still to be determined)

Lots of us-me included- believe that he has successfully deployed legal mechanisms to avoid the consequences of his decisions before. Moreover, he is known internationally as a bully. He's never tried to hide that-cross him and see what unpleasantness happens. Teflon, nothing has stuck. And look where that has got us...

I'm fascinated by his legal problems-as subtle as a sledgehammer mostly, hiding boxes of classified documents in a shower, tripling the footage of his penthouse, bragging about defence secrets to someone from a different county whom you were trying to impress, to trying to overthrow the election The frauds that have not been disputed by Trump or his defence involve benefits of millions of dollars, really enormous amounts of money. It's terrible stuff.

I am not interested in politics, but adore true crime. I have never followed a civil trial before, but this one is fascinating.

Even though he is a bully and a former President, and especially if he runs for election again, there really so seem to be important questions that must be answered.

BBM. Trump has done exactly that!
I have no idea how many top secret documents were held in Trump's bathroom, and I truly do not care.

Yes, Trump is a bully, but his "crimes" should not be politically prosecuted. And, most importantly to me, taxpayers shouldn't be picking up the tab.

It is no different to me than attorneys who weaponize the judicial system so that parents can wrongfully be held accountable in domestic relations court for child abuse.

The rule of law is an expensive system, that is true.

But, the expense of court cases isn't the fault of the prosecutors pursuing justice. That's a step away from saying it's the victims' fault when crimes were committed against them. imo

This defendant comes from a place of extreme privilege, and the waste is what he did with it.

The former president ran and won political office. Making him a politician. He is the one who made it political.

Thanks! I did not realize this great reporter added to his article last night.

So - does it Count as a day in court - or not?

Friday is Veterans Day, a federal holiday. (Noting it for those outside USA.)

Donald Trump Jr. set to return Monday to kick off Trump’s defense case in the AG’s fraud trial, according to several sources. While we have a list of 128 possible Trump witnesses, we haven’t heard anything definitive on who will make the final cut or the order.
