I think they are saying she probably came from the areas marked yellow/blue. Cross reference that to the pollen analysis, and it places you in the San Diego, or Arizona areas.

I have a question. Is there a similar map based on the entire globe?

Girl Talked Too Much- Killed And Left In Caledonia Cornfield-

Killer Says Lord Has Come

Livingston County Law Enforcement Officials announced a major development in the five-year old "Jane Doe" homicide investigation. The homicide occurred on November 9-10, 1979, and was discovered by a passer-by who noticed a young woman's body in a cornfield on route 20 between the Towns of Avon and Caledonia in Livingston County.

Following up on information developed by Texas Rangers and early New York contacts, Sheriff Richard Kane and District Attorney Theodore E. Wiggins, Jr . determined it was necessary to interview Henry Lee Lucas, presently in jail in Georgetown, Texas. Major John York and District Attorney Wiggins travelled to Texas and were able to interview Mr. Lucas earlier this week. Henry Lee Lucas did at that interview confess to the shooting death of the Livingston County "Jane Doe".

He identified his victim only as "Nancy" and informed Major York and District Attorney Wiggins that he picked her up in Philadelphia, travelled with her for approximately four days, and killed her when he tired of her talking.

The interview of Mr. Lucas was videotaped and is continuing to be studied. Specifics of his statement cannot be released since their development constitutes the major source of confirmation of the authenticity of the admission, and to identify the victim. Mr. Lucas is presently under a death sentence in Texas for another homicide there. Two more capitol cases are scheduled *or trial in Texas since authorities there are anxious to assure his execution. Louisiana is also proceeding on a capital case. Mr. Lucas has received wide coverage as a "serial killer". He travelled for a long period of time with Otis Toole who is presently incarcerated in Florida. Both Lucas and Toole have received wide media attention following their killings.

Presently, 182 cases of murder attributed to Lucas have been cleared in Texas by various authorities. The killings range throughout the United States and Canada. Mr. Lucas claims he is confessing since the Lord has now come to him and it is all he can do for his victims and their families.

Livingston authorities feel the probabilities are great that he did indeed commit the homicide here. Obviously, Mr. Lucas' circumstances make it necessary to check his statement very carefully. No indictments or charges are presently anticipated
pending further developments in the case and Mr. Lucas" death sentence.

District Attorney Theodore Wiggins

I do not think anybody knows why Cali was heading to Boston, if she was. One trucker driver stated she was trying to get a ride to Boston MA (Wikipedia) but maybe he misunderstood, or she said Boston and he assumed MA?

Wikipedia is the only place I have found that says the head shot was first. Everything else says the back shot was. The articles say they turned her over and found a spent .38 slug buried in the ground under her.....so I am guessing they based that by which area of her body they found the slug under?

I can be no help on the teeth isotopes. I'd like to know that answer as well. Anybody?

Did I miss something a trucker calling in about her? She was trying to go to Boston? Could she have been going to Austin? I can think of a few places that rhyme with Boston. :twocents:

Girl, 16, murdered, name: still unknown

GENESEO, NY. (AP) - The Livingston County coroner calls her Jane Doe, file No 7952. But nine weeks after the teen-age girl was found shot to death in a cornfield near Caledonia, south of Rochester, her true identity remains a mystery. On Wednesday, a few calls came into the sheriff's department, none of which provided any new or worthwhile information on the case, said Deputy Thomas Galbraith. So far the office has checked out more than 3,000 leads to no avail.

Aside from her physical description, all that's known about the girl is that she was about 16, had a slight acne problem, had recently stopped coloring her brown hair blonde, and had two decayed molars. About two hours before she was shot, she ate her last meal, potatoes, corn and boiled, canned ham. Checking 70 restaurants in the area, the police failed to come up with a clue.

The body was discovered on Nov 10 by Sesley Clements, 16, when he and his father stopped to check whether pheasant hunters were in the field. Investigators speculate that when the
girl was shot the day before, she was standing near the shoulder of the road. The killer then apparently dragged her, face down, feet first, about 10 feet into the corn rows, then stood over her and shot her in the back with a .38 calibre gun.
The rain washed away any tire marks, and questioning of residents in the rural area produced nothing.

The investigation so far:
- Flyers describing the girl have been sent to police agencies and runaway centers in the United States and Canada,
- Of the 2,000 persons who have called, some 200 were asked to come to Geneseo to look at photographs-of the girl. Twenty were asked to view the body.
- Sheriff Richard Kane said her photo has, been printed in the National Association of Truck Stop Operators News, which has a circulation of 250,000. He is attempting to get it into the National Education Association's
magazine, hoping a former teacher will recognize her.

Several leads seemed promising In late November, five persons reported seeing a person resembling her smoking marijuana in Florida in a segment of CBS's "60 Minutes". It turned out that was an 11 -year-old boy. So far, the work has only produced a two-inch thick, 179-page file that grows daily. With a list of all missing persons reported in the state, investigators have about 150 girls with similar descriptions, some as far away as Florida, Washington state, and California.

Authorities say the girl was average looking, athletically built; about 5-foot 5, 125 pounds-and had brown hair and eyes. She was wearing corduroy jeans, a plaid blouse and red nylon ski jacket Her summer tan was fading, but the outline of her bikini was still visible. An examination found a small mole on her lower lip, a second small mole below the left eye, a half-inch scar on the hairline above the forehead, and a three-inch scar on the inside right thigh about six inches above the knee - apparently, an old burn scar. The girl wore an untraceable silver necklace with three turquoise stones and had two keychains; One silver colored keychain is shaped like a heart, and is enscribed, "He who holds the key can open my heart." The other has the key to the heart. All calls to the sheriff's office (716 243-1212) are kept confidential.

Sgt John York is heading the investigation for the 50 person department. "I'll have a mental image of this girl's features for the rest of my life," said Coroner Richard C Johnson. 'You know what the girl looks like and you can't impart it to the country - tell them, "Here she is, come identify her." Johnson said the autopsy showed the girl had two eroded molars, one so decayed the root's were showing. The other was worn through the crown.
Her dental history has already ruled out several possibilities for identification. On Jan 5, the body was taken from the morgue and put in a winter receiving vault. It is awaiting burial this spring in a $100 hand-dug grave.

Boston, NY, 1979- would there have been anything going on to draw Cali? Maybe she didn't specify which Boston she wanted to go to, and it was only assumed Boston, MA.

Another possibility is that she thought Boston "Beantown" was Boston, NY. Anything is possible w/ a kid that may not have received much schooling, especially if she was a runaway and frightened/tired. If not this confusion, perhaps she had ties to Boston, NY?

I would also like to know the order of the shots. I read that she was shot in the head first, then dragged, then shot in the back. Based on the published forensics of the crime scene, could the shooter have done head, then back, then set her on her back? But shooting her back, then head makes sense, shoot in the back to disable her, then in the head to finish her off.

Last question- the teeth isotopes- is it possible that those isotope could appear in another country? Did they test for flouride? Did Australia have flouride in its water supply at the time?

BBM. I have read that as well. There was blood on the road from a head shot, then she was taken to the field and shot in the back. It seems a strange order to shoot. But, with that in mind...even though the pictures show her on her back, is it possible she was face down for some time? The only reason I ask, is the way her nose is up turned. If she was in a position for awhile where her nose was pushed up a bit, it may change the shape/look of it. Maybe that was what the new photo was trying to account for.

It seems that if she remained face-down overnight, there would be discoloration in her face from the blood settling into the lowest parts of her body (i.e., "Lividity"). If she was shot in the back, presumably while in a face-down position, the killer probably was the one who flipped her over onto her back. Perhaps the killer did this to empty her front pockets.

BBM. Didn't they did confess to murders they did not commit? If not, it is interesting, because when I do searches for Cali many times Nancy Lynn Jason keeps popping up, even though the height is off (don't woman add an inch or two to their height anyway?).

Cali 5'3"-5'5" (somes sources), 120#, brown, brown, multiple scars, Blood type A-. Poor dental hygiene.

Nancy 18 years old. 5'7", 124#, brown, brown, Blood Type A-. History of epilepsy and seizures, could result in many scars as she was on and off medications, especially if they were tonic/clonic. On medication for seizures (on and off) and those notoriously cause tooth erosion and decay due to gum issues. Date last seen July 20, 1977.

Blood type A rh- is not very common (3.53% in the world per wiki). Dental issues related to anticonvulsants such as is a huge issue causing gum inflammation and severe dental issues.

Was looking at Nancy Lynn Jason earlier tonight. blood type a-negative. don't know how much of a difference that makes. Although she was already 18 in 1977 making her 20 when CD was found. hair was slightly curly and the colour would take the highlights.

It seems that the blood type should limit the field significantly as it cannot change. However i don't know how much info is available on most of the missing.

It seems that her age would rule Jason out but otherwise it seems possible. I don't know how much variation there could be around the age assessment.

What crown? Apparently someone needs to call this police officer and get the actual facts. All reports I see says no dental work?

Anyone who could be her and has not already been eliminated (IMO) deserves a submission at this late stage in the game. we discussed the A- blood type a couple pages back, and apparently it is a VERY rare type to have.
Given that the A- blood type is so very rare.....and both Cali and Nancy have it.....I think this submission needs to go in ASAP!!!
When you look at pics of Cali she looks so very young. Age can't be based on just looks. At 25 with two little boys going everywhere with me, people swore I was maybe 16. I'd get ID'ed to buy things you had to be 18 to purchase. But Cali had unerupted molars......to me that says under 16. (JMHO)
This makes me think once again that one of us needs to call this police officer and get the specifics of this case. Finding her is hard enough, doing so without the correct information is like swimming in a weight belt

Lucas confessed to killing so many people. Who knows when it comes to him? IMO the three things that made them finally discount the Lucas confession are:

(1) In 1979 his known victims were in Florida and Texas. None of them were near the NY area. That does not mean he could not have been there, just lessens the chance a bit
(2) He was traveling with Otis Toole and Becky Powell during this time frame. The waitress did not mention them when she told of seeing the girl.
(3) Cali was not sexually assaulted. Lucas enjoyed having sex with the corpses. Lucas was very well schooled in serial killing. Most of his victims ( I think) were disposed of in ways as to prevent them being located. Left in a cornfield visible from the road....does not at all fit hi M.O.

Lucas moved into Ottis' home in Jacksonville, where he fell in love with his 10-year-old niece, Frieda "Becky" Powell. From 1979 to 1981, Lucas and Toole worked together at a roofing company (some sources claim they were in a homosexual relationship). Lucas later claimed to have committed hundreds of murders during that time, 108 of which were committed together with Toole

Many truckers spoke of seeing her at the truck stop/rest the night before she was killed. She was trying to get a ride. The one trucker said she was trying to get a ride to Boston. This is where it gets confusing. He said she was trying to get a ride to Boston MA, but could she have simple said Boston......and he assumed she meant MA? From the truck rest, to where she was killed.....the route indicates she was most likely heading to Boston NY

May I please have the link to this article?

As horrible as it is, I think this is the order in which it happened. I am basing this on the fact that the head shot had to have happened while she was looking at him.

The killer then apparently dragged
her, face down, feet first, about 10 feet
into the corn rows, then stood over her
and shot her in the back with a
38 calibre gun.

I looked back through and tried to find where we discussed the A- blood type. I feel both girls sharing this blood type is just to much of a coincidence. Vitals can be off, it is not even uncommon for them to be. I hope Nancy gets submitted today!!!!!!

When I look at her Post Mortem photo......not to sound indelicate.....I do see signs of lividity.....the darker areas on her face, are signs that the blood pooled (sp?) there....I know this because my husband died while sleeping face down, once the coroner arrived and they turned him over....I was appalled at the dark places on his face. The coroner explained it to me.

Post on #780 about blood type A-. Also posted on Nancy/Blood type/Meds on #874. A- negative is common in about 3.53% of the world population and about 6% of the US population. The dental issues and the appearance of lack of dental care could very well be from medications used for epilepsy. I would like to see what a Mod thinks before submission.
