Dr White was my favorite witness -- cited Naegele's Rule! He also testified that BSR dropped out of cheer her senior year - which was news to my ear. Regarding BSR weight - I recall prosecutor's objection was sustained here with Judge telling defense that Dr White could not testify as if fact because it wasn't.

Skylar conceived in August, 2016. She took a sports physical on Sept. 13, 2016. She weighed 134 lbs. She weighed 149 when she was weighed, full term, at the OB/GYN in April, 2017. Those are facts, testified to by Dr. White, and without objection.

I disagree with the article as the jury clearly found her not guilty. It is nothing like the OJ case IMO.

Dr. Stuart Bassman testified she had Dependent Personality Disorder

That diagnosis was only given after spending 10 hrs with BSR. Not enough time. IMO

Yes, it's been mentioned before that one of their folks was in the back. I saw her a few times on the live stream. I think this is like the Casey Anthony case, where they gave money to the family perhaps so they could fund the lawyers?

Erin Moriarty from 48 Hours was in court and I believe she was the one aggressively (and obnoxiously, IMO), throwing Q’s about owing SR an apology to the DA during his presser. It’s too bad Erin covered the story because, ugh, well never mind... I will not watch her, she’s the worst, and I haven’t believed her to be objective in the cases she’s covered. JMO.

Skylar gained approximately 15 pounds during her full term pregnancy.

My reply was direct, and the facts unambiguous. 149 lbs fullterm in April minus 134 lbs on 9/13/16 equals 15 lbs.

Skylar gained approximately 15 lbs over the course of her pregnancy.

I've referenced "approximate" for the same reason the judge sustained the State's objection to White stating the 15 lbs as fact. A precise pre-pregnancy weight can't be factually established because her pre-conception weight in August 2016 couldn't be documented.

It's disengenous to argue that her pregnancy weight gain can't be known, fairly precisely, for that matter, because her weight a few weeks prior to September 13 is unknown.

Or did one of the jury findings specifically include bio-mom did not cause her death?

Per the jury, yes... baby was stillborn.

ETA... The jury made a note on the verdict form that she did not cause bodily harm to the baby.

I've seen a few posts that keep referring to one of Skylar's interview quotes stating "she was kinda' big".

Every birth experience is different. I was married and in my mid-20s when my oldest son was born. I was 5' 2" and had always weighed about 100 lbs. I was well informed about pregnancy and birth. He was born a few weeks early, and weighed 5.6 lbs. he was heathy - no problems. Although he was considered pre-term and small.... When he came out and was handed to me... I thought he was "kinda big". In my mind he just arrived out of my fairly small body. (My second son was born 3+ yrs later weighing over 8lbs - quite the difference).

"Kinda' big" is subjective. IMO

I don’t think the baby being born alive then dying shortly after could be ruled out.

ETA... The jury just didn’t think it was at SBR’s hand... and neither do I. She could and should have done many things differently over the course of the pregnancy but I don’t think she killed the child and certainly don’t think she burned her.

I would think that would be a question the investigators would have asked.

Did she share her labor experience with the investigators. If so, how long was she in labor?

I am also curious how long she left the newborn in the toilet.

By her own admission, Skylar didn't have a plan. She didn't know what she was going to do about any of it. She did NOT tell her OB/GYN she didn't want the baby, what she said was she couldn't tell her mother, and that she "couldn't have" the baby. That was directly after being told she was pregnant, which she suspected, but didn't know for sure. She was also told she was 32 weeks; she thought she had time to try to figure out what to do.

She says she researched -once- how to get rid of a baby, but that search wasn't found by electronic forensic investigators. She seems to have chosen denial, essentially, after that, and to have postponed dealing with it until after prom.

2 days after prom- birthed. Quickly. If you believe her baby was stillborn-and I do- I don't know when exactly she could make those plans so many seem to have expected of her.

Time in the toilet? Unknown, if you believe (as I do) LE fed her the answer of 2 minutes (iirc). I don't think Skylar herself knew or knows now. A defense witness testified to answer one obvious (if unsaid)question: could the baby have drowned in the toilet due to negligence by Skylar or as a result of an active but passive decision? Answer to that......very unlikely.

More to the point, the defense made a very strong case that the baby was stillborn.

I agree. Not only that I don’t think she’s even that thin looking. I’ve seen others just as thin and they don’t have a ED. She milked it for all it’s worth imo. Luckily for her she can finally eat since all her stress she caused is over with.
