I wonder what drugs are referred to? Chris Sr. and Kenny had a bunch of small plants at their "grow op". I recall some people being busted for manufacturing meth down near Bethel Hill Rd. the same week that the BCI raided the Peterson Rd and Flying W farms.

There's a lot of information here about the abusive activities of Jake and others prior to the murders.

Some things I wasn't aware of until now:

• Jake's physically abusive behavior included trying to strangle Hanna
• Jake had other people spying on her and reporting to him even after she left and returned home to live with her mom
• Jake made surreptitious recordings of her and his interactions with her while at 2 different residences in the months just prior to the murders
  
• Jake asked Hanna Rhoden not to tell others that her new baby wasn't his
• Jake offered HMR money to put his name on the birth certificate
• Jake limited HMR's access to her own family during the time she was living at his house
• Jake and his family wanted his family to raise S.W. and to have the child think that Angela Wagner was her mother, not Hanna
• GW4 and his family threatening to shoot Tabitha Claytor on the last night she lived with him at his home
• As with Hanna, GW4 refused to let Tabitha contact her family while she was living with him, they also wanted her to allow their child to think Angela Wagner was their mother
  
• Controlling behavior over Jake's second wife, Elizabeth Wagner, including all of her passwords, personal info, installing a tracking device on her phone. Had a PI investigate her. Same behavior as with others - no contact with her family, threats of injury or death, spying on her, etc.
• Incidents of arson on their own properties for personal gain
• Billy threatened Angela Wagner with a gun
• Billy was transporting drugs and engaged in drug trafficking
• Billy threatened and plotted to kill other people in prior instances
• Billy threatened Chris Sr. with a gun a week before the murders
• Having others commit perjury and obstruction of justice to cover up his crimes
• Billy Wagner only moved to FWF because his father was ill. Otherwise they all lived together.
• Engaged in counter-surveillance activities to keep LE from investigating them before, during and after the murders.

There are other acts listed, but they're things we already knew from news reports, indictments, etc.

To paraphrase DeWine and Reader, they were pathological control freaks. A very enmeshed family. I still think some of them (especially Billy) had those crazy beliefs that they were part of some "master race". More than white supremacy, like some sort of superior blood line.

I think some of his tattoos reflected some of those belief systems - stuff related to the supremacy of northern Europeans in particular. @rsd1200 was able to explain some of it. It's cult-like - followers of Odin.

ETA: I don't think others follow it quite so radically as the Wagners. Combined with the Boondock Saints movie (which also has a theme of race/religious superiority, its a toxic mix. Boondock saints also felt their superiority obligated them to go on a mission to destroy/kill others they deemed less worthy.

I always thought you gave the Wagners too much credit for their influence.

But, it looks like you were spot-on about Fred's influence in the local arena using her wealth to control lawyers and witnesses and public officials and the media coverage her own lawyer helped her with. Follow the money and you won't find the Wagner 4, but you will find horses. Fred paid and the Wagner 4 did the "dirty work."

IMO, she was a disaster. Way too dramatic. The worst part was when she kept wagging an accusing finger at AC and the defense side when she spoke. At a minimum, she needs to dial down her dramatics.

It was in one of the MSN video that has been taken off but Lenard spook about the police being up on UNION HILL when the fight was going on, if you recall Jake had a interview with a reporter and was ask about the fight with Hanna May during Billy and Chris Sr. fight and Jake made a mistake and said no I did not kick her door in on Hanna Mays mobile home. FW and before his death, her husband have spent many decades throwing their weight around in the county, whether on their business as landlords, nursing home owners and various real estate dealings. They probably got involved in making sure the people who supported them got elected to public office and when the time came, they had the power and pull to get people thrown off their jobs (Charlie Reader).

In any other state, the Wagners would face charges for trying to interfere, threatening and bribing witnesses. witness tampering.

That's illegal! Why was FW not arrested if she was involved?

Instance of Billy threatening Angela Wagner with a gun.

Billy and his family threatening to shoot TC on the last night she resided with them, before fleeing for her life, never to return to the residence.

Billy and his co-defendants isolating EW from her family during the time she resided with them, at one point threatening to kill her family if they came around.

Defendant's and his family's (co-Defendants) accusations of EW and threatening her with bodily harm and/or death during the time she resided with Defendant and his family.

Making threats to/about BCI agents and/or other law enforcement and government officials.

This is all before he was indicted for shooting and killing 8 people.

Probably from someone who witnessed it. I do remember Sheriff Reader saying that it was found out after their murders, a few confrontations involving the R's went unreported. There's evidence in GW3's discovery that a lot of cell tower activity (1 excel sheet) happened at Big Bear Lake. If that's where GW3 pulled a gun on CRS, there could have been witnesses there to see it all happen.

That poor girl, how terrifying. She's led to believe by her church and pastor (who was quite vocal about it) that the W's were such good Christians falsely accused about so much. She obviously fell in love, married, moved away from her home to then be basically held in a prison of sorts, at least emotionally, if not physically too. She had to deal with death threats and lack of freedoms I'm sure, since she was spied upon...just like HR. My heart goes out to her, she married into a dream and woke up in a living nightmare. AJMO
