The uneasiness is fading as we see the Wagner's facing LWOP.
Next comes the "How on earth did this even happen?" phase begins.
Cancelled sleepovers, Kenny's death, Gary's death, Involvement of other parties in major or minor roles, The red truck, Money at Kenny's feet, Getting past the dogs, all beg for explanation.
<modsnip>
A question I want answered is where GW4's son and SW were while the murders were being carried out.

On DR's route home from the nursing home, would she have driven by CRsr's home?

No, not if she went straight home. DR would have driven by Manleys and next a mile or so is her home.
CRsr place is about 1 mile further down the road. My mileage is a guess.
But his place is close enough, and next to FR that if she wanted to just drive by, it would only be a short delay- turning around and driving straight back home.

But why, if DR had a young daughter who had just given birth and a new born baby at home, why would she do that?

I guess we know who will win the Civil Law Suits that the Rhodens Family have against the Wagners and Rita Newcomb, I sure hope Mr Owens get to go back up against Anna Canepa in court as FWs attorney again, JMO

I doubt AC will have any involvement in the civil case...

from your list above: 2 DIY silencers were used

More than two guns were used in the murders, but only two homemade suppressors were used. Does this imply that factory-made silencers were also used?

Or is it possible that the silencers were used on more than one gun each? Can homemade silencers be used on multiple different firearms or are they built to fit just one?

All MO. Theory.

Considering AC said that Jake said it all started in late evening of 4/21, (not an exact quote) I am surprised.
This makes me think KR was killed first. Remember KR had to wake very early for work, and so I believe he could have been in bed, asleep by 11 pm. W's could not know how early KR would wake or how long their spree on UHR would take. KR must have been first.

Then as CoolCats suggests, W's could have moved on to CRsr close to midnight or slightly later, and that CRsr location might have taken a long while.
I believe it included torture.

After CRsr then on to FR and last of all DR. possibly around 2 am.

Or:
CR and FR were done at the same time:
2 at CR ( BW and GW) and 2 at FR (JW AW).
( However CR place took more time than FR)

Last, All W's at DR place together - about 2 am or so depending upon who created those last FB or Texts from DR computer.

Any thoughts?

I would like to know the story behind the Steak House owner pulling his offer of reward
soon after he issued it. Threats? LE Request?

I doubt he received any threats. Wagners wouldn't care about rewards. They probably thought they had committed the perfect crime.

In those early days, even LE didn't offer a reward, didn't bother processing the paperwork to have Crimestoppers offer one for quite a while. I'm not sure why, but for a long time, I think DeWine and LE felt the Rhodens had been killed by their own family or friends. I think they looked down on the victims at first. That's why a lot of us became very interested in defending them and trying to make people look at the murders in a different light.

Just because you're poor, live in a trailer and race derby cars doesn't mean you deserve to have your family slaughtered.

When Dudly comes back, or rsd1200, they can probably answer that question for you. Both are fairly knowledgeable on the subject.

Thank you Betty P! I am from a very rural area in KY. Though my family didn’t exactly live in poverty, a lot of the families in the area did. That by no means made them any less human! Some were the kind of neighbors that you wished you had all around you. And some were a little more boisterous, like the Rhodens, and would usually be the first to call if they thought you needed something. The very reason I started following this case! Just because you have wealth doesn’t mean you aren’t a cold blooded executioner hiding in a family of so called devout Christians. I didn’t want to see the Rhodens get railroaded and swept under the rug.

Very unlikely any purchased suppressor was used. Very difficult to get the permit.

Yes, a lot of us here became concerned with the comments in the news media from DeWine and others. They kept implying the Rhodens were involved in hosting cockfights, derby races, etc. A lot of people were coming into the discussion here at WS making those kind of accusations, implying they were terrible, violent people who brought their deaths upon themselves. It wasn't true.

It got to the point where we asked the mods to start deleting any comments dealing with cockfighting.

The reporting and public discussion of the grow ops was also overblown, JMO, especially when Ohio was less than a year from legalizing marijuana. Many tried to infer the family was involved in dealing hard drugs. It was all very unfair to the victims and survivors, JMO.

Don't forget DR pulled a double shift at the last minute so the W's may not have realized she wasn't home til late. Although JW did come get his daughter earlier that night ("must have miss it by hours") and CR visited awhile dropping off her son unexpectedly that night. The plan might have been changed a bit because of these things. Didn't FR also have car trouble that night and had BH's uncle come jump his truck?

Thanks for asking me this @Puzzles8

But finer minds than mine have gone over the route Dana would have taken coming home from her nursing home job.

I will defer to others on here who know. Cool Cats is not a know-it-all and I do like asking questions......

Anyone have the answer? .. Thanks .. ;)

My apologies to you CC if I jumped in and answered what I knew about the geography.
I not mean anything, any disrespect by it. I have always assumed anyone can jump in and respond to a question.
Maybe I have been doing it wrong. Sorry .

Gotcha. Do you know if the homemade suppressors could be used for multiple shots? I am surprised there were more guns than suppressors. Did I understand that correctly?

ETA This didn't post correctly. It was to dudly's response on my question if suppressors were purchased. He said doubtful, too hard to get permits

DeWine said the rest of the Wagners were unaware of Jake's plea deal and yesterday would be the first time they hear of it. He said they've been kept separate from each other and they may learn the news through gossip in the jail "grapevine".

They will all have to consider making their own plea deals now. Assume their attorneys will be contacting them.

I wonder whether Jake took the deal first so he would be more likely to get a better deal. Once he has provided the state with all the information (told them where to find weapons and cars used in the murders), the other family members don't have any bargaining chips. Ultimately, the judge will decide on the sentences of the others, but Jake's deal does take the DP off the table for them, too.

Today we need to see about getting copies of AC's Statement of Facts for Jake and a copy of his plea agreement.
BBM - could you please provide a link to where Dewine said this? I'm having difficulty finding that information. I'm not doubting necessarily that he said it but rather I just cannot find where in MSM that he said this. Thanking you in advance.

It's in Mike DeWine's press conference yesterday, behind the Pike County Courthouse. I watched it live on Fox 19, including the Q and A from reporters. The full recording may not be out there.

He spoke about the way gossip moves through jails and prisons and said it was likely they have heard it by now.

Emotional DeWine praises ‘tough and strong’ Rhoden family

This link also has the quotes from Governor Mike DeWine praising former Sheriff Charlie Reader for his work on the case

The governor singled out former Pike County Sheriff Charlie Reader, whom a judge sentenced to prison last month on charges of stealing money seized from arrests and attempting to cover it up.

DeWine said Reader “never gave up on the case” and “was with us the entire way.”

He also said it was Reader who, after a vast amount of evidence had been compiled against the Wagners, finally persuaded the others to pursue indictments.

“It got to a point where [Reader,] he looks up and says, ‘Boys, we gotta go,’ and we said, ‘Yeah, you’re right,’” DeWine said.

The phone call that upset her at work may have had some influence.

I'll speculate that HR may have told DR about JW taking SW that evening.

Would be nice if Ruby would give that $25k reward to the children. Far better PR for him.

Not impossible, but making a suppressor that interchanges with other calibers creates a few problems. Number one being a suppressor fitting a large caliber and used on a smaller caliber would be less effective at reducing noise, sort of like an exhaust leak on your car.

Maybe they suppressed the .30 cal. and 9mm, leaving the .22 without one?

I'll never forget how when suppressors were brought up, the same voices were right on it saying it wasn't a James Bond movie.
