Was RN taking care of her mother at the time?

AW kept putting her mom on the spot with recorded phone conversations that even involved RN's mom iirc.

My biggest question is WHO paid for RN's lawyer. There was no electric in one residence but 'somehow' RN was able to pay for her lawyer?

It seems more likely, that 'someone' else paid for RN's lawyer but why?

She should have easily qualified for a court appointed lawyer so why did someone pay for her lawyer.

I'm very curious why you think somebody other than the State (or RN) paid for her legal representation? Please tell me what I missed here.

I recall when she posted her $50K bail bond it was stated that she'd worked as a teacher. When she appeared in court to enter her plea, her attorney Frank Gerlach stated she was retired on social security. I always thought Gerlach was her court-appointed counsel.

I can't imagine that RN didn't quality for court-appointed counsel as soon as she was placed on house arrest-- if not before. But I'd really like to know how I missed where somebody else was paying RN's legal fees on her behalf.

Thank you for this, it is greatly appreciated!

Just jumping off your post now - on page 7 (I think it is), it has "Gary Rhoden, chip-off." Does anybody know what this means and/or what it pertains to - this "chip-off" that is mentioned there?

Thanks in advance.

Since this appears under "cyber" my best guess is that "chip-off" is related to a technology device. MOO

Chip-off forensics is an advanced digital data extraction and analysis technique which involves physically removing flash memory chip(s) from a subject device and then acquiring the raw data using specialized equipment.

I thought you might find this upper right photo interesting.
Damaged phones that are possible candidates for chip-off forensics.

RN and FW never filed indigent applications with the court, these must be filed to get a court appointed attorney.

12/04/2018 INDIGENT APPLICATION FILED - Billy
11/28/2018 INDIGENT APPLICATION FILED - George
11/27/2018 INDIGENT APPLICATION FILED - Jake
11/30/2018 INDIGENT APPLICATION FILED - Angela

She did not have enough money for electricity, she had to use kerosene lamps. Her lawyer stated she is poor and should get a low Bond. From RN's Bond Hearing.

Also, the Other Acts Evidence specifically states that the Wagners paid for attorneys for witnesses and continued to do so after their arrests through phone calls and their attorneys. RN was a witness both before and after the Wagner's arrests and Angie called her from jail many times."You don't have to testify against us" Angie said to RN over the phone. Canepa said this in RN's Revocation Hearing.

This has to be a joke.

I don't know if this is factual or not but I do know it isnt far fetched in the region. Poverty is real. Do I eat or do I buy meds, pay electric, water(if they have running water), etc....

Perhaps someone paid her attorney fees in hope she would walk the party line. JMO MOO

it was stated by her attorney, so it must be true.
Just like FW attorney stated, FW "lives close to the cross"

I know what you say is true.
Poverty in the area is real.

What about RN's thankless children?

I guess Angela never helped her Mom out with the very basics of living in minimal comfort.
Sad what AW did to her.

I remember the kerosene was mentioned in a hearing but I can't find the link right now so this needs to be my opinion only. So consider this statement my opinion.

But her attorney did specify that she was poor and her source of income was $700.00 per month from disability and social security and he was trying to get her a signature Bond - “recognizance” Bond - so she wouldn't need to put any money down.

I suspect when you are a self centered, egotistical, psychopath, then even your mother is fair game. AW used her mother to the extent she landed her in jail. Even then, AW wanted her mom to lie to cover her behind. It is why AW lost her phone and other privileges. I don't have the link so I'll go with ...JMO MOO

What also bothers me was the fact that Angie almost got her mom's Bond revoked.
RN had to go to a Revocation Hearing. Junk filed a Motion to revoke her Bond.

Luckily she avoided jail. I can't believe that Angie did not realize that she was putting her mother's freedom in jepordy. Angie lost her phone and mail but can still do visits apparently, and receive books and magazines from Amazon or the publisher but not from an individual which is standard.

...2 Cents...

Did we think Rita was completely off the hook?
I am still looking at Rita - here are the last entries.
Rita's case is listed as undisposed
Rita was charged with 5 different counts.
Rita pled guilty to only one count.
It looks to me like other counts are still on the record for trial.

So if Rita still has counts against her, Rita will be more likely to testify truthfully, or she is back in court. This could be why FW may think $$ can solve the problem of Rita and truth vs lies.

GW4 bond hearing, Agent Scheiderer's testimony:
"He also described ballistic evidence that includes shell casings found throughout the house from .40 caliber, .30 caliber and .22 caliber guns that shot the victims." (This is three weapons.)

(I believe AC said that 0.22 gun killed 5 victims--which presumably is DR, HR, CRJR, FR, HG--the five people JW admitted to personally killing himself in his confession, see link below. I also believe AC said 0.40 caliber and 0.30 caliber shells were used at the other two locations--CRSR's trailer and KR's trailer. The interview of GR's father right around the time of GR's funeral revealed that two different size bullets were used to kill CRSR and GR, but I don't have link for that interview, so this is JMO.)

link:
Pike County Massacre: BCI agent testifies about evidence against eldest Wagner son

JW's confession hearing:
According to the Columbus Dispatch, Wagner confessed to killing five of the victims himself.

link:
Wagner pleads guilty to 8 Pike County murders after largest probe in Ohio history

Quick note: 3 different caliber weapons are listed. That doesn't necessarily mean that there were only 3 guns used. MOO

Canepa said if RN cooperates with the prosecution and tells all basically,
then they will recommend a light sentence. She would only be sentenced for 1 misdemeanor count instead of being sentenced for 5 felonies.

Seems Angie wanted her mom to choose the 5 felonies, house arrest, possible jail or prison time, her mom labeled as a felon, fines, probation etc...

On top of that who would stay and take care Angie's grandmother if RN was sentenced to jail or prison for 5 felonies?
Angie called over there all the time, knew her mom takes care of her grandma who was 86 at time of arrests and had health issues.

Crazy off-the-wall question.

If JW died before it was time for him to testify against one of the others, what would happen?

It's very unlikely, but people in jail do commit suicide. And although it doesn't happen often, sometimes inmates kill other inmates.

If the other 3 continue to plea "not guilty" and JW wasn't there to testify against them, is there a chance one of the others could be acquitted or get a mistrial? (I know it's a stretch of the imagination, but that's how my brain works.)

Speaking of hypotheticals, I'd like to know what happens to the deal with Jake and the DP specification for all 4 if Jake only provides part of the truth in his testimony? That would be the ultimate s%*×! You to his family, if he gives just enough testimony to convict everyone, but holds out enough so that the plea agreement is null and void. Would the DP still be on the table for the other 3? Just about when I think he's showing some remorse, someone shares an observation that gets me to reconsider.

TY! It's good that Canepa still holds it all over Rita's head.
Truth or trial.
Has to make all 4 W's and FW nervous. Maybe a few other people too.
Think of all Rita could tell.
I would bet she has tons of info on Prior Bad Deeds. Just my opinion.
