dang it, no! It was as we'd feared but the sting is just as sharp nonetheless. I am devastated for this young mother. The pain, the horror, the guilt, overwhelming grief. I pray she has good support surrounding her to get through what will surely be the most difficult days in her life.

What a heartbreaking end. I skipped from the first page to the last and my heart sank.

What I was going to say, and why I skipped, is that poverty isn't a crime. Just because you are homeless shouldn't mean you are denied access to your children.

However, given the outcome, this no longer seems to be a great basis to make that point. I hope they find him quickly and provide him a very tiny home for the rest of his life.

My heart breaks for the terror and suffering these three little girls must have experienced at the hands of someone they trusted.

And, my heart breaks, then breaks again for their mother. I can’t even imagine loss this profound.

My appreciation to each of you who have posted their sincere messages and expressed fervent hope that these 3 beautiful girls would quickly be found safe. The Websleuths community ‘has always been a source of comfort to me’ You each hold a special place in my life. i am grieving for each of these precious girls.

During an immediate search of the area, the bodies of the three missing girls were discovered. Decker was not located.

Shortly after the discovery, the East Cascade SWAT Team was activated and began searching for Decker. The Washington State Patrol Crime Scene Response Team was requested to process the scene and search Decker's vehicle. Crime scene processing is expected to conclude sometime Tuesday, June 3.​

What you can do:

He is a former military member with extensive training. It is unknown whether Decker is currently armed, and he may pose a significant risk if approached.

Praying hard for comfort for this family, how utterly horrific. The father likely blamed the mom for his homelessness too depending upon how he became that way... and trying to punish her indeed using those poor three incent angels. jmo I wish the US provided better (or even SOME/ANY) mental health care to our veterans after their service as well as address their frequent homelessness and provide veteran homeless shelters.
